I pre-ordered the Sony MDR-M1, and when it arrived last week I have not been able to take them off when listening to music or video editing as they are so compfortable to use, and sound quality excellent.

The o ring is too small and allows it to come apart. The light itself is not very bright.

After unboxing these headphones. I immediately put them to the test. I listened to some 80's 90's and 20's music on them. And so far they are excellent. The first thing I've noticed was the comfort upgrade from the 7506. These ear cups are deeper and allow for your whole ear to be in the sweet spot. Which makes listening much more enjoyable. The sound quality is great. You can hear all the details from fainted delays to a hard hitting kick. Everything is there. I would highly recommend these to the studio pros.

Work great
Been using it for past 2 days and it’s perfect if you are using it for monitoring or leisure listening. The music recreation is stellar with a wide sound stage. A Great upgrade to 7506s.
Superb Headphones for Hifi music listening!Headphones I own that I compared to the MDR-M1.Denon AH-D2000(closed back),Audio Technica ATX-M40x, (closed back)Philips Fidelio x2hr, Sennheiser HD600 & HD650 (2023 models - open back)I was looking for a pair of closed backs to upgrade and replace my M40x, and was considering the MDR-1AM2, and Audio Technica MSR7b, however; Monitor headphones are more hifi than the consumer grade headphones - neutral, not colored, very clear, amazing separation of instruments, voices, and imaging. They are I would say on par, or almost on par - truthful I have a hard time telling the difference in terms of imaging and soundstage, to the HD600.In terms of bass - it is tight and significantly more audible than the 600/650, ATX m40x. ... MoreSuperb Headphones for Hifi music listening!Headphones I own that I compared to the MDR-M1.Denon AH-D2000(closed back),Audio Technica ATX-M40x, (closed back)Philips Fidelio x2hr, Sennheiser HD600 & HD650 (2023 models - open back)I was looking for a pair of closed backs to upgrade and replace my M40x, and was considering the MDR-1AM2, and Audio Technica MSR7b, however; Monitor headphones are more hifi than the consumer grade headphones - neutral, not colored, very clear, amazing separation of instruments, voices, and imaging. I was not expecting them to be this good based on reviews but most reviews are form audio mixers, I am into hifi listening. My stereo speakers are Neutral and I find them to be better than any other speakers that are colored. The seal is very impressive, more sound isolation than the ATX m40xI highly recommend these if you enjoy listening to your hifi music the way it was intended and recorded not colored by the consumer industry. These are excellent and I am very happy with the purchase. They truly are worth the money to me. If you like meditation, asmr, jazz, soft rock -these are excellent. Just my opinion comparing them to open and closed backs I have owned.Hope this helps some of you out there.
