That said, this one takes overnight to charge the toothbrush out of the box (and it does not include a charger for you to do so). This is a bit frustrating since now you end up having to free up a USB port somewhere (and for a long time) if you wish to fully charge your toothbrush.

I always felt that my tongue was not thoroughly clean after brushing, so I used the toothbrush in conjunction with my tongue cleaner to keep bad breath at bay.In summary, Sonicare uses gentle strokes and pulses to clean the teeth which I found to be highly effective and felt as though I got a better clean than with my previous toothbrushes. I had a Philips electric toothbrush for literally 10 years. It was SUCH a work horse! I absolutely LOVED it! When I wore through the rubber on/off switch I had to break down and get a new one and I don't like change! But I researched the entire Philips line and opted for the cleanest, simplest replacement. The handle is much smaller in diameter than my old toothbrush, so it doesn't feel quite as "sturdy," but so far so good! My next electric toothbrush purchase from Philips is going to be a brush with stronger cleaning power. My current brush is 2x's the cleaning power of a normal toothbrush, but I would like to step it up. I just don't want a complicated toothbrush. Life is too complicated as it is! Oy vey! The toothbrush itself is very strangely shaped with the base housing the battery both uncomfortable to hold and too large in comparison to the brush head. The speed of the brush is great if you want to fling toothpaste off the brush immediately. If that's not your forte then I'd suggest keeping the toothbrush off until it's in your mouth. You may want to leave it off altogether because while the toothbrush cleans adequately, the vibration caused by the brush's speed is mildly awful. The brush head is also strangely shaped and causes me to hit the back of the brush head against to my opposite teeth. ... I understand and applaud the corporation striving to be a socially responsible business, but it will be great to offer guidance on the needed minimal power output for the user-supplied adapter, i.e.: 5v@1a vs [email protected] do give the new style Sonicare a try, which is a joy to hold since it is not much bigger as compared to the manual toothbrush, but still packing the power to get the job done.
The brushing experience is wonderful. My teeth feel much cleaner than with my old electric toothbrushes or even a very careful manual brushing. Some sensitive areas on my gums improved rapidly. A bonus is that the frequency is almost exactly Middle C (C4), so you can tune a musical instrument to it.Negatives (minor): My brush came with a free brush head coupon. The website interaction is a mess, and I was never able to redeem the coupon. Another issue is that when fully-charged and in the charger, my brush beeps every minute or so, which is annoying. Problem solved by leaving it out of the charger. It really does hold a charge for a couple of weeks of brushing, so that's not a big problem.
