This barrier worked well at first, but my new rescue pup has figured out how to get under it and up to the other side, so she's able to get over the console and into the front passenger seat, which isn't ideal. Unfortunately just not right for us!Still seems to be good quality though!

This is the second one of these I’ve owned and researched several options. I didn’t even think about it, but I’m so glad this one is all meshy material so I can see behind me still. It helps my lab ease his anxiety since he can still see me. In my Jeep Grand Cherokee, it fits perfectly and goes all the way to the roof. I also appreciate that it goes to the middle or so of each of the front seats, so mister Ollie doesn’t peek his big head through the sides. Would buy again!! The mesh material is also sturdy so there is none of that pushing through action.

We had a different barrier to try to keep our 55-lb "lap dog" (or so he thinks) in the back seat. It was never 100% effective, and when we upgraded our SUV to a new model, it didn't even fit anymore.Tried this one in the hopes that it would fit and actually keep him in the back row, and so far in limited usage, we couldn't be happier. The other one didn't go as high, so he would put his chin on it and push it down to the point he could even get a paw on it occasionally. This one goes all the way to the ceiling of our '23 CR-V so he doesn't even try to get through it.The center post gives it strength, and the ties on either side fit around the posts of our front row headrests quite easily and snugly. The only thing that doesn't work in our car is there's a piece attached to the bottom that is supposed to secure into the passenger seat and hold the bottom firm to the center console. In our CR-V, the front seats don't have a gap between the seatback and the seat, so I haven't found a way to make use of that piece. That said, our dog is not one who will try to climb under the barrier with how it sits in the car, so we don't really need that part anyway.tl;dr: We love this barrier and it's the first one that has worked well for our dog.

I have a pretty big active cattle dog/shepherd who weighs about 58 pounds. She liked to ride with her two paws on the front console. Dangerous for both of us!! I don't like having her stuck in the kennel in the back either as she can not fully stand. This way, with the Mesh Dog Barrier and a seat cover she can look out the windows, lay down, poke her nose around the corner but not get into the front seat. I wish it was rectangle so that it would cover the corners. She tried to get through the first day and almost got stuck. She didn't do that again! All in all I am very, very happy with it!!
Right out of the box this thing looked to flimsy to hold either of my dogs back. When I looked at it closer, I wasn't sure if the straps were in the right places to be able to attach to anything. Instead of spending more time trying to figure it out, this is still sitting in its box. Maybe the straps are in the right place, maybe they're not. It's cheaper to have a passenger sit in my car to keep the dogs in the back seat.
My goofy young German Shepherd dog's loves to jump into the back seat of my car (which is covered with a dog hammock) and then proceed to place his paws (usually covered in mud) on top of the console between my front seat, check out my drink cup and deposit some slobber and hair on the seats. On long trips, he will often decide that he would like to come sit in my lap while I am driving and without warning start to "ooze" his way to the front. I cannot fit a kennel for his size into my back seat, so I purchased one barrier that fit between the two front seats of my Altima, but it wasn't high enough to keep him from climbing over it to "surf" on the console. I cannot fit a kennel for his size into my back seat, so I purchased one barrier that fit between the two front seats of my Altima, but it wasn't high enough to keep him from climbing over it to "surf" on the console. Not very safe! I tried putting some bungee cords across the top of the car to block the space above the divider, but that didn't work. I was skeptical of the PetSafe Happy Ride Front Mesh Dog Barrier after reading some of the reviews, but desperation and the low price convinced me to try it.The first time I installed the Pet Safe barrier and let my boisterous dog in the car he rammed his head into it before he noticed it was there, but the barrier stayed in place. I know the Pet Safe barrier wouldn't be able to hold up if he tried to persistently push through it (he weighs 101 lbs) or if he tried to chew through it, but he doesn't want to as his issues are less separation anxiety and more "Hey, I am bored and I want to try out your seat for a bit". The fact that the screen is there is enough to keep him safely in the back seat.I like that the barrier's mesh is see-through so I can see the dogs (and they can see me) and I am able to still see traffic clearly in my rear view mirror with no bars or solid fabric blocking my view. The mesh also allows for unimpeded air conditioning circulation in the car (important during Louisiana summers). This barrier reaches to the top of my car ceiling and completely blocks the space in between the two front seats. It took less than 10 minutes to install and will not damage the car's interior. If you do wish to take it down when not transporting your pet, it would be easy to dismantle. If your dog is frantic when in the car and desperate to be with you, this barrier will not stop him because he will keep attacking the barrier until he tears a hole through or worms a way between the barrier and the car seat. But if your dog is just an inquisitive goof ball, then you will probably find this barrier does a great job at keeping the dog in the back seat and you safely operating your vehicle in the front seat. I am very happy with the product and wish I had purchased it sooner!
Our little corgi refused to stay in the back. Her preferred was location perched on the armrest of our Prius between the front seats. Kind of an adorable navigator, but definitely not safe. We'd tried a couple of barriers. Alas, corgis are smart, calculating and determined. This works! I attached to headrest as shown and anchored it by putting the strap around the opening hinges of the very armrest she use to inhabit.
This is exactly what I was looking for! I had a decently large dog who gets very excited when we go to his favorite places and would jump back and forth between the front and the back which is dangerous. If he really wanted to, he could get through this but it does the job of discouraging that dangerous behavior and he usually lays down more often. My only complaint is the bottom anchor does not work the with the front seats I have but he still doesn't push it out of the way. It perfectly does the function I bought for.
The barrier itself appears flimsy but it is expected to not be solid since it folds back up for storage. I installed in 5 minutes. Once you figure out how to tighten the straps you’re golden. Straps are not flimsy and hold the item up great. I actually loosened the straps a bit so the barrier doesn’t rest on my roof so my moon roof slides back and forth. Windows down, the barrier didn’t flop around or make any noise, even though loosened. Mesh is see through and didn’t cover my blind spot and could see just fine out my back window. Covers up the entire open space between the seats. Had an anchor to stick in the back pocket of your car seat to keep the bottom from flopping around. My dog is 22lbs and listens well, so after being told twice he couldn’t come up front ... MoreThe barrier itself appears flimsy but it is expected to not be solid since it folds back up for storage. If you have a big, or excitable dog, this barrier is not for you, they’re comin’ through. All in all im pleased and it was a good purchase for the money.
What a total waste of money! The only thing this product delivered was frustration. I have a 70lb boxer-bulldog and this barrier served absolutely no purpose in keeping him confined to the backseat of my sedan. It was a real pain to install in the first place. The design looks simple and could have been a lot easier to install honestly. But the barrier would just not stay in place, no matter how tight I fastened the straps. I was hoping the dog would not try and mess with loosening the straps. He didn't have to. The poles in the center were so flimsy he was able to twist the entire thing out of shape and crawl into the passenger seat in the front. I've been trying to find a better alternative. I really wish this company would give me a refund as I have no desire to ... MoreWhat a total waste of money! The only thing this product delivered was frustration.
