Smith Code 2 MIPS Helmet Matte Terra Red - Size Small | Rhythm Snowsports

(232 reviews)

It's the little things that make a difference. Fresh snow, a day off, and a helmet that prioritizes comfort and style right along with crash protection. The Smith Code ski and snowboard helmet does it all. Zonal Koroyd and MIPS impact protection absorb energy in the event of a crash. The super-adjustable BOA 360 Fit System and a warm, knit liner let you customize the fit for comfort that lasts from first chair to last. Six engineered vents work with your goggles for fog-free vision, and a magnetic chinstrap buckle makes for easy one-hand operation. Not to mention it's nice and light, too. The little things add up. Lightweight in-mold construction fuses the exterior shell and EPS foam for a one-piece design that's lightweight and durable Zonal Koroyd coverage for lightweight, energy-absorbing and ventilated impact protection MIPS Protection System reduces rotational forces caused by angled impacts to the head Select colorways offered without MIPS system Certification: ASTM F 2040, CE EN 1077:2007 CLASS B

So much better than my Oakley MOD1. Granted that's an excellent helmet and at a lower price point. The Smith fits a bit more snug on the sides and the padding is incredibly comfortable. Very adjustable with the back BOA and the mag chin strap is great and super easy to open and close one handed. Fit with my IO mag goggles is flawless. I also like the fact that's equipped with MIPS and the zonal Koroyd system is a welcome feature as well. All in all is super comfortable, feature packed and looks pretty good as well.

Great helmet, so so Aleck chips integration

The helmet is very solid. Everything you'd expect from a good winter helmet. However, with the way the ear pads are designed, it is really uncomfortable with the aleck wireless helmet speakers to the point I don't use them at all. A bit disappointing since the product itself is good, just don't think the adequate space was given to fully claim "comfortable compatibility "

Looks good

I love the look of this helmet and it fits well. I love the bag it came with. If I had one complaint, it's that the back adjustment doesn't adjust up/down as much as the other smith helmets that I have. I currently have the maze, liberty, and vantage helmet. Those helmets will adjust shorter so when I look up the back of the helmet will not dig into the back of my neck. This helmet does not adjust as much as those so no matter what I do this will hit the back of my neck when I look up. This does not take away from the stars because this a personal preference and nothing to do with the product itself.

Not what I hoped.
20 January 2024

While I’d have and crash test experience to report on, I can report on fit. For starters, I was a bit bummed to see that this helmet doesn’t have a seemless fit with older smith goggles. I have both I/O7 and Vice goggles, and neither fit this helmet well, being more round at the top, where the helmet is more flat, so gaps form. I realize brands can change designs, but didn’t realize smith changed theirs that much in the past couple years. Also the BOA on the back comes very far down the back of the head, so any time I look up, it pushes my goggle down on my face and nose, essentially plugging my nose. Neither are huge deals but just annoying, and makes me wish I’d stuck with the Maze (now Method) I’ve had in the past.

Sleek look; not compatible with Alec audio.
3 December 2023

This helmet is comfortable and looks sleek. It fits well with my iOS goggles,io goggles, and squad goggles. My only complaint is that it is NOT compatible with the ALEC Bluetooth audio system as advertised. The speakers once placed in the helmet are so painful that you cannot ski with them in. If you are looking for a helmet that is compatible with the ALEC audio system opt for the maze helmet or the allure.

Smith Code Helmets

Helmet looks great, fits a little low for my goggles but I guess that’s what they’re supposed to? The small helmet fits really snug but I’m right on the cusp so I figured one for cold days with a beanie and another for sunny days without a beanie. First time having a helmet and I like the feeling of now I don’t have to hold back. Website was easy to manage, even though the order took long to process and actually ship, the helmets are nice.

Smith x northface Code review
9 January 2021

Incase anyone is interested. Ive used this helmet for a few days now and intend to use it atleast 60 more its a good helmet for alot of reasons. To start with its very light i dont know specific weight on it but its easily the lightest helmet ive used to the point where you wont notice it really weight wise. The design of the north face one is what drew me to buy it though, and its spot on to pictures and feels nicely finished when you run your hand across the smooth matt paint. I havent tested the corrid system yet thankfully but it defenitly saves you alot of weight and i can see how it would help in an inpact vs a foam helmet. The chin strap buckle is a new design thats easy to use once you get the hang of it basically a magnet that will clip on quick and easy ... MoreIncase anyone is interested. Only downside to this helmet is the ear pads, they really hurt my ears alot throughout the day. Seams like there isnt alot of padding there and its like having a phone pressed to your ear all hard. Might buy new ear pads for it if avaliable idk tho maybe wear earmuffs?

So far so good
4 April 2024

I recently got this helmet and so far it's been great. One big complaint I have is that while it says it's compatible with the Aleck audio systems, once I put the chips into the liner and remove the foam, it's way too tight and my ears get pressed into my head in a uncomfortable way. I was looking forward to using this with my Ski Patrol radio in that aspect, but alas. Still a great helmet and a beautiful color.

Undoubtedly the most comfortable helmet
19 March 2024

I love the solid outer construction. Less to go wrong. The helmet is super comfy and with the BOA system I can dial in those micro adjustments to get the perfect fit. Haven’t discovered of the ear pads can be removed. I don’t think they can. Still gave it a 5 star because I like it that much.

We like the Code helmet
13 March 2024

We like the Code helmet for its simplicity. Fit and finish is very good. The color isn’t what we thought it would be. Too bad that most of the ski shops are afraid to stock all the colors as we would have rather bought from a brick and mortar establishment, but to get the orange color we had to order directly from Smith. The order process was easy and the helmet arrived quickly.
