Originally I bought this for my VR setup so that I could have a traveling mic on me at all times.Come to find out, the headset is not compatible with wired microphones!So I started to use this for ASMR streams!While it's not a true 360-sound, having the stereo setup allows me to create my goofy little ideas and try dumb things! It's been a blast!

I needed a mike for a video shoot for YouTube. My system had an expensive boom mike but getting it close enough while out of the camera was proving difficult. I nearly purchased a pricy wireless system but decided to try this little wired mike from Sony. Hey, it works great and I didn't need a wireless after all. Wonderful, inexpensive little microphone and I'm glad I have it.

Bought this item hoping it would cut down on wind on the mic while recording. Was also hoping it would pick up my voice from a distance. So far not really impressed with the item itself. A wireless mic might be a better choice.

The mic is good. It does create a little bit of sibilance but not too bad. Besides that point, voice was picked up amazingly, and I had to adjust sensitivity to half way. I'm sure it will suitable for most use cases. I used mine for gaming on my ps5 with a splitter and have only received complements on how clear it sounds. A downside of this product is the wire is a bit thin but the quality of it is good. It did cause concern at first but after some accidental tugs, it can be used with confidence. The price was solid but I did buy mines open box with no missing pieces and a good price.
This product was small and easily could attach to my shirt when trying to record. The audio quality of the microphone is also amazing, just as long as you don't keep the microphone too close to your mouth (ie. On your collar), if you do the audio gets a bit bassy. Otherwise great microphone!
It is difficult to find stereo lavalier microphone and I am really glad Sony did it.At this price point, I found the sound is surprisingly good. I connect them to Zoom H6 with a stereo plug-in power injector.It comes with foam to reduce wind noise. But in my work, I need a hairy windjammer. So, I sewed two Rycote Lavalier Windjammer together and attached to Sony ECM-LV1. It works perfectly.As this microphone requires plug-in power, you probably need to connect it directly to a camera, or a plug-in power injector with stereo support. I found it is quite difficult to find a good quality PIP injector which support stereo sound.Since this is a stereo microphone, if the microphone is not positioned correctly, its stereo image could be difficult to postprocess. ... MoreIt is difficult to find stereo lavalier microphone and I am really glad Sony did it.At this price point, I found the sound is surprisingly good. But this is not a unique problem to Sony ECM-LV1. It is true for all stereo lavalier microphone.The clip is rotatable (snaps at 0, 90, 180, and 270 degree). But is a bit on the loose side, plasticky, and it cannot be removed.Overall, given this price point, I really like the sound quality of the microphone. It beat many microphones with similar price range.
The design of the mic is beneficial for the multitude of garment styles that we wear for easy accessibility and versatility. The sound of the mic was worse than my $10 mic I purchased before it. The sound was low and muffled and changing the hardware used with it did not improve the quality.
The microphone worked great, but I do wish that Best Buy had carried the adapter that it took for me to get connection into my smartphone (TRRS type). I had to go on to YouTube and watch a bunch of videos to figure out how to do it.I ended up using a KINGTOP 3.5mm combo audio adapter cable compatible for mobile phones to get it to work.
The plastic clip might be on the flimsy side but the mic sounds good.No one makes a specific wind furry for this lav mic but the Comica Audio CVM-MF1 works for outdoor windy days and B&H sells it.Although i bought the wind cover from someplace else you do need two of the Comica's, one goes over each side of the mic capsules.
Microphone works well enough when it is working, but it has an annoying and consistent pop as though the wire is broken.Surprising quality issue from Sony. I would have expected better.Or perhaps Sony is resting on their reputation.Either way it's rather frustrating as I can't vlog with it like this.
