I researched quite a while before deciding on this turntable. I have many vinyl records from the 1960s onwards which I had always been hoping to play again, ranging from pop to highly classical. This turntable exceeded expectations with its bluetooth connectivity and ease of assembly (which was minor). Happy to say my records sound fantastic, and took me down memory lane in a magical way. It connected to my Bose speakers perfectly, and produced the expected great sound. I hadn't wanted to spend a lot, and this fits the bill perfectly. It arrived super quickly, the week before Easter, and I definitely recommend this product. Another plus is its classy appearance, looks very smart with my other entertainment gear.

This review is for the experience of purchasing an Open Box turntable from Best Buy. I like to support refurbishment and open box reselling to cut down on waste but still have high standards so I chose the "Excellent" quality level item when purchasing this turntable. It only saved me $30 from the sale price of a new item, but again it was more about supporting the program and cutting down on waste while still getting a "like new" turntable that I'd been eyeing for a while.Upon receipt, I opened the package to discover the dust cover is riddled with scratches and scuffs and has an unknown substance glued on the center of the top side. Rather than "excellent" or "like new," it looks as if someone used and loved this turntable for years and then decided to trade it ... MoreThis review is for the experience of purchasing an Open Box turntable from Best Buy. Excellent value for money

I have ended up with this deck after trying a couple of more expensive Bluetooth decks and being disappointed. The service from Bernie in the Customer Services team was brilliant and I am really impressed by the attitude of Richer Sounds (why is this the exception; all businesses should be like this?!)I cannot fault the Sony deck. It was simple to set up and pair with my BT speaker. I will only be using it with BT until I upgrade my living room sound system with an AVR with phono inputs. The sound quality is limited by the BT speaker but is adequate for allowing me to listen to vinyl again. I am happy with the sound from a £220 deck. The automatic arm was not on my original wish list but I have got used to it quickly. The BT has been faultless so far (2 weeks - used continuously every day as I work from home) which was not the case with the more expensive decks. It is obviously is at the budget end of the price spectrum and it feels slightly lightweight as a consequence. The styling is unexciting but the controls are well laid out, a decent size and accessible (the Elipson deck at £x3 had a tiny button on the rear for pairing BT!). I will see what the sound is like when I have wired it up to a decent amp/speakers but as things stand I am very happy with it and have been pleasantly surprised by it's competence and reliability. At the price, I don't think it has any faults. Good value, simple setup, works well, sounds good
9 August 2022

I bought this as a first turntable for my daughters to play in their bedroom. It was quick and easy to set up. It worked well right from the start. It sounds fine for the price. I have more expensive turntables that sound better but this is surprisingly good for a modestly priced TT. There are cheaper Bluetooth TTs available but this one just seems to get the balance right between quality and price. We have it connected via the inbuilt phono stage straight into the aux input of a powered speaker. It sounds about right. We've also tried it playing to Bluetooth headphones and that worked fine.Overall, a simple and good sounding entry into vinyl.

It All Started With "The Wall"

This is my first record player that I have owned since 1987. Back when record players were a staple item of entertainment the high-end units were fully automatic and sounded good. Yeah, I know, there were many other features back then that made a turntable top of the line but those were out of my strata, the features that we looked for had the simple conveniences that I listed; my bar, my standard.Anyway, this record player has those features and sounds amazing. I had no idea that this budget priced record player would perform so well and has dragged me full tilt back into vinyl music. It started with The Wall as a Christmas present and now my collection has gone well beyond that. The cartridge is not replaceable, however I have upgraded the needle, (oh sorry, the ... MoreThis is my first record player that I have owned since 1987. I rediscovered vinyl a few years ago thanks to a colleague who refurbishes old turntables. The one I bought from him was great but huge and heavy, so I wanted something a bit lighter and easier on the eye, and this Sony fit the bill.First impressions are a bit disappointing. It is very plasticky and has to be assembled, and I immediately made a mistake. The instructions aren't very clear if I'm honest: you need to attach the turntable to the base, threading a rubber belt around the bottom of the turntable and a metal pin, however there are two pins which look virtually identical, and I threaded it around the wrong one. Tip: the pin is the one at the 10 o'clock position, not the one at 3 o'clock. Tip: the pin is the one at the 10 o'clock position, not the one at 3 o'clock. Once the turntable is in place, attach the lid (clear plastic, and a fingerprint magnet), plug it in, and you're ready to go.The turntable works with 7" and 12" singles and LPs, and I guess that 10" records would also work but you may need to manually lower the arm. 33 and 45rpm are selectable but 78s won't work. To start the player you pretty much just switch it on at the back, and push a button at the front, and it does the rest for you.Output is via Bluetooth or audio cables, which are attached, and it seems can't be removed. Bluetooth pairing is simple - a button at the bottom left of the base puts the turntable into pairing mode, and it paired with my Logitech Wonderboom speaker instantly. There is no volume control on the turntable so you control this either via your amplifier (if used) or your Bluetooth device. The sound is really good, and we've had a number of "vinyl nights" since getting this, and have thoroughly enjoyed rediscovering our old records. All in all, it looks good despite the plastic build, sounds good, and comes from a brand you know already. We love this turntable.

Seems Cheap
8 November 2022

Does everything it says it does, but I returned mine for two main reasons:For one, it seems like a very cheaply made piece of kit. Lightweight, even the phono leads are hardwired (to save money) which means they are forever hanging out the back of the system - fair enough on a hardwired system, but this is also Bluetooth so nice to be wire free, surely?Worse though, were the buttons. Two of which were fine and quite, soft-clicking. But the on-off switch gave that enormous hollow/rattling click (like a late 70's tv set!). I'm not sure if that's because it was faulty, or because that's how it is, but it's poor from Sony when the other buttons are soft and quiet. It brought the whole unit down and so I returned. Very nice, simple, entry level turntable

After researching lots of different turntables, I settled on this one. Sony are a trusted brand name, and this turntable is well reviewed across the internet. It was easy to set up and ready to play within a couple of minutes of opening the box.I initially wired the turntable to my Denon DM41(which the phono preamp enabled me to do easily) and was immediately happy with the sound quality. After that, I tested the Bluetooth functionality (again with the DM41) and was again very pleased with the sound quality, there is a slight delay with the bluetooth, but once it is playing, the only time you would notice is when you lift the stylus, or if you have the lid open and can hear the acoustic audio from the record itself (the lid blocks this perfectly though). It is ... MoreAfter researching lots of different turntables, I settled on this one.
