I am happy with my purchase. Any criticisms? - I would have preferred a proper instruction book ( call me old fashioned! ). Yes, one can get the online manual but I’d rather have the real thing. I have yet to discover any reference to the second remote control that comes with the set. ( maybe it’s me!?! ). I feel that the feet are not robust enough for the size of the set. Everything you could want

This TV ticks the box of just about everything you would need in a television. It's software is magical in it's ease of use and efficiency (love that GoogleTV).The 4K is still so exciting and crisp to a level that leaves my mouth agape at times - only enhanced by the humble sizing of the TV.The 200hz screen and HDMI 2.1 has you covered for all next gen gaming needs, as well as limiting motion blur on everything that I watch on the screen, making viewing so much easier on the eyes. There's just so much to love here. The only quibbles that I have with this would be that at times the colour can seem a bit washed out by default (may have a look at settings to see if I can fix this). And the price seems a little steep in comparison to the competition with the ... MoreThis TV ticks the box of just about everything you would need in a television. And the price seems a little steep in comparison to the competition with the same specs. And it seemed this size category of the TV would rarely ever go on special - and when it did, only taking it down a small fraction.Overall marvellous, and I'm so happy that I bought this one.

Great TV

Great TV, but with a few small frustrations. Image is nice and consistent.Downside, aside from the often sluggish interface, is the film mode keeps turning on when I don't want it to.It's a setting that tries to identify 24fps and remove the 3:2 pulldown judder. It doesn't always working often creating weird flashing on some cuts, and consistently does this when the source footage has double frames in. Not uncommon. The fact that the internal software has to run at 60hz is bad enough. Clearly Google can't be bothered making Android run at variable frame rates. It leaves Sony in a position to have to try and correct for this, which it doesn't seem to be able to do consistently without artefacts. But the cherry on top is that when I turn off the feature, it ... MoreGreat TV, but with a few small frustrations. Sometimes just opening up the picture settings menu will fix it for a bit, but then sometime later I start seeing the artefacting again. I'd rather the 3:2 pulldown judder. Please fix.

Overpriced piece of crap

Chose Sony thinking price was reflective of quality & meeting expectations. Nothing could be further from the truth. We have no wifi at our property. My one & only request when selecting a tv was that I could plug in my portable hard drive to the back of the tv so we could watch our movies that were on the portable hard drive. No no no. The Sony media player goes around & around & around saying please wait, please wait, please wait. After a good 5 minutes of waiting I still get please wait & when the movie list finally does load it then says unable to play video. Google problems with Sony media player after you have purchased one & you will find there are a LOT of problems like this & it does not work. Yet their salesman told me the Sony would play the portable hard drive no problem. Yer right. Just crap & this expensive tv is useless for me with no internet available because we live in a rural area. Im done with the Good Guys & this piece of crap.

I bought this TV a few months ago to replace an LG smart TV which was crashing all the time while running apps. My goal was to find a good TV that can run everything in house without needing any extra devices (Apple TV, Firestick, Chromecast). It also has built in Mic for always listening Google voice commands, so works very well when interacting the the Google Home front end when in the media room and no other Google products are nearby.I would certainly buy this TV again for any other rooms in the future that I would like to integrate with. I would also reccomend this TV for anyone else looking for a good TV that links in with a smart home no matter how advanced your smart home is.

This is the TV you buy, when you don’t want to settle for less.I had some extra cash, so decided to treat myself, and a new TV was the plan. Some quick research and the Bravia X85K was the pick of the bunch. My last TV was a Kogan 4K 55” (at least that was their claim). You were in 1080p, 90% of the time and 4K only if it was small. From glitching to sound sync issues and the maybe 60Hz. No, enough was enough. The picture. This is the centrepiece and for a very good reason. With its X1 4K HDR Processor, coupled with Luminous Pro, the picture quality is, quite simply second to none. Crisp, clear high speed action, vibrant, HDR colour depth, with dark shadows and light lights. This is how TV should be.Sound. With its X1 4K HDR Processor, coupled with Luminous Pro, the picture quality is, quite simply second to none. Crisp, clear high speed action, vibrant, HDR colour depth, with dark shadows and light lights. This is how TV should be.Sound. This is the only ‘not perfect’ for me, but there is a reason. It is great sound, but not as great as my Yamaha YSP1600 sound at with dedicated sub woofer. Sure, the sound is good, but it just lacks that final oomph. You can use the built in acoustic auto calibration. It will ‘scan’ the room and adjust the sound profile to suit. Voices are clear, nice trills and some bass, but not thumping bass. It more than does the job.Google! I have a phone that runs on Google, I have a Google hub and nest, heck my Volvo has Google built in! Therefore it only makes sense to have Google built in to your TV. No more searching through each streaming service to find which one has the movie or tv show you wanted. Just ask Google. The menu. This is usually a major sticking point for me and I suspect millions of others. A poorly designed, slow clunky menu system is the worst experience. Thankfully, the Bravia X85K has a great, nay brilliant menu system. With multiple levels, user defined apps, in the order you want them. Unobtrusive offerings of possible movie interests or tv show suggestions, while allowing you to see what you want, on the one screen, easily.Play store. As always with a great system, in this case Google, comes an App Store. In this case we are presented with the Google Playstore. With more apps than I will ever want, need or desire, it is easy to setup the perfect streaming layout. All the while, easily access local media and watch that through the local network. A few games for extra entertainment, and we have a great setup. An added bonus was I was now able to ditch the Apple TV 4K, which was my go to until now. All sorted, in the one unit, using all Google. I love it.Refresh rate. For those his is the number of times the screen is fresher each second. In this case, the Bravia X85K has a refresh rate of 120Hz. What’s this do for us?With a 120Hz refresh rate all of you high speed action will be clear. No longer the slightly blurred car going past, instead a clear, crisp image. Those action scenes have never been clearer. With the 120Hz refresh rate, this offers the benefit to your gaming. Hook up an Xbox Series X or PS5 and get your gaming to the next level. With both systems utilising 120Hz output, you get the nicest image for your gaming you will ever see.Couple this with the image processing and you have the epitome of viewing pleasure. The auto detecting of a gaming console even switches to a low latency mode, to ensure you have the fastest, clearest images and video. The term Smart TV has just had its IQ raised and set the bar so high, no other manufacturer can come close. The myriad of image technology, 4K HDR X-1 Processor, Luminous Pro, Motionflow XR, 4K X-Reality Pro, 120Hz, Auto Low Latency for gaming, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, the features just keep coming. With built in WIFI, Bluetooth, Chromecast, Apple Airplay. Even Alexa can work with this TV.What we have here, is a feature rich, technology engaging television, that couples the absolute best of image handling to produce the clearest, crispest, most vibrant and colourful image, with superb sound, from an easy to use, control and adapt menu system, which you can control with Google and if you please, add the Bravia camera for gesture control and video conferencing. This is the TV, if you want quality, features and the latest in technology. Don’t settle for less, it’s time you treated yourself.

Thoughtful design met Crystal Clear Display
2 August 2022

This TV is blowing my mind away. The flat design makes it ideal for a sleek wall mount for my living room. The edge-to-edge display has beautified the living room too - it's gorgeous. And the 85-inch screen gave the wall a run for its size.Being a smart and an android TV changed the game for me. For example, there is an option to connect a TV Box. I realised I do not need any TV box at all. The edge-to-edge display has beautified the living room too - it's gorgeous. And the 85-inch screen gave the wall a run for its size.Being a smart and an android TV changed the game for me. For example, there is an option to connect a TV Box. I realised I do not need any TV box at all. All the LATEST movies in the cinema right now are on this TV without any other connections outside a home Wi-Fi connection.Connecting to Netflix, Google TV, Prime Videos and Disney Plus is seamless. The TV package has 2 Remote controls. One for the TV set up (and general settings), and the second one has a single touch that takes you straight to Netflix, Prime Videos, YouTube and Disney Plus. This second remote control became the most used after the initial setup. It controls the Soundbar System as well as the TV itself. With My Sony HT-RT4 600W Soundbar System, the Cinema is finally at home. I have looked forward to this moment in a long time.Security-wise, I am totally impressed. With kids around, setting age-related restrictions is as easy as ABC. Individual apps can be restricted, even the entire TV can be locked, and sweetest part is that VIEWING times (hours of view) can be set. I have stopped talking about screen times to my kids (it does not always go unchallenged) but with Sony -X85K, the talks are over. The TV simply goes off after viewing hours has been reached; and when they try to bring it back on, it was locked, case closed! It feels good, haha.Gaming on this TV is an out-of-this world experience, especially with my Sony Inzone 7 headphone. It's just brilliant, with crystal clear details.I was taken aback with the internal memory, which is just 4.4GB. However, I attached an external flash drive, and the TV allowed me to wedge it as an added internal storage (instead of being a removable type). I now have 34.4GB total memory for apps and games.I totally recommend this TV where home security, cinematic experience for homes, and gaming matters.
