Just pick the best bang for your buck. At the required 50-inch size needed to fit my wall unit, Best Buy had one of each in my price range. The ones at the club stores are stripped down cheaper versions which might be OK for guest bedrooms, not for main living rooms.Sound is thru my AV receiver but I guess the speakers are OK. There is a speaker setting for if table or wall mounted.

The picture quality is what you would expect from a Sony Bravia-excellent. As it is at the lower end of the Bravia line, it does not have all of the bells and whistles that more expensive models in this series have but it has a good quality picture and sound for a smaller room and gives you access to streaming apps through Google. The remote is the one feature that is only adequate. It is very small & while this may be a minor issue, it could be a problem for someone who has dexterity issues as the buttons are very close together. Because of its size, functions are not labelled on the remote. This might also be a challenge for someone who is not used to having to memorize what symbol controls what functions. However, the remote issue aside, overall, it is an excellent, solid Smart 4K TV from a reliable company at a reasonable price.

Honestly Great
8 September 2024

Honestly Great. So the Sony B3 line up is budget but it performs better than normal budget TVs. The colours are excellent, blacks are great, it's plenty bright and all the encoding, HDR, Dolby Vision etc works really well, even the inbuilt speakers are pretty good. While most people will say it's a budget TV, you can't expect much, it's not exactly true with Sony. Their colour science is great, the 4k chip works great even thou it's a bit older now and the pannel is plenty bright with no light bleed and pretty good black levels, most of which is because it's back lit led and VA pannels in all except the 75 inch. VA is about as good as you get with a traditional LCD for black levels just lossing our on viewing angles slightly. It's works great with PlayStation and the 100hz motion mostly compensates for not having 144hz and it supports gaming in Dolby Vision with HDR tone mapping and Low Latency Mode. The firmware or rather Google TV is great, any issues are really cause by android rather than anything to do with the TV and Sony actually have added quite a bit of there own into Google TV which makes it better than normal google tv integration.I found that both of the B3 displays in store weren't set up properly and didn't really do the pannel justice.I got the 50inch Bravia 3 and I'm very happy with it. There plenty of options in this category but sometimes it's hard to beat Sony's colour science and the TV itself performs great.Sure you could go and OLED but it's quite a lot more, (I have a LG C3) you could go mini led but that has different drawbacks and if you just want a good tv, that has a nice picture, supports all the normal HDR and Dolby extentions and performs well, easy to use and works well with ps5 I highly recommend the Bravia 3. The 75inch mite be different as it's the only one with an IPS pannel, better viewing angles but mite losses out on black levels. VA gives better blacks, all be it having to sit more in line with the TV.Sony mite cost a little bit more but I find it's usually worth it for both picture quality and overall quality.

I don't usually write reviews but I am so disappointed in this TV I feel I must. I bought this to replace a much cheaper Roku TV of the same size that was having an occasional software issue. We've had a Sony LCD TV for 10+ years that just won't quite so I thought I'd go with another Sony. I'm not a fan of the Google TV OS but as there was not option for a Roku TV of this size I figured I could adapt. My complaint is not with OS specifically, although it has it's own issues, but with the Sony hardware. This TV does not properly sense a new active HDMI connection. It will indicate a new connection along the bottom bar but will then switch to a blank screen. I then had to use the remote to select the appropriate HDMI connection in order the a picture to be displayed on the screen. Other, cheaper TV's, I have will correctly identify the device and switch to the new active connection with no problem, require no input from me. I have also been having problems with the TV not powering on. This happened once a couple weeks ago, but I didn't think much of it at the time. Occasionally a power failure will cause weird issues with electronic devices. However, yesterday, the TV would not power on when I got home. I had to unplug the TV, plug it back in and let it reset before it would power on. I used the TV for a while then turned it off to go do something else. When I came back the TV would not power on again. Unplugged it, plugged it back in, and it would power on. I've have this TV for exactly two months and am now 30 days past the return window. I could've bought three TV's of the same size of several other brands for the price of this one. Now I get to try my patience with Sony's warranty.

SONY BRAVIA 3 TV (75in)
13 August 2024

Let’s go over the many pro’s and few con’s to this television. Starting with size, the 75in Sony Bravia 3 (2024) meets the above average standard for most households. If you’re extra wealthy and can splurge on the higher end models of the BRAVIA, go ahead and access the OLED experience. For the Bravia 3, you’re looking at one of the best tv’s for its price of $999 at Best Buy. I do notice a quality soundscape even without the sound bar, so don’t feel obliged to go full soundbar unless you can. The home interface is probably the only con to this TV as it sometimes gets stuck and won’t allow you to move about without turning the TV off and back on. This was a bit worrisome, but my belief is that the Sony batteries it comes with aren’t the best and you should find new batteries so the controller doesn’t have any lag or error. Otherwise from this, the moving about the home interface is smooth, quick, and aesthetic. I believe the image quality offers a positive differential if you’re comparing to other brands, and a slight downgrade from its Sony Bravia counterparts in the 7 & 9. I will state that a 75in is HUGE for my living room but I love it. We could’ve gone smaller with the 65in, but ultimately, I’m happy with our choice. Consider the tv stand and or mount situation prior to purchasing and be ready for an easy set up if you’re prepared. All in all, I rate this TV an 8/10 and pray it lasts us multiple years of great entertainment.

Though we're not big streamers, tonight we test-streamed content from a few of the streaming apps we occasionally use via our cable box, and the images and sound were great. As the Geek Squad rep was going through our setup today, I saw that this TV has many features that should meet the needs of those who are frequent users of streaming services/apps. We've been Sony TV buyers for a long time and this purchase exceeded our expectations.Additionally, I wish there was a way to recognize the great service our Geek Squad rep provided today. He was so polite, professional and helpful in setting up our TV and soundbar and in explaining our new TV's features to us. He should be commended for the great job he does!

Very Impressed

I’ve really enjoyed the x90L that I bought last year, so decided to give this one a chance as a secondary, bedroom tv.Was a little concerned with low contrast ratings in reviews, but don’t see much difference from the x90L. Nothing that bothers me anyway. Blacks seem nice and dark. Maybe they lack detail in comparison? At any rate, most impressive is that it has similarly wonderful color as the x90L to my eyes. Put picture mode to professional, contrast to 90, gamma to 0 or higher, other settings tweak to taste, and the image is fantastic. After a couple of days, had to unplug for a minute as tv was unresponsive. Hopefully not a sign of things to come, but had to do a couple of resets for the x90L early and haven’t had issues with it since.Volume is a little laggy ... MoreI’ve really enjoyed the x90L that I bought last year, so decided to give this one a chance as a secondary, bedroom tv.Was a little concerned with low contrast ratings in reviews, but don’t see much difference from the x90L. Tv/sound bar hook up sync up very well.

Purchased new Sony/Google when moving house to a unit with smaller sitting room. We have been having problems with the sound systems on previous TVs so added a high quality sound bar. We use a Fetch Box to record free to air so that we can watch at our leisure, eg a series of 6 over two three consecutive nights.1. I am reasonably techno efficient, but the setting up of this tri was too much for me. Either too complex or too many options. Score 10/10 sound quality.3. The whole front north facing wall of our unit is glass. TV is just as good for viewing during the day as night, without needing to pull the blinds. Score 10/10 viewing.4. Every time I do a Google search involving YouTube videos on my Android phone, the videos appears on my available list on the TV next time I turn it on. Score 1to10/10, depending on if you find YouTube a great tool or spam.
