I like to always have a Vitamin C supplement that I can take on an empty stomach for when I want Vit C but am not eating at the moment. This one is "buffered" which means they add an alkalizing mineral so that Vit C isn't acidic on your tummy. Ester C is a good patented one but I don't like that they use calcium opposed to magnesium or potassium. I recommend limiting calcium in supplements and only getting it from food or Gerolsteiner mineral water since calcium supplements can calcify arteries and tissues. This supplement is good here and there, not daily.

I have been taking the Solgar ester c plus for more than 3 years. Usually I order 250 cap bottle which is of excellent therapeutic quality and efficacy.However, this time I ordered the 100cap version and to utter disappointment noted difference in capsule color and almost zero efficacy ! The Ineffective 100cap capsules are Grey while the Effective 250cap capsules are Beige as shown in picture.On top of that upon reporting to iHerb , I was told this is routine and they don't think there can be any change in quality or efficacy - and they are telling this to a person who has been having this product for past 3 years !Absolutely disappointed!!I have shifted away from this product and recently ordered American Health Ester C plus bioflavoinoids which has higher ... MoreI have been taking the Solgar ester c plus for more than 3 years. High quality product from a high quality company, Solgar. I LOVE it when my vitamins come in a glass bottle, especially dark colored bottle! I think packaged like this the products stay more potent and active than in plastic bottles. We get enough plastic in the environment, I don't need to add it to my vitamins touching plastic. Ester C is a certain form of C that is more gentle and non acidic. This may be helpful for some or if taking larger doses. I didn't get sick once on this product and I like taking it. I will be taking it again.
