Cant go wrong with these if you have a bigger head. I have 2 sets. The blue frame and strap and the DDC collab versions. Both came with a dark and low light lense. They fit well with my giro helmet and the blues match my union bindings and volcom pants.Replacement lenses are fairly priced on the smith website.Dont wipe the inside of your goggles when their wet. It messes the anti-fog up.

Great Goggles for a "Flat Face"

I've had the hardest time with goggles. Being Asian, it is hard to find things in the outdoor industry that fit my face properly. So far, I love these goggles! They might be a little big big on my face, but they create a great seal and had no air entering through a gap over the bridge of my nose. I used to have the I/O Mags and when I compared the curve of the two it was huge. The I/O Mags have a curve closer to a "C" shape where the Squads have a more "(" type curve. Hopefully this review will help someone else in my situation, because I know it was near impossible to find any reviews from an Asian/flatter face perspective.

Looks nice…

It’s too delicate of a goggle. Exterior lens is too susceptible to getting scratched. Interior is too sensitive to anti-fog being nicked/smudged. Foam is too weak to goggle being raised up on the helmet. Too difficult to change lens on fly. I’m not hard on gear but this this goggle requires a ton of extra attention to keep it in good form. Looks nice.

My honest review after 93 days in the PNW
2 May 2024

I purchased the Squad XL in December of 23 with my own money in the blackout color way with additional clear and everyday rose gold lenses. I mainly ride on Mt. Hood, but tour all over the PNW. After 93 days this season using these goggles, I can safely that this has been my favorite goggle purchase to date. My favorite aspects of the goggle, are the wide field of view, quick lens changes, and the clean look. The lenses cover a range of conditions from cloudy and rainy to blue bird and feel like Im living in 4k. The goggles are comfy on the face, but can ride around on face. Also, if you ride with them lower on your brow line, Ive found my cheeks get a bit uncomfortable. Also, if you ride with them lower on your brow line, Ive found my cheeks get a bit uncomfortable. The goggles pair flawlessly with the method, but I also used my POC helmet and found the fit to also be virtually seamless. They are also lightweight, block wind, ventilate excellently, and frankly make my vision better than my regular ole eye balls. For the negative. I haven't really been able to wear these under a helmet. Could be the additional harness on the back of the method in conjunction with the goggle strap. Not a big deal.Lenses can fog heavily between lenses when stored. A few back to back mornings, Ive gone to change lenses and found that my clears or blue lenses are all fogged up on the interior of the lens. Super annoying cause then I'd have to either not use the optimum lens, or gently warm the lens up to clear the field of vision.Lens changes can be tricky as the sides are pretty stiff. This gets easier the more you get the hang of it. Perhaps a slight bevel on the sides would make lens instillation a bit easier.Included bag with my pair seems cheap when compared to the goggle. Perhaps a hard case or zip case standard?Overall: I would recommend these as they're a lot of goggle for the price, especially if you can get them on sale.

Not my dream goggles like I was hoping
22 February 2024

First the good: I like the palm camo design, and the lenses are of good quality. The foam seal material seems comfortable and good at moisture wicking. The swapping of the lenses is easy, and the lighter "STRM BLU SNSR MRR" lens lets in enough light for skiing at night with overhead lights at a resort and has a nice warm color tone. The sleeve is nice to store the goggles and additional lens. They are good enough for my purposes, just wish I had spent less (even with markdown pricing) considering the numerous drawbacks. The bad: These are definitely not what I would call XL size. They are just barely big enough for my maybe slightly above average head, have to tighten the strap quite a bit to get them to seal properly. They are just barely big enough for my maybe slightly above average head, have to tighten the strap quite a bit to get them to seal properly. I think over time the plastic will bend enough that they should be fine, just beware if you know your face is on the wider side. Also not super impressed with their fit over my glasses. They are advertised as OTG, but they definitely put a lot of pressure on my glasses in the temple area due to not being quite wide enough to fit the frames. My normal glasses didn't fit at all and I will have to use a backup pair that is less wide. The plastic clips that secure the lens to the goggle frame seem flimsy and likely to break in the cold if you don't baby them. There were several plastic molding scars and areas where glue was over applied to the foam, making the overall material quality feel low. The gap between your eyes and the lens is pretty big, which is a plus because it allows glasses to fit, but a minus because it means you can really see the goggle frame in at the edges of your vision. It especially blocks vision around the nose forcing you to tip your head down more than usual to see your boots. I saw other reviewers talk about the car dashboard effect, and while the green frames have less of an issue than the yellow, it is still present due to the thick frames.

Perfect Mid-Tier Goggle - Goldilocks Price, High-End Clarity
23 February 2023

These are excellent goggles for the money - they occupy that sweet spot between 'normal' everyday goggles and wickedly expensive top-tier offerings with all the bells and whistles. They're clear, don't fog, and the ChromaPop lenses offer great contrast. Biggest benefit is getting a bright sunlight lens and another lens to deal with flat and low light conditions. One star off for being a bit of a pain to swap the lenses - the 'fingers' that hold them in place at the back require a fair amount of twisting force to lock in and I'm afraid I'm going to pop the inner lens loose if I push too hard on them. They interface perfectly with my Maze helmet, which I expect when helmet and goggle are from the same company.

Solid goggles! Bit hard to swap lenses, but good overall
11 February 2022

Love these goggles! Got them for a great price, which was the first advantage, but I also had been meaning to switch to goggles that had two lenses to satisfy different conditions on the slopes. So far these have been great. The colors and design pop, and it looks great with the rest of my similarly colored snowboard/snow wear. The only thing that's a little tough with these is switching out the lenses isn't a super fast swap like magnetic ones. It's not so difficult that it's a burden, but you definitely need to sit down with it for like 2-4 mins to swap, so I wouldn't plan on trying to swap it out in the middle of a run. Just consider the conditions and install the lenses you want to use beforehand. As for the fit, I'm Asian, but the bridge of my nose isn't ... MoreLove these goggles! Just had to maneuver it so that my nose didn't feel smushed, but overall, it fits nicely. Would definitely recommend these goggles for anyone looking for a solid mid-tier setup that also meets different lighting and weather conditions.

Terrible instructions and lens change change desig
28 February 2023

Let me premise this with saying these goggles work OK, but, I guess???, without a matching Smith helmet, they let in lots of wind to dry your eyes. Now I have to buy a $250 helmet?????How can a goggle that costs hundreds of dollars have inept instructions? This one does. Junk. They explain how to install the lens, but not how to remove. You want to call me incompetent? I am a mechanical engineer with 40 years of experience with 13 patents. Here are the instructions: "begin by pinching nose of frame together and inserting lens into lens groove around nose bridge. Once nose are has been properly secured, lock the frame down around the entire lens ensuring that lens keyholes line up with posts in the lens groove." Ok, to pinch the nose requires way more strength than I have. There are no "keyholes" in the lens so worthless. There are no posts in the lens groove so worthless. I can get one side hook to lock in, but cannot get the other side to lock no matter how I bend and try to force it. Also, there are no instructions on how to remove the lens. I ended up just muscling it out, hoping I would not break something. Smith and REI, get real and design correctly and have a real user experience writer tell how to do it,.

Weird yellow reflections, arguably unsafe
16 February 2024

This review is specifically for the bright yellow Draplin "bumble bee" colorway.I really wanted these to work given the high discount from retail but I had the same problem as the other poor review. You can't tell from the photos on website, but the entire inner frame of the goggles is bright yellow, which causes weird distracting reflections. As the other reviewer called it, like a bad "car dashboard" set of reflections. It was also weird in that the reflections differed between bright sunlight where reflections weren't too bad versus in shade or shadows were the bright yellow reflections were really distracting. It seemed like a safety hazard for someone like me who rides in the trees a lot, so I returned the goggles.

great vision!
6 March 2024

I bought the low bridge as I have a "low bridge" but I do feel like they are meant for NO bridge noses. My sinuses feel quite blocked when I wear them but i am learning to breathe through it. Might try to exchange for regular fit. Otherwise goggle is very great. Large and sturdy and well made. The lenses are VERY HARD to change over so I will not be doing it very often, and I am just hoping I don't break them in the process. I couldn't find any instructions on the Smith website for changing them but found lots of YouTube help videos so I could assure I was doing it right.
