Smeg Retro Style Espresso Pump Coffee Machine - Pastel Green
Diverse colour finishes Smeg are as attentive to form as they are to functionality, with an aesthetic inspired by the pop art movement and iconic Italian design. When these coffee machines aren t busy hissing, they can be shown off and coordinated with the toasters and kettles in their family. From subdued pastels to more intense, popping tones, there s a finish to suit every personality. Compact profile Some manual coffee machines can be accused of hogging benchtop space, but this unit will leave plenty of room for your other small appliances. With a single group head, a steam wand, and a small drip tray, there s not much to this machine. That doesn t mean it can t pump out a seriously good coffee. Threebutton control Don t worry if you have zero barista experience; you only need to learn three buttons to convert your beans into beverages. Located on the top of the unit, buttons for single shot, double shot, and steam make it simple to prepare your favourite coffee drinks. Steam wand The manual milk frother will allow you to achieve the perfect microfoam, and you can submerge the wand for longer to get a hotter coffee. Invite your friends around and show off your finest latte art (with a quality coffee underneath, of course).

Coffee machine is a great basic level coffee machine for home use. Compact size and aesthetic design make it a nice appliance to have out on the bench. Works great for me so far, simple to use - loving my morning coffees. Only comment is the steam wand for milk frothing is different to most machines, still trying to get used to it.

I love my machine so much once if finally arrived , just takes a bit to get used to the milk frother and perfect that but otherwise its amazing! The only thing I would say is I would NEVER purchase it or anything else from the good guys again. I had the worst experience and am still yet to hear anytime from a single representative. Great machine but do yourself a favour and buy it elsewhere.

Bought this last month as a lockdown splurge, absolutely love using this in my daily coffee ritual! We use soymilk at home and the texture from the frother is exactly the same as regular milk. Unfortunately in our area cafes are not within walking distance so it is so nice to fire up the machine when we need a caffeine hit.The pastel green colour also adds a cute pop of colour to our kitchen.

I hadn’t seen this in person when I ordered it online so I was disappointed that it’s mostly plastic. However it’s easy to use and makes great coffee, AFTER you lengthen the program time. I also adjusted the water hardness as I only use filtered water. One slightly annoying feature is that it has trouble going from steam function back to espresso, (perhaps because it’s hotter?) so I usually switch it off between functions. No biggie for a small, funky, functional machine.
I love it! The design is stunning. Really beautiful machine. It is easy to use and maintain. Wish it would make the coffee a little hotter though. I followed the steps in the manual but it doesn’t seem to have made any difference (that’s if it actually changed the temp setting)
After reading the positive reviews I really wanted to love the SMEG coffee maker but I'm torn and will probably return it. Firstly, I think it looks nice with its retro shape and pastel colour and the build quality is excellent. However let me list all the detractions...Milker frother wand is way too short and no unscrewable end knob to clean. The lack of a knob can be a bonus but the wand still needs cleaning of course. The coffee filter is in no way positive in fitting (the Sunbeam coffee maker felt positive from day 1 until it's demise.)You cannot fill the coffee filter to the top otherwise you cannot fit the coffee filter as it has a bulge that invades the coffee filter. To fully lock the coffee filter you need truck drivers muscles and hold the coffee ... MoreAfter reading the positive reviews I really wanted to love the SMEG coffee maker but I'm torn and will probably return it. Expectation is that somewhere down the line this will snap. There is no jug supplied for frothing milk, even the cheapest Sunbeam coffee maker includes a stainless steel milk jug.The above are my detractions for this device but I believe the comments on longevity and lack of mechanical issues and it certainly does appear well built.I read in other brands the fact that descaling can be an issue, well all I can say is.... use bottled water! Water out of the tap has many cleaning chemicals, we have used filtered rain water and never descaled once in 18 years. It would still be working today if the buttons hadn't clapped out. I notice that the cheap Sunbeams have a dial selector. That makes sense as button switches seem to succumb to the steam.
Love this machine. Makes a great coffee and can get a really good froth with the frother. I use plant based milk and it has no problems what-so-ever.Ocassionally when making multiple coffees I have to 'restart' the coffee machine by turning it on and off at the power so the internal system switches back from froth to coffee but I can usually get two coffees out before this happens.Honestly don't find this a problem. Love how small it is and so easy to clean. Winner.
Bought this machine to save money and it has been the best decision! I've never made my own lattes before, so it took some time to get the coffee tasting like my local cafe's. However, now that I have the process down pat, the coffee is amazing!Cool retro design and perfect for small kitchen :)
I purchased as a Birthday present for my partner who is very fussy with coffee. We love it! The colour is super cute and it works amazingly. We can make baristed coffees at home. It's relatively cheap given the quality that you get.
Just after a week of use a coffee steamer stopped to work, and the steam is weak and nearly enough for warming up a little bit of milk, which made the coffee so bad.I am also not happy at all with espresso, I expected much more for that price
