However, getting to see the new model in person, I can confirm my initial reservations proved unfounded: it’s a really cool-looking console.Sony’s removed the beam of light running atop the console, leaving the slim with a simple matte black top and small PS4 logo. I always found the light bar on the console to be a massive eyesore and an outright annoyance when playing games with the lights off – which is why I’m happy Sony’s ditched it.In its place you have a very simple, elegant (and also welcomingly dim) line of light on the power button.The vertical power and eject buttons have also been removed and replaced with small, “clicky” buttons on the lower half of the console. It’s a simpler, more elegant look that makes mis-presses, which were a regular occurrence on the first PS4, a thing of the past.The angled design is maintained from the older models, though in this smaller and thinner form factor it’s not nearly as prominent. The snazziest change actually comes on the bottom of the unit, with the face button symbols used for its feet. It’s a very cool bit of design.On the front of the hardware the two USB 3.0 ports have been spaced out, with one sitting on the far right and the other just next to the disc tray. It’s annoying that there’s still no rear-facing USB port, as having devices such as an external storage drive or PSVR headset plugged in permanently will make the new, slimmer PS4 look untidy.The right side of the console once again features the iconic square, circle, triangle and cross, but the circle is hollow to allow for the vertical stand needed if you want to place the console upright.The slim PS4 has the exact same specifications and offers the same performance as the original PS4. It is, however, noticeably quieter.My launch PS4 screams like a vacuum cleaner working overtime these days, despite several (unsuccessful) attempts to clean and remove dust. The constant whine of the machine is present whether I’m playing a game from a disc or the hard drive, or when I’m simply streaming Netflix. However, this new PS4 is absolutely whisper-quiet.Not only is the console smaller and better looking, but it’s also less power hungry. I put the PS4 Slim to the test against my launch unit, comparing it by using three games: The Witcher 3 (on disc), PES 2017 (on disc) and Paragon (digital). You can see below the difference in peak power usage across all three titles. The console has a plastic chassis with a curved top surface and a combination of glossy and matte finishes. A top-loading optical drive lets you insert and remove games without the worry of a motorized slot that could wear out and leave a system useless. I've had my PS4 since Black Friday about 4 years ago. And I do enjoy it. It does have a couple of cons and let you know how to clean a system taking it apart can be very overwhelming and it does overheat. To rectify these you can keep the vents clean using compressed air that doesn't leave moisture behind and purchasing a cooling system from Amazon that will keep air flow going through it so it doesn't overheat. Also don't stack stuff on top of it that's a bad thing. You want to be careful whenever you lose power or unplug it accidentally have the power strip shut off etc. Because this can and we'll have the potential of damaging your hard drive. I myself have two one a two terabyte and won a 1 TB. Have never had any problems with them you just have to remember that before you unplug them that you go into your settings under storage devices and deactivate it so you can take it off your system without damaging it as well. I haven't had any major problems with my system except for the hard drive appears to be getting slower and slower after each update that is put out for the PS4 and 5. So eventually I'm going to have to convert over to the PS5 to keep all of my games and everything intact. The PlayStation 4 does play DVDs and music CDs if you want to use them in that if not you can download Spotify to your system and that kind of alleviates the need for any type of music city. Gameplay on it is fluid it does have a few hiccups because of the processing speed is slower than a PS5 but hanging out with your friends that have a PS5 is not going to inhibit your gameplay in any way. It just has you spawn in a little slower than they do because the PS5 has a higher processor. Now with the PS4 controller since they really aren't producing them in the quantity that they were when it first came out I would highly recommend that you treat the ones you have with care learn how to fix them or find someone to do it for you. Eventually they're going to stop production on them and you're pretty much stuck with either generic ones or ones you get third party either way you get what you pay for. Now all of that being said I still would recommend this to somebody that cannot afford a PlayStation 5 it is a reliable system and you'll be able to get hours of gameplay for you and your family and your friends. And it's easier on the pocketbook than the PlayStation 5.

There were so many great games that got featured on the PlayStation 3. The ps2 had disk drive issues and the hdmi port would go out. How did the ps3 fair? Overheating. It could play the games that had intense graphics from higher frame rates and different game engines, but it could not handle them. If you were lucky, your ps3 still works and you did not have to replace the fans, place it near a cooling area, nor did yours sound like a car passing by. They may have taken memory cards away and allowed you internal storage on console, but it was never enough for more than a few games of the year.

I bought a PlayStation 3 from mega music exchange on the east side a year and a half ago, unfortunately I turned it on a few weeks ago and I got a pixelated green screen and I was unable to save my game data. I searched Amazon for a new PS3 and I was able to find one for a reasonable price through Amazon renewed; it came with a 90 day warranty. It arrived on time and in excellent condition. it didn't come with controllers or other accessories, I had a controller and power cord from the old ps3 and I was able to plug it in and play madden 25 right away. this ps3 is loaded with Netflix which I plan to activate very soon when I get time as I spend most of my time at work. Absolutely terrible

I did trust Walmart. I had no idea about this marketplace, and I had no idea who Electronic Express is. This product was delivered used damaged and extremely dirty with the control that was completely broken. It looks like it came from somebody’s garage from storage. It was not professionally checked by anyone from Walmart as the registration process claims that it is.. This would never have left any professional corporation business especially deemed as re-sellable. Unfortunately it was a Christmas gift for my son and you disappointed my child. I’m sending a picture of how it was delivered with line, paper and inside of a Macy’s bag shipped in a Amazon box very used box. Please beware and do not shop with electronics express through the marketplace.

PS4 Works Great!

I got my station quickly and had no issues with the seller. The PS4 works great and didnt seem to have any issues. The only negative thing I had to say about this purchase was one of the controllers. The black controller has been working great but the white controllers buttons didnt seem to work. Ive tried using the controller and charging it to see if that will help, but it hasnt shown any signs that the buttons work. This was a little bit of a disappointment but seeing that I can do just fine with one controller, Im not upset. Overall Im happy with this purchase!
