SodaStream 1100958011 1-Liter Carbonating Bottle, Black, 2-Pack

We bought these alongside the sodastream fizzi and they are definitely convenient to have around. We usually leave them filled in the fridge with filtered water so we always have cold water ready to carbonate. Then we pour from the bottle and refill with water for next time. They do seem to hold carbonation well. During the times when we don't finish the entire bottle, we re-cap and have dranken the next day. It's definitely not as carbonated, but the seal seems to do a good job of keeping most of the fizziness. They're handy to have around, but certainly not a necessity if you already have the bottle that comes with your sodastream.

Buy Bottle Replacements DIRECTLY from Sodastream

I originally ordered bottle replacements from an online vendor (not associated with Sodastream) on Amazon. This proved to be a big mistake because when it arrived, I saw "Dishwasher Safe" printed on the packing. After reading the reviews for this vendor, which I should have done in the first place, there were terrible reviews of the bottles melting in the dishwasher. Now I wanted to return it for a refund. And worse, this was a "no refunds" item, which I also missed reading when I ordered it. I chatted with Amazon, and their response was, "In this case we're going to issue a refund and there is no need even to return the item"! Case closed. I immediately ordered these directly from Sodastream and I am far better off.

Good Quality Bottles

I have just received my SodaStream 1 Liter Dishwasher-Safe Classic Black Carbonating Bottle twin-pack. The carbonating bottles are hard and substantial feeling as they are made from high-strength BPA-free plastic enabling them to handle the pressure of carbonation. The carbonating bottles are made to withstand extreme pressure changes when used for carbonation and that causes the plastic to degrade over time hence the need for an expiration date for safety. The bottles should be rinsed in cool water and should never be placed in a dishwasher or exposed to any heat. You should stop using the bottles if they are scratched as well as that weakens the plastic. I borrowed a carbonating machine to test my bottles and have been pleased so I will now buy my own carbonating machine. If you have a carbonating machine, be sure that the size bottles you purchase are compatible with your machine.

Love the Soda, Not-so-much the bottles

I’m new to SodaStream… one gas canister used and refilled so far. Love it. I tried and am trying my own flavors, but I also like the SodaStream Ginger Ale and the diet energy drink. But, having bottles that melt in the dishwasher and cost $20 for two to replace is ridiculous. They had a dishwasher safe one, but it is no longer offered. And, $10/lt bottle is ridiculous. But, I do love the unflavored seltzer, too.

Nice for extra bottles

The Soda Stream Bottles are 1 L each and there are two of them in the package. These are the official Soda Stream Bottles, so they certainly fit in the Soda Stream maker. They are dishwasher safe and it says “carbonating bottle”, which lead me to believe that there was something in the bottles to make the carbonation, however, that is not the case. These are just plain bottles – clear for most of the bottle and the bottoms and bottle caps are white. They have markings on them to indicate the water level and “dish-washer safe” and there is a warning on the bottle that says “To prevent personal injury NEVER wash in hot water over 150⁰F or place in freezer. I never knew that empty plastic bottles would or could have an expiration date. The packaging goes on to state that these bottles are “Compatible with Sparkling Water Makers” and goes on to indicate all of the makers brand names. They are BPA free and “Earth Friendly”. The BPA free and Earth Friendly things are seals. There is a third seal, but it is in foreign language. Anyway, These bottles are certainly made for carbonating water and/or making soda flavors. They are compatible with a number of different makers, which is a plus so that you don’t have to buy a Soda Stream brand to use these bottles. Given all of this information, I would recommend them.

So the first advantage of these newer bottles is the convenience of just placing them in the top rack of my dishwasher. WooHoo! They will tolerate my home dishwasher temp, 140 degrees F, since most dishwasher manufacturers suggest temperatures between 140 and 145 degrees F for washing and rinsing. Every SodaStream bottle has an expiration date of approximately two years, marked near the bottom of each bottle. After two weeks of daily use what I love about these bottles is that they hold carbonation for so long. Each time I take a cap OFF of any bottle I can hear the 'swishhhh' sound of escaping CO2. Love It! They are designed to hold 'fizz' for at least two weeks with their specially made caps. They carbonate well as they lock firmly into my SodaStream Dispenser for carbonation. I love carbonated and flavored water so I purchased my SodaStream Dispenser off the shelf from Walmart several years ago. My wife and I use on average two bottles a day together. Sometimes more on hot days and on outdoor outings and trips. We estimate over a year together we have saved over 1,500 plastic, throw-away bottles from the landfill. How cool is that?If you carbonate water I highly recommend the purchase of these SodaStream One Liter Bottles. They save me lots of money over buying plastic, disposable, flavored, carbonated water, bottles over and over again. SodaStream Dishwasher Safe Bottles also saves me money for replacements over their long life, of at least two years. Using SodaStreram bottles also gives me the flexibility of using my own flavors and levels of carbonation. If you plan on purchasing any new SodaStream Bottles make sure they are labeled New, Dishwasher-Safe. They are 'in stock' and available at my local Walmart.

Well made bottles, I wish they were made of glass construction. SodaStream does sell smaller glass bottles, but they’re smaller. The plastic bottles do have an expiration date, mine expire in October 2026. While the bottle that came with my SodaStream expires in April 2025. Both items were purchased this past May 2023. There’s no date of manufacture, just an expiration date. I do wish the bottles were equal to a full liter instead of maxing out at 840ml/0.89QT. But that’s a fairly minor quibble and perhaps the extra 160ml was an engineering nightmare.

Surprised Wife!

My husband is very difficult to please when it comes to holiday gifts and I often just wind up getting gift cards. This last holiday I was determined to get him to stop buying sodium loaded carbonated water in supermarkets and lo and behold, he loves his new Sodastream! Its like one big wonderful toy for him and he immediately wanted extra bottles so he'd have some filled and ready to take to work. Best give I've ever given him! The lemonade was for me and its quite nice!

They fit our Spirit sodastream (but would prefer glass)

We had lost caps, broken bottle bottoms and warped our old bottles in the dishwasher so they didn’t stand up or fit anymore and needed to replace them for our soda stream Spirit. With busy lives the machine was shoved the back of a cupboard for ages as we never quite got around to replacing the bottle and the kids had gone off of fizzy drinks anyway. When we recently cleared out the cupboard and found the machine again we started looking for a glass bottle replacement (thinking we would be environmentally kind) and bought some glass bottles off of Amazon, but rather annoyingly didn’t fit our machine. Back it went into the cupboard! not as sturdy as the old ones

While I like that these fit so nicely in my cup holder and don't go flying around my car while I am driving, I don't like how fragile these are compared to the older ones. I accidentally dropped one in the house before leaving and the whole bottom cracked off--this is the third one to do this. My other new bottle fell off the counter and broke. The older ones could be dropped OUTSIDE the on concrete and remain intact. So I just wasted another $20 on new bottles that lasted me exactly one week
