I bought this helmet recently first day it worked well but day 2 the buckle on the helmet broke off and I was unable to buckle the helmet. I asked smith if they could fix it if I sent it back but instead they said I had to buy a brand new one and that it’s not their fault. Horrible company horrible customer service

I bought this helmet because it's one of the few MIPS helmets certified for both summer (biking) and winter use, which was important to me knowing that material properties can change based on temperature and a helmet that's safe in one season may not be as effective in another. It's really nice to just have one helmet I can use for all seasons instead of keeping multiple around.Pros:- Extremely comfortable - vast improvement over any other helmet I've owned.- The actual inside of the helmet can adjust sizes, and in each size there's some elastic stretch too. Could be a bit easier to remove.Overall, super comfortable and a great value, especially considering the alternative of owning 2-3 different helmets for various seasons/activities. Overall, highly recommend.

Comfortable. Lightweight. Looks clean. MIPS! Reasonably priced. I used it a few times during spring boarding and it was comfortable, warm, with plenty functional features for the price point. Add in being a MIPS helm and it's a winner.

Great kids MIPS helmet, comfortable, lightweight, and well fitting for smaller heads. The only thing we're not crazy about is the adjustable snap feature-much prefer the rotating knob design you see on many others. The adjustable snaps are harder to use, harder to get a good fit, and the kids aren't able to adjust them on their own.
Love this helmet, inexpensive, looks great and fits well. Works perfectly with Smith goggles. I kinda wish it had a dial adjustment system for fit but it's something I barely think about when I'm actually using the helmet
I like the quality of Smith brand, and I bought this helmet to try for my boys. They tried it on and told me this was not as comfortable as the Smith Jr Glide mips helmet. Also, the way to adjust this helmet is more complicated than most other helmets they’ve tried. Returned this one and stuck with the Smith Glide Jr.
I returned to work after a few days of skiing at Holiday Valley in New York. I am not a good skier and suffered many spills. Fortunately, my decision-making skills did not seem to suffer thanks to this helmet. It was comfortable and kept my head warm without needing another layer underneath. I would recommend this helmet.

The Smith Scout helmet has a snug, secure fit through the adjustable harness and goes perfectly with my Smith Squad XL goggles.I tested the helmet in snowy early season conditions and was really surprised, how well the air flow and climate control worked. In -15°C the helmet kept my head and ears warm and when temperatures rose to around 0°C I never felt hot underneath the shell. For spring shredding, you can remove the ear pads and lining, which is super easy and quick!To me the Smith Scout helmet offers clean style, good adjustability and all the safety you need. Everything I need, nothing I don't. Definitely a no frills helmet (no close-able vents, no adjustment on head size other than elastic). No issues with the vents letting in too much moisture, if at all, and no issues with goggle fogging. The visor seems to help seal up things nicely on my forehead. Feels more streamlined and not as bulky as other helmets i've had. Super comfy, super good looking, super price.
Stylish, warm, and comfortable. I didn't need to spend $240 for vents. The $100 helmet was perfect. Matte white is a modern look too. The goggles seem to stay put when I lift them. They used to slide down on my old helmet.
