Amazing camera flash. Still working out the kinks, but I love the pictures taken while using it. So much less ISO or shutter speed manipulating.

One of the best bang for your dollar in my opinion. Relatively easy to use. Strong enough flash for dark events as well! Highly recommend.

This new and unimproved version has a feature removed that?s a deal breaker for me and if you?re familiar with it it may be a deal breaker for you as well. Sony In there infinite unwisdom decided to remove the quick shift bounce function and if you?re not familiar with that, it allows you to take images with the flash on the camera in portrait/vertical mode without getting those harsh shadows that every other make of speedlights have and that includes the high end Profoto so needless to say I?m returning this disappointment pronto. Oh and one more thing, the display is cut in half from the previous two versions so it?s very small.

This is all you need. The flash is light for it capability, I was able to take many consecutive photos without the need to slow down or recharge before next flash . I used to used F32M but couldn?t keep up, this new one is way better. One reason is to start with high power one so don?t need to upgrade again
Bought this a week ago and used for one large event of about 250 people. I was a Canon user for over 30 years, comparing to Canon picture quality this is not my choice. I bought sony setup for video filming, but I will not use for any event photography. Hope Sony is performing well on outdoor photography, but images does not give any natural look. Suffering to edit to get to some corrections made my time wast. Canon images what I expos I can sell straight away. But near future I will get my hands on with Sony.
Of all the Sony and Zeiss equipment which I own, this flash is the only major disappointment! If you shoot portraits holding the camera with your elbow above the camera, as recommended by Sony, opposed to with an elbow against your body, you can only bounce the flash off the floor, not off the ceiling. That is because the flash head only rotates into one direction. Now, If you are not using the battery grip, you can still take photographs by shooting in the way not recommended by Sony, holding the camera with elbow below the camera.. However, if you are using the battery grip, you have no choice. You just cannot use this flash.I intended to use this compact flash mainly for fill-in, but as it happens I can only use it as a second flash for off-camera shooting ... MoreOf all the Sony and Zeiss equipment which I own, this flash is the only major disappointment! If you shoot portraits holding the camera with your elbow above the camera, as recommended by Sony, opposed to with an elbow against your body, you can only bounce the flash off the floor, not off the ceiling. I sometimes think that some of the features and their design might be constrained by hybrid nature of the cameras, but not in this case.It is otherwise nice compact flash, which I cannot use as I intended.
Works really well with my Sony A7IV. I use this flash constantly. Very powerful and bright! Definitely a good flash to have for photography.
This is a very well built flash! It’s replacing a much cheaper flashpoint speed light. The differences are astonishing! These are worth every cent in my opinion.
Very powerful flash. It should also do well outdoors, but I haven't tried that yet. This flash gives you more precise control and works very well in the TTL mode. You don't have to use a full flash, but rather a smaller fraction for what is needed. I also use it with a Diffuser that really softens the image.
Compared to the Godox 860iii, the 46 is smaller and feels lighter. It moves the same, although notchier and harder to turn horizontally at first. I can also stand the camera on the lense hood w/ 35mm 1.4gm. I couldn’t do that with the Godox without it falling over. The hot shoe connector slides in like butter. The locking mechanism has a cover to protect the connection. The build definitely feels better. I’m happy with the performance. I don’t think it’s as bright but very close.
