Tonal balance is really very good and remains so up to rather high volume levels (and they really are high). I listened to a variety of music all streamed via Bluetooth from my iPhone and was also somewhat surprised by what an enjoyable speaker it really is.Nothing was or gained or lost via optical input and again the speaker put in a very good performance with no harshness or listener fatigue.I tested in a room that was 15’ by 25’ feet and in that room I found the ULT function a bit overblown for my personal taste, but I can imagine outside, or in a large room, or if you just like lots of bass, it works well. Certainly it didn’t seem to introduce any distortion.ConclusionIts possibly a niche product but is extraordinarily well executed. Build quality is excellent with no signs that it struggles delivery high volumes, and to be honest, a lot of fun.

First impressions are “WOW!”: It’s huge.. and heavy, at just under 30Kg, could actually work indoors, in a large room, as it’s a nice piece of furniture, for a cinema night in. But you’ll never feel it’s potential if that’s where you leave it. Mine now sits in my garage next to a power extension lead ready to extend out to the garden – the power lead provided will never suffice. It looks great: all matt black plastic, with two small wheels (they could be larger really) to aid moving around; you’ll be thankful for the styled halo around the top to hold onto as you position it outside in a large space and enjoy this as it must be. You may want to get some help carrying it over grass or a gravel drive. It’s loud, really loud, but also very clear across all ... MoreFirst impressions are “WOW!”: It’s huge.. and heavy, at just under 30Kg, could actually work indoors, in a large room, as it’s a nice piece of furniture, for a cinema night in. You may want to get some help carrying it over grass or a gravel drive. It’s loud, really loud, but also very clear across all frequencies, with two tweeters, two midrange tweeters and a woofer to seriously impress, enhanced with the two UTL deep bass options. There are party lights top and bottom, and even a surprisingly effective karaoke / DJ microphone. No Wi-Fi connectivity, but it has Bluetooth 5.2, and a hidden rear compartment near the top with three inputs for an optical connector (with 3m cable included), USB and an audio jack.To get things started, install the Sony Music Centre app on a mobile device. I had no problems connecting and find the app is the best way to start it up as opening Bluetooth setting just takes you to the app regardless. You can decide to keep the Bluetooth on standby so that as long as the speaker is powered you can connect. There are other Power options found in Settings, which itself is located at the bottom of a list of items under the picture of the speaker, starting with “My library”, then significantly Fiestable, then the input options and then the any music apps you have installed on your device. Also under Settings are Sound, Illumination, System and Management of Bluetooth. The Sound option provides two ULT bass / power options and a custom, which in turn enables a customisation equaliser if you prefer. You can boost the TV sound via the optical cable, along with an option to prioritise Bluetooth quality or connection (supporting LDAC). Another useful setting is the illumination, which has five different lighting options – but if you install the Sony app Fiestable, you can start this app within the list and play with a multitude of lighting / DJ settings. Try the Bluetooth Audio at the bottom of the app list – volume can be increased more incrementally this way compared with most volume controls on a device. The control panel is illuminated and consists of a power button, the ULT button, the usual playback controls, Bluetooth pairing, volume, light functions, echo and DJ functions, all worth a try. It is water resistant, so great to place a drink, but also handy for a mobile device, which can charge from the USB port at the rear. The microphone is a real surprise in how good it is. Only requiring two AA batteries (included), it pairs seamlessly with the speaker, and has been given a place either side of it in the form of two retractable mic holders. You won’t put it down though, it’s a lot of fun. The app, Fiestable and the control panel have a selection of Karaoke / DJ settings you can use.Even though this is clearly not a stereo speaker, you can pair it with another ULT 10 for that effect, but the app also allows grouping with other compatible Sony speakers, and although it might take 50 seconds or so to establish the connection, the results can be very impressive, given a large open space and a lot of friends. This is a beast of a sound machine, music you can really feel as well as hear. I’ve tried all different types of music, including some big movie soundtracks: the clarity and power never really disappoints. But it’s for those that have the space, no worries about annoying any neighbours, and plenty friends that enjoy karaoke.

There's also a USB port for charging devices, while they sit nicely on the built-in device stand.I sang along horribly to several songs and while my voice sounded clear via the wireless mic, the cats outside didn't seem to appreciate my singing. This speaker also comes with wheels, because you'll need them to lug around its 50lb heft. What it doesn't come with is a battery, but once you turn up the volume, you'll realize that a battery wouldn't power this unit for very long anyway.Overall, the Sony ULT TOWER 10 is a speaker better suited for larger parties, outdoor spaces, and events such as weddings more so than a home or backyard. I believe one could opt for a much smaller, less expensive speaker for smaller gatherings. With that said, the ULT TOWER 10 is an incredible sounding, huge speaker with a hefty price tag that will leave people wanting to justify purchasing it for their next karaoke party.

[Rewarded Review] Great Sound And So Much Fun

Sony's ULT Tower 10 will look great at any party. The numerous speakers are in a tower case which is quite tall. The first thing I noticed about it was it size. It stands very tall and weighs a lot. Due to the size and weight, it ends up being a little awkward to handle the box. Once out of the box, it's a little easier as Sony thought ahead and added a set of wheels on the bottom rear of the tower. You can maneuver it around by leaning it back onto the wheels and steering it where you need it to go.Sony included two microphone holders (one on each side), a mic/guitar port, optical in port, USB-A charge port, and a 3.5mm audio in port. Also there is a slot on the top toward the rear where you can seat a tablet or phone. My 12.9" iPAD fits in the slot. The included microphone connects wirelessly to the tower and provides good sound quality for any karaoke night. I do wish Sony had included a second one though. You also have batteries included for the microphone and Sony also include an optical audio cable. The sound from the speakers is clear and it has a massive amount of base for a single tower. I didn't find it lacking regarding base. If you are going to use this as a TV speaker, keep in mind that it is very heavy on the base, but you wouldn't have any issues with clarity from the tweeters or the midrange speakers. You have two ULT settings which is simple enough to change by pressing the large ULT button on the top of the tower. Also on the top is the power button, and the touch panel for lighting and volume. It's easy to get to the controls and is intuitive. For wireless control, the ULT Tower 10 supports the use of the Music Center app. This allows you to connect to, control, and configure your ULT Tower 10. Through the Music Center app, you can check the firmware, set the lighting, control the volume, etc. I found the app to be easy to use and I like that I don't have to use the controls on the top of the Tower 10 unless I want to. I can sit back and control all of it's features without having to walk up to it. The Music Center app also supports/integrates with Fiestable for when you have everyone over for Karaoke or party night. The lights in the Tower 10 are very bright. Much brighter than I expected. In the future, I would like to see Sony add in the same lights along the length (top to bottom) of each corner of the Tower 10. I think that would add to the lighting effect, but as it stands, the lights are very bright as is.I'm really liking the ULT Tower 10. Using the ULT Tower 10 for Karaoke is so much fun and the built-in lights are so bright, it adds to the mood. If you are looking to step up your parties or just looking for a karaoke speaker and microphone combo, you wont go wrong with Sony's ULT Tower 10 Party Speaker. I'm very happy with mine and I would recommend considering the ULT Tower 10.

[Rewarded Review] High-Quality Compelling Sound
21 April 2024

This Sony Party Speaker delivers a compelling sound that is second to none. The Sony ULT Tower 10 Party Speaker features a 12.6-inch woofer, 2 Mid-range speakers, and four tweeters. The Sony ULT Tower 10 Party Speaker features a 12.6-inch woofer, 2 Mid-range speakers, and four tweeters. Together, they produce rich, deep bass and clear, crisp treble. The speaker came with a wireless microphone, an optical cable, and a power cord. The ULT button on the speaker's top side controls two different sound modes. Press the ULT button once, and it activates ULT1 Mode, which accentuates deeper, lower-frequency bass. Pressing the same button again activates ULT2 Mode, which gives you a more pronounced, powerful, punchy bass.I recently used the speaker at a school volleyball game. The sound emanating from the speaker amazingly filled the school's gymnasium. The students and school faculty enjoyed the speaker's sound (voice and music) and ambient multicolor lights. The Sony ULT speaker weighs approximately 63 lbs and is approximately 43 inches tall. The ambient multicolor lights sync appealingly with the music. In the dark, it swells your space with color. The speaker has two nicely placed compartments. The top compartment controls a second microphone or a guitar connection and a level knob to control the volume. The second compartment is in the rear of the speaker. It houses controls for a USB, an Optical connection, and an audio in jack. I used that compartment to connect the speaker to my television using the Optical cord to watch and listen to music videos. This compartment also has a port for a USB or portable audio device. The USB connection also serves as a charging port for a portable and compatible USB device. The speaker's top has a panel that controls the use of the wireless microphone. With just one touch, you can include echo features that affect your voice when you sing or speak. There is also a key control on the same panel. I used it to change the key of a song I sang. The touch panel has another feature. It lets you activate or deactivate the TV Sound Booster function. The speaker's aesthetics are appealing. The body is black and is made of high-quality plastic with handles that can be used to move the speaker by rolling it using the plastic wheels attached to the bottom of the speaker. The Sony ULT Tower 10 Party Speaker looks excellent in any setting. The pairing of my Bluetooth device was effortless. I downloaded the suggested Sony Music Center App and was able to navigate the different features of the app to control the speaker (music, lights, equalizer). As mentioned above, I especially enjoyed the TV Sound Booster function in the app. It enhanced the sound of the audio-visual content of my favorite videos. The bass was deep, and the high-pitched sounds were realistic and genuine. I felt like I was immersed in a music arena. The Sony Music Center app automatically integrated my cellular phone music library and two music apps. The app also included a feature called "Fiestable." I used "Fiestable" to enjoy karaoke, DJ effects, and speaker light control. The speaker also offers the ability to connect two Bluetooth devices concurrently, which lets you play music from one device to another without reestablishing Bluetooth connections. Overall, all of the speaker functions worked seamlessly. The Sony ULT 10 Bluetooth Speaker is an excellent Bluetooth speaker with the exceptional sound and premium build quality. This speaker will provide you with years of enjoyment.

You may also select a multiple colors button and different colors will change throughout the speaker. The speaker is equipped with 2 wheels and the top is designed so you can grab the speaker as a handle which you can tilt and drag to any spot there's an outlet. The mic included is very responsive and has amazing quality as it picks up on even the lowest whisper. There are two separate mic holders on either side of the speaker which pop out and hide when not in use. The speaker comes with one mic but you can easily plug another mic in to have multiple karaoke singers have a duo. The mic has an on /off button and a volume button and stays connected even when the optical connection (wire included) is connected to your tv. You can easily be the MC (Master of Ceremony) and introduce images displayed on a screen while music is playing along with images. An echo feature compliments the use of the speaker for an added fun party experience. The weight of the speaker is heavy but feels sturdy and well built. When turning on the speaker on or when turning on the ULT base boosting features, be aware you can get a loud booming sound if the volume is already on if you're in progress in listening to music, watching a program. You may want to lower the volume before you select the ULT button so you don't startle anyone near the speaker. This versatile speaker is an all-in-one must have for anyone who really enjoys parties, music, movies, tv shows, karaoke, DeeJaying, playing guitar/bass or even for large presentations.I highly recommend Sonly ULT Tower 10 Party Speaker.

[Rewarded Review] Massive high end sound and huge fun!

The Sony ULT Tower 10 is a Bluetooth party speaker that brings the club right into your house with party lights and massive bass that shakes you to the core.Standing at close to four feet, one and a half feet wide and weighing over 65 pounds, it looks powerful and ready to party. Made of smooth hard plastic, it has a curvy smooth design with all the corners rounded. The big square woofer behind a metal grille, occupies more than half the tower and sits in between an upper and a lower midrange speaker. Four tweeters, two in the front, looking like small eyes, and two in the back sit atop the tower. Two built-in back wheels facilitate moving the speaker around despite its weight. Four tweeters, two in the front, looking like small eyes, and two in the back sit atop the tower. Two built-in back wheels facilitate moving the speaker around despite its weight. It comes with one wireless microphone that you can place on either of the two microphone holders on the side of the speaker. An optical cable is also provided. From the top panel controls, you can play music, be a DJ, create a light show or you can do it from the comfort of a couch through the Music Center app on your phone or tablet. You can even add some vocals with echo effects for karaoke nights with the wireless microphone. If you want more vocals, you can plug in an additional microphone or make some beautiful noise by connecting a guitar. Additional connections at the back include a USB-A connection to charge your phone or other small gadgets, an optical in and a simple Audio in connection.Set-up is quick and simple. First you download the Music Center App and then you pair the speaker to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth. The Music Center app lets you connect up to 100 speakers which is impressive for a home app. The app has a simple and well designed user interface and sits on top of your music apps to get your playlists and to connect the speaker in different ways. It lets you control the lighting effects and different sound modes and power off the speaker. With the Bluetooth on the standby option you can also turn it on remotely.First weekend with it, I organized a get together at the house and it was the star of the night. From rock music to hip hop, reggae, salsa, some reggaeton and a little country everybody was left impressed and asked for specs and so many other questions. The bass is really powerful and stays solid at high volume and the speaker stays stable and doesn’t shake which is a credit to the good quality build. Two sound modes called ULT1 and ULT2 are offered. From my experience, ULT1 gives more emphasis to the deep bass while at the same time reducing the highs and mids, while ULT2 amplifies everything and shows the ULT Tower 10 true power. There is a custom equalizer option which I have become a big fan of. This speaker truly shines with its impressive balance between the highs, the mids and the lows. You play it as loud as you want and it never loses that enveloping sound. My biggest surprise is that it is much more than a party machine. It can be played at normal volume and the quality of the sound is well balanced with clear highs and midrange and tight solid bass that is never boomy and overwhelming. The light show is a 360-degree display of beautiful colors both at the base and at the top that respond to the beat of the music. I also have it connected to my TV with the optical cable and despite being placed next to the TV, on TV enhanced mode, the sound elevates movie and sports nights. For action movies, ULT1 sound mode is the way to go with the TV Booster option checked.Every time I use it, the Sony ULT Tower 10 never ceases to amaze me with its endless power and outstanding sound. It will entertain any party with its dazzling light display and karaoke features. Its musical performance will impress many sophisticated audiophiles and all music lovers. It's a high end speaker masquerading as a party speaker. Make sure you experience it at least once and you’ll be hooked.

[Rewarded Review] Room filling "and more"

There’s a power cord, wireless microphone and a very welcome optical audio cable along with a quick setup guide and manual. The speaker itself feels very well made and sturdy, there’s a reason it weighs as much as it does and feels like a quality product.Setting up:Setting this up is about as simple as it gets, just plug it into a wall outlet “no battery in this one”, turn it on and pair with what you want to listen through “Phone, TV, Computer” we pared it with everything to test out connectivity and we weren’t disappointed. I also used the optical cable to hook to the TV since they were close and that works perfectly.Use:This is one very large and interesting speaker; the sound quality is better than anything we have heard in years. The light show is interesting and fun when listening to music, way too distracting when watching a movie. When setting up you’ll want to install two apps “we use Android” the Sony Music Center and Fiestable apps. The Music Center give you control over the speaker and has a full equalizer with presets, or you can adjust and save your own.The built in light show is also pretty wild and has 5 different presets “strobe being the wildest “you don’t want to be light sensitive with this setting”, you can also disable the lighting effects though, but we did notice that no matter what the big ULT button on top cannot be adjusted off so it has a little light show all its own, at least it faces up.Now sound quality is way better than we expected “and a lot louder too”, the speaker being as large as it is pumps out a very impressive amount of volume. I was trying out just how loud it is playing some good old metal music and with the speaker set to ½ volume, our sound meter at 20’ away was registering 91db, around 110db at 1’, that’s loud, and the room we have it in is 16’ wide by 20’ long with high ceilings and it was able to produce that volume at 20’ is simply amazing and it could go a lot louder, just getting painful at that point going up and it was already rattling stuff on the dining table. And at that volume the music was absolutely clear, no distortion at all, with the bass being enough to where you could feel it on your insides. Using the ULT button is basically using two different equalizer presets one with deeper bass the other shallower, I found tweaking the equalizer to our liking is what works best for the room size we have, it’s great you get this option.Next we played a movie and it completely blows away our Sony soundbar for volume “naturally” and clarity, movies never sounded this good and completely filled the room with sound. The way the speaker is made you won’t need two of them as this is a single full stereo setup and I was impressed the way it separates sound and sends it to the correct area; it sounds as good as a multi speaker setup “at least for us it does”.The included wireless microphone is so handy “the speaker even has a swivel out mic holder”, if you happen to have someone in the house that likes karaoke, being wireless they can switch it on and start in from anywhere “may be a bad thing too 😊”. But it is clear, and we tried it at around 30’ away and it didn’t loose signal at all. Going to be a noisy karaoke night here now as my wife does like singing along. Conclusion:This is one huge speaker weighing in at 63lbs and almost 4’ high, it has a large footprint that you’ll have to consider when purchasing. There are built in wheels that help immensely when moving around “although they don’t work that good on deep carpet”, so you’ll want some help moving this around. There are plenty of input options, from a standard audio jack, optical in, USB “which also charges”, a full-sized audio jack for another microphone or guitar “yep can be used as a guitar amp”, and Bluetooth, so you have plenty of ways to hook up your devices. I even tried a little handheld MP3 device using the headphone jack and that worked great. We have it paired with multiple Bluetooth devices and you’ll have to be careful if you have “like us” paired to the computer to play music because if you are jamming not paying attention an email alert will make you jump out of your chair. The touch panel on top is very sensitive and easy to use, and you can select sources and adjust lighting and volume easily but it’s much easier to control everything with the app on your phone or tablet, and since there’s no wireless remote “which would be nice if available” you have to use your phone to control volume remotely unless you want to get up and change settings at the speaker. You can adjust volume to from other devices too “like your computer” but if your TV is like our the optical out does not have a volume control and up to the device you are hooked to so you must use your phone for volume control “why a separate remote would be nice” or get up and change at the speaker. Our community clubhouse has a few gatherings where they could use a nice speaker system to use “they have an old Bluetooth boom box they use” so we’ll be taking this over there for those as it’s plenty powerful to fill our gathering room.If you are wanting a huge, powerful, very loud with outstanding sound quality speaker then you should be putting the new Sony ULT Tower 10 on top of your shopping list.

Received this HUGE Sony ULT Tower 10 speaker and was so excited to give it a try. I downloaded the Sony Music app which gives you a large amount of options for set up including a 7 band equalizer. The app also has a Fiestable section that has DJ CONTROL, ILLUMINATED, KARAOKE, MOTION CONTROL, PARTY PLAYLIST, PARTY LIGHT and VOICE CONTROL. You can also control the speaker with your voice by giving commands to Fiestable. There is a recognized list included in the app.On top you'll find touch capacitive links that offer Bluetooth, Audio In, Optical In (TV SOUND CONTROL), USB, a Play/Pause, Light and Volume setting. Also there's a pitch or Key Control and Echo for the wireless microphone near the top. To the right of that you'll find a soft rubberized flap that lifts up and inside are the Guitar, Volume and a 1/4" input for your cords. With the flap down this Sony top looks sleek, colorful and smooth. The Power Button and ULT Button, located across the bottom of panel, are actually push in types. Then on the outer right side there is a pull out hook which holds your wireless microphone. Thoughtful for Sony to do this. By the way when I tried out the mic the sound wasn't too bad but it's really just for a fun karaoke time so no big deal. It was fun to press the Key Control and Echo links as it made your voice sound really different! This speaker will literally shake your walls and I had it at just 35% volume! I turned my room lights off and WOW what a light show this speaker provides! Absolutely amazing with beautiful moving colors. You can turn the lights off if desired as there is a touch link to do so on top as well. The sound is so rich and full and you can always add more or less bass with the controls and on the app. I had been looking at party speakers for some time but never opted to buy one. I am SO happy I waited because this speaker is PERFECT in every way! I love how it looks, works and can very highly recommend the purchase. You won't be sorry and as far as I'm concerned there's nothing on the market today that even comes close to comparing to this Sony ULT Tower 10! It's not an inexpensive speaker but worth every cent. TOTALLY ROCKS!!

[Rewarded Review] The Absolute Best Party Speaker

The new Sony ULT 10 Tower Party Speaker is an absolute beast of a party speaker. I'm not suprised, Sony makes some of the best audio accessories. The sound quality is big and booming with volume getting loud enough to be heard in most sizable areas and rooms. I used it in my backyard (85' x 65') for a party with friends and everyone could hear the music perfectly. The ULT 10 has two preset sound EQ options, ULT 1 and ULT 2, which are quick and easy ways to adjust the audio quality for those that want deeper bass or clearer voice, but you can also adjust your EQ to tailor you music experience. The Fiestable App is so cool, you can customize the lighting, create party playlists that your guests can join and add their favorite songs for everyone to hear, you can DJ your music by adding sound effects and playing with sound altering effects like warp and slow mo and others, and you can even do kareoke that shows a rating by how good close you were to your song choice. The ULT 10 comes with a wireless microphone so you can make announcements, speeches, or sing your heart out. If you are looking for a way to get your friends and family dancing, grooving, singing, and just having a great time at your party or event then this is a must have. I absolutely reccomend The Sony ULT 10.
