Ok- let’s talk about SMEG ! First of all, I love #smeg company because of the flawless, luxury and clean design - Retro look. It doesn’t matter what color you gonna pick, it’s gonna look very nice! So this toaster has 4 slots with 2 controls - you can choose and adjust the browning levels in each side separately. It also has 4 options of: bagel, reheat, defrost and cancel. What is also beautiful about smeg, is for example if you have their kettle (or other same company appliances) you can match the colors what make your kitchen extremely beautiful!

On the technical bit, it is self explanatory to use (as all toasters) and the toast comes out really hot. Maybe my previous toaster was on it's way out! The best bit though, it browns both side's of the bread to perfection touching the edge's. Really happy with my choice and would recommend but an expensive one compared to other models.

If I could give this negative stars, I would. For the sole purpose of it being purchased through Nordstroms. For the amount of money spent ($300) it was a shame that Nordstroms couldn’t do better business. Upon opening after receiving the shipment, it had already obviously been used!! There were crumbs and seeds in the catch tray and markings on the top of the toaster. Nordstroms refused to offer any compensation and I would still have to wait over 1 week for a replacement.I didn’t spend that amount of money for a toaster to be sent a used one and than have a reputable company not rectify the situation.I ended up giving my business to Williams-Sonoma.As for the toaster, if you’re able to spend that amount of money on a toaster, go for it. In 2020 I bought a Smeg 90cm freestanding oven, combo micorwave oven, espresso machine, kettle and this toaster, all matching for our new kitchen. All items stayed in their box for a year while our house was built. Approximately 2 years after starting to use, one half of the toaster wont go down and the elements don’t work. Not impressed after spending OVER $10,000 on matching appliances from a brand I had expected much better quality from. Unfortunately for me I recently bought the drip coffee maker to add to the matching appliances. I now have to replace with a toaster that doesn’t match as I refuse to replace a $300 toaster every 2 years. Very disappointing, these appliances look great and always receive lots of comments, but 2 years just isn’t acceptable.
Had a new kitchen and decided to splash out on a smeg toaster. The first one went back because the pop out crumb tray mechanism didn't work. Overall the quality isn't what I'd expect for something with this price tag. Many of the component parts are plastic, not metal. The bread is not uniformly toasted: one side always less cooked than the other. There is a very annoying lip around the toasting slots which catches all the crumbs and requires a small brush to remove them. So in terms of design and function I am disappointed in smeg. I wouldn't buy this brand again.
I love this toaster. It is very easy to use. My bread comes out so perfectly. I love that there are options for bagels, and even can make frozen items too. We use that option a lot for my kids frozen waffles. There is also a high lift lever and lift and look lever, which is how my toast gets perfect every time I use it. And the light blue color is so beautiful.
Sometimes you just need toast. Whether it’s as simple as toast and Vegemite or a smashed avo with yourbreakfast laté, the SMEG toaster has your back. Super reliable, perfectly done toast every time. And let’s face it, the machine looks spectacular and goes with all your other super cool SMEG appliances. I mean sure you can make toast with a $20 supermarket job but seriously who wants to be seen dead at your next ladies brunch with one of those. Get the SMEG I say - you deserve it!
I bought this toaster along with the matching kettle, to replace my Dualit.The toaster has 6 browning options (which I think relates to minutes). I like my toast fairly well browned so i use #6. It comes out lightly browned on this highest setting & very patchy, with the top part hardly cooked at all.I sent the 1st one back to Smeg (easy enough to do), but the 2nd one is the same.I wouldn't recommend if you like your toast fully browned! For the price I would have expected so much more & wish I had stuck with the other make!
Yes I know it’s just a toaster but what you get with Smeg is that look of pure luxury and class. The toaster is a work of art. Without even trying I knew it was a keeper beside my Smeg Kettle. I have now used it and the functionality of the toaster is great. I’m really pleased with my purchase. I did hold off purchasing as my old toaster did the job but as soon as I displayed the new addition it was spotted straight away and admired. Yes Smeg is expensive but it really does make a statement in your kitchen.
I bought this to match a Smeg blender I already have in white. Love the brand and it's retro style. The toaster is what it is ... a toaster, does what it says on the tin. It has wider slots than my previous much cheaper one. Settings are easy to use. The one thing I've noticed is that it doesn't drop hardly any crumbs underneath and actually collects them in the push out trays below .... Yes finally a toaster that collects crumbs! Looks super stylish. The only reason I've given it 4 stars is the price. It is basically a toaster and like most things you're paying for the brand. Also like the fact you can get extra accessories like a warming rack which for the price would've been nice to be included. I do recommend Smeg as a brand though and have a few of their products.
