Which is a contradiction because the smashed up smeg oven I received wont be replaced by a new one if something goes wrong with your purchase. The so called good guys dont support you. My first thoughts on opening the box were “wow” so shiny and red. Certainly, very impressive out of the box. It is a lot larger than I was expecting and does take up more bench space than my other pod machine. The coffee pod samples that come with it were a nice surprise, though two of each capsule would have been appreciated as coffee drinking is a social experience and it would have been nice to assess each of the different flavours with a friend. Once in place the water tank is easy to remove to refill, however, not so easy to replace in the right position and can lead to spilling water. I found it very awkward to refill without removing the tank as there isn’t a lot of room to manoeuvre the water jug if it is under an overhead cupboard and there are other appliances next to it. It is easy to put the pods in and easy to access the drawer to remove the used pods. It is very easy to use, just pod in and press button. I could not find much information on how or if the pods were recyclable and there weren’t any compatible with pods that I could find in the supermarket. It does make beautiful coffee. We have tried Espresso, Flat Whites and my favourite; Long Black with milk also known as an Americano or Long Macchiato. A draw back to this machine is that if you want to use a mug it doesn’t fit under the spout and if you remove the drip tray to create more room, the mug balances precariously half off the shelf. My verdict: a fantastic machine I would highly recommend to existing Smeg appliance owners, it matches their range and really does look great. If the brand and look are not important then I think there are other machines that do just as good a job, are better value and take up less precious bench space and are easier to refill.

It’s a great machine, so simple to use and clean. Looks great too. The only real negative is the lack of options for capsules in Woolworths and Coles. They stock 3-4 different types only. Please note this machine is not compatible with other capsules. I knew this before buying, but in case you buy expecting Nespresso compatibility, it isn’t.

We wanted to upgrade from our old Nespresso machine and we already had the Smeg toaster and kettle. Didn't realise that we needed different pods, but there is a good variety at the supermarkets. The footprint is larger than my old one, but it looks great. The coffee tastes good and is not very noisy. Heats up quickly. Sometimes the lights flash quickly. Not sure what it means, but there is a handy guide to refer to.
I am enjoying my morning coffee using the Smeg Lavazza coffee machine. The machine is stylish and slim. When I first set up the machine, I programmed it to the longest dispensing cycle. Took just a few minutes to do. Fill the water tank, switch the power on at the wall, press either button on top of the machine and wait for the flashing to stop - the water will now come through the machine hot. Pop the coffee pod in the top (it’s shape is cutout so you can’t put it in upside-down), press down the lever to pierce the pod, then I press the pre-programmed button and the dispensing begins. Cleaning is a breeze. Pull the empty pod drawer outward, dispose of used pod and rinse the pod drawer (the drawer holds a few used pods before needing to be emptied). The coffee pods come in a variety of flavours. We enjoy the taste of multiple flavours. The pods are regularly on sale at the shops. Still works out cheaper than purchasing a daily coffee from a cafe. Overall, we really like the machine - how easy it is to use, the coffee pod flavours and the ease the clean the machine.
Straight out of the box this machine is stylish. I have a red one but it does come in black and cream too. It was super easy to set up. Once out of the packaging the drip tray clips on to the front, you pop the water canister off the back, fill up to the line and then pop back on. You then simply run the water though the machine for a first cleaning and then refill and you are ready to go. The kit comes with a selection of the pods available. There are lots of places you can buy extra pods, from supermarkets to online and they are very reasonably priced. The machine itself is easy to use. You simply press either of the cup buttons on the top, select your pod, lift the top handle, put the pod in and close the lid, place your cup on the drip tray or remove the tray if ... MoreStraight out of the box this machine is stylish. You can tell it is good quality coffee by the crema layer on top. I have tried about half of the varieties so far and they are all really nice. It will be hard to pick a favourite. The machine is easy to clean, and there are lights to tell you when the pod draw needs to be emptied or when its time to descale and anything else just needs a quick wipe down when required. The machine also turns itself off after a few minutes. Overall this machine looks great, it's easy to use and creates fresh bean tasting quality coffee, and taste is the most important thing. As for the price of this machine in conjunction with the ongoing cost of the pods I class this as a great value product. Highly Recommended!!!
This Lavazza A Modo Mio Smeg Capsule Machine is not your typical coffee machine. For starter, it combines the smart-looking modern Italian appeal in a Retro fashion. Coming in 3 great colours - Black, Red and Cream it can definitely fit right in any modern kitchen. Its slim yet solid build is great as a little showpiece in any countertop. It is small and compact that it does not need much space and can easily be handy if you wish to bring it in an RV or caravan. I find this machine to be smart too. It has 3 automated light alerting you to any of the following - empty water tank, full capsule drawer or if it needs de-scaling - smart huh so there is no need for any guessing game. There are not many moving parts that you need to assemble. It is easy to clean and easy ... MoreThis Lavazza A Modo Mio Smeg Capsule Machine is not your typical coffee machine. Operation is very simple - just lift the lever on top, insert your choice of Lavazza A Modo Mio capsule, return the lever and hold down any of the two lighted buttons (the Espresso or Lungo) until the desired quantity has been reached. You can program a preferred volume and savour the real taste of espresso exactly to your liking. The Lavazza range caters to everyone from the casual coffee drinker to those more sophisticated ones - the variety of coffee intensity and flavours to the different undertones of the coffee makes it more exciting. Any time is a good time to enjoy an authentic at-home espresso experience.
Got the Lavazza A Modo Mio Smeg capsule coffee machine a month ago and have been using it almost every day. The coffee machine has a small footprint and doesnt take up much space on the kitchen benchtop. The quality and look of the machine is top quality with the Smeg build standing out and making a bold statement in the kitchen. It operates very quietly and with very little vibration. The parts of the machine are also strong and of good quality. The water container is of suitable size so you can refill it easily and sits nicely out of sight. The waste bucket for the pods is very discreetly hidden and blends in with the whole machine, and the drop tray and the top stainless steel lend a high quality image of the product. There is a range of coffee pods to suit every coffee drinker although the supermarkets dont sell the entire range which is disappointing. The coffee from the machine is what I expect from a Lavazza machine. Hot, good crema, excellent taste and aroma and indeed the perfect cup of coffee. My only drawback of the machine is that the machine dispenses the coffee extremely slowly, The other drawback is that we pay for convenience - most coffees from a capsule machine is 3 times the cost from a beans/grind expresso machine but still beats a barista coffee any dau. All in all, the Lavassa A Modo Mio Smeg machine gives me an economical, great tasting and refreshing cup of coffee, in a small but powerful and elegant machine.
Heads up for the coffee coni sure, this machine is a game changer, my recent purchase going from Nespresso to LavaZZa teamed with smeg. And absolute game changer. Extremely happy with the coffee, the machine is easy to use and easy to clean. It has a great size water tank, the milk frother is separate and a tad expensive as you’d expect from Smeg. We use an Aldi brand milk frother time being. However the machine is a classy addition to a new kitchen. Well done Smeg!
The Smegg Lavazza machine is very simple to use. Very elegant looking and continues that unique Italian retro style Smegg has adopted with a lot of their small appliances. It has a basic dual output function to suit either the small Esspresso or the large Latte size coffee. The water output level can also be adjusted simply adjusted to suit your liking. To adjust the output level, just hold the button on top of the machine down and release when the desired level has been achieved. When first turned on, it's ready to go in about 30 seconds. The machine also has some warning alarms when water tank is empty, capsule drawer is full or if the machine requires descaling. There are a wide variety of pods available and can be purchased either on ling, at the local supermarket or from a retail outlet such as The Good Guys. You can also compliment the machine with the Smegg Milk Frother which compliments the Lavazza machine nicely and produces a real nice frothy milk amongst other things it can do. If there was one negative, it would be the drip tray. This has to be removed whenever making a coffee with a tall mug, so sort of defeats the purpose of a drip tray as when you remove your coffee, it will drip onto the lower shelf. I would give the machine a 10/10 for ease of use, style and build quality and a 9/10 purely because of the drip tray.
