I have a slim/small women's face (or maybe average sized.) i did not know if i should get regular vs. XL -- men should definitely get an XL. friend advised smith chromapop goggles -- i ordered smith skyline black/chromapop storm rose. LOVE LOVE LOVE these -- total game changer for me for skiing in the NORTHEAST. i just wore them on a trip to STOWE last week, all week, and they were fabulous. had no issues. have not tried to change out the lens. my prior goggles were only good on a super bright sunny day. these are better in low lighting/cloudy conditions but also worked great when it was sunny.

These are great basic goggles with modern features and a reasonable price point. The optics are really good with the spherical ChromaPop lens and rimless design. At max length, the strap just fit over my XL helmet, and the rubber backing is really nice to keep them securely placed on the helmet. One thing to note: if you're going for the tall tee bro look, the clip on the back will make it pretty uncomfortable to wear these with the strap under your helmet. Additionally, the shape of the goggles fits well with my Smith Maze helmet. They also fit my face well. I'm white with a large head and average size face, and I'd consider them to be medium size. I did experience some minor fog on a hot day when standing still, but I found these to have exceptional venting which quickly cut fog once I got moving. The only downside is that they don't include any of the really fancy quick change lens features, but I find that a fair trade off for the price.

The googles are great but they are a replacement for a pair that had the silicone one the inside of the strap go all gooey. It was 100% a manufacturing defect. The company offered a replacement quickly and easily but made me pay an excessive amount for shipping. Seriously? It's your mistake, why do I have to pay to fix it? There are lots of comparable brands out there. This will for definitely be my last pair of Smiths.

I bought 4 Skylines before receiving one that I was happy with. The first was a ‘regular-sized’ skyline that I bought directly from Smith. I found that it was two small to accommodate my RX insert so it went back. Then I ordered a Skyline XL from Amazon. It had a manufacturing defect causing the silicone on the strap to melt and stick to everything. Amazon sent a replacement but it also had the same silicone defect. Finally, I ordered a 4th Skyline XL directly from Smith- no more silicone issues and my RX insert fits. Excellent. Can’t wait to ski with them.
I’m a pretty casual skier who only goes on fair weather days, and I wore these goggles for 3.5 days before the inner and outer lenses separated, causing them to fog up in between the lenses. My 10 year old goggles I bought for $40 have never even separated, so I’m extremely disappointed in the quality of these. I’ve had to break the lenses even further in order to be able to air out the fog so I’m not skiing blind. Horrible quality for the money. Based on my research, this is a common problem with Smith lenses. Disappointing.
I like the newer look of these and the lens is really nice. It’s a warm pink colour which is my preference on snow. It has a nice mirror effect on the outside amd the inside has not fogged up yet. A lower nose bridge would have been a better fit but was not an option under sizing. So far so good! Hopefully it will continue to be a non issue, but a low bridge option would have been nice to see as people have different height of nose bridge depending on their ethnicity and genetics. It’s time that we diversify sizing to reflect this because snow sports is enjoyed by people of diverse backgrounds.
Goggles seem to be nice, fit comfortably. I have not yet used on the slopes, but I am sure they will perform well.Photochromic lens is lighter than I expected - Actually a plus for me as I mostly ride in northern VT which is stereotypically overcast - but something a buyer should be aware of. I have read from some reviews that even in sun, the photochromic does not get very dark, but I will update when I get the chance to test this out.I can't speak for the mirrored lens - but for any of these with the photochromic or other non-mirrored lens, the photos do not accurately represent the appearance of the goggles. While the goggles are technically frameless, the frame is visible through the lens, making it look like a normal pair of goggles. Maybe not a big deal ... Maybe not a big deal for darker frame colors, but I bought the street yellow version and they just look like full-frame yellow goggle. Obviously will not affect performance, but definitely a negative for aesthetics, and definitely not what they look like in the stock photo.I also am not a fan of the strap clip as these ALWAYS interfere with helmet strap holders. There has to be a better solution - Or at least provide an option to purchase the same model goggle without the strap clip.3 stars for for a decent goggle with a few flaws.
Great looking goggles that work well out on the slopes. Wide range of colors and lenses got me excited. Purchased with a Variant helmet and 2 extra lenses. The changes on lenses is a nightmare. Really hard to put new lenses back on. I actually ahad to use a screwdrier the push them into place. The lenses get smudged and possibly scratched in the process. The closure on the back also doesn't work super well with helmets. The is in the exact place the helmet securing strap is. I've accidentally unclasped the goggles when securing them on the helmet. Worried this might happen on the slopes.
Thank you for the great goggles! I would like to find out somehow what style of sunglasses with the same technology should I get. I'd like to figure out how to try on the different styles. These goggles made a difference! I got to try them n fog- bad visual condition too, and I COULD SEE where I was going! They worked in full sun as well! THERE WAS NO SIZE indicated on the ordering website or anywhere during the procedure. I was worried about what will be arriving, as I did not get to make a size selection. The goggles had to be fully extended for the elastic to fit over my snowboard helmet, otherwise they were cutting into my face.
I hate that I hate these Goggles, they look cool! I really like the look and feel of the rimless design. The goggles have a great field of view and the ChromoPop lens does a great job at accentuating the colours I can see. However, the process of changing these lenses is the stupidest design I have ever come across. I used to have a Pair of I/O 7s and the process was a breeze, it took maybe 30 seconds. With the skyline it takes me about 10 minutes, with a lot of swearing, alot of dropped goggles, and alot of embarrassment. I watched the tutorial video, practiced a few times and absolutely dread having to change the lens. Unfortunately when the weather changes i find myself keeping the same lens and limiting my visibility. I get alot of compliments on my goggles, but ... Do Not Buy these goggles.
