Was looking to replace my now defunct bluetooth speaker (10 years old). Looked around at a few options but thought this represented the best quality for money I was willing to spend.Lovely deep sound and easily paired to my iPhone & iMac, remember you need to have the bluetooth enabled on the phone/computer first before trying to pair.The only downside I can find is that when it's charging you get an amber light displayed but it doesn't go off or change colour to something useful like green when it's fully charged, however once switched on there is a battery strength button.Look forward to listening to more sounds via this speaker in the future.

I have had this speaker for 6 months now. I use it at work almost daily. I have always had a higher standard for sound quality, and some (most) bluetooth speakers just don't cut it. This speaker sounds awesome, great bass, clear vocals, crisp highs. Easy to adjust as well, if the highs on your music is too crisp, just turn the speaker away from you... easy enough. This thing has been dropped, rolled around, put through the ringer and it still sounds great. Pairs easily with the one my wife has as well and you can get a true L-R Stereo sound from them. If I were to damage this and it quit working, I would buy another one like it. One of the better bluetooth speakers out there in my opinion.

I was not disappointed, very good sound quality and easily matched my old conventional stereo system. What I like about them is that they are a good size but portable with plenty of base but also the strap allows you to hang them up and that results in a less basey sound if preferred. Like the summary says, everything about the speaker is just very good quality. Feels solid without being too heavy for its size. Pairing is flawless from the different iOS and Windows devices I’ve tried it with. The sound is obviously the most important part and it’s great. Very balanced sound leaning to warm, out of the box. Bass response is surprisingly, again for its size. The highs don’t fatigue even when you crank the volume. Maintains a very clear sound at peak volume and it does get pretty loud. The only thing that would be an improvement is if I get a second for stereo sound, though on its own, it does do good job. Definitely punches above its weight for its size and price. Can’t recommend it enough! The green is a neat color also!
Battery life is excellent, you can press a button and it will tell you roughly the battery percentage. The build quality is great, thing can take a beating which is great because I bring it on hikes and camping. The cord is great for clipping it to the tent or hanging it on my backpack when I hike. Sound quality is amazing and its surprisingly loud for its size. Definitely would fill a room and you have to really shout over it at full volume. You can also pair it with tons of other Sony speakers and have stereo sound in up to 100 paired speakers. IP68 water resistant so you can submerge it briefly which is great not having to worry about it in my backpack. Recent Sony speakers are hard to be disappointed by.
For its price it does offer quite good sound while used with its app-equalizer. Native bass boost is a bit too much, but with slight tweak it can offer good sound for Your indoor/outdoor activities, despite its inability to lay down horizontally in reasonable angle, reffering to its stereo speaker position. It just rolls so speakers are pointing up, not toward the desired angle. You can flip it vertically, but it creates weird sound distortion.Well, in similar price point You can buy jbl flip 6 which offers much better sound dynamics and better bass. You should step up sony ;)
The Sony Extra Bass SRS-XB23 projects sound well and has a decent wireless range of about 20 feet. My main reason for purchasing it was to amplify the sound of my PC and to have the freedom to move about the house without carrying the PC to hear it. The "extra bass" is not a high definition sound quality. At times it sounds muffled like in an echo chamber and the high end tends to be lost. However, this effect can be corrected fairly well with equalizer software as it will allow you to increase the brighter end of the sound spectrum and lower the bass end to your satisfaction. The speaker's then sounds very good and is pretty powerful. Overall I am pleased with this speaker. It is serving its purpose well.
I'm so annoyed with this product I was too annoyed to even return it. Sure it works but the sound is so crap, it barely fills a small room let alone a whole house. I expected more from sony. I honestly want to throw it everytime I realise the volume won't give anymore then a cheap radio. (I always have my speaker down a notch or two as not to blow it) but even at it's highest volume it's still crap. I didn't expect the power of a UEBOOM but I did expect half the sound at least!I wouldn't recommend it and I definitely wouldn't buy them in the multiples for party mode. I've had it maybe 2 months and I'm frustrated that I'm going to have to purchase a completely different product. Waste of money.
