People aren’t trying to rush me off the phone because of the piercing sounds coming through the phone. Now it’s just pleasant conversation - and I also have no problems hearing them in these environments as well. All around - me, my friends, and most importantly - my wife are so much happier now that I have these earbuds. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone who works in loud environments and needs great noise cancellation. They ARE worth it!

BACKGROUND:I'm 37, like hi-res audio mainly, I do have a lot of earbuds and headphones (shure, sony, senhnheiser, beat, skullcandy, audio-Technica, AKG, Bose) and I do not consider myself and audiophile but, I like to have earbuds for any type of music or situation lol, I bought this because my mom accidentally destroyed an AKG earbuds that I use at work, told her that it was ok, but she insisted to much to buy me a substitute, so I do not really wanted that my elder mom buy me a pricer earbuds, but also did not wanted to just have a scrappy pair, so the best option it came in my mind was this ones and that's how I got it and do not regret it, this are a great earbuds for EVERYDAY, they look cheap so it do not attract a lot of attention like the "shure's" ... Of course this are superior to beats, skullcandy, bose without a doubt but at the same price!!, so if your budget is limited, get this one's right awayDOWNSIDE:Bluetooth connection sometimes fade in and fade out... not sure why it does that but for me is not like a big deal.Pairing this ones is just a bit harder than their sony top brother, since they do not have the shortcut of "touching both earbuds" to start pairing, you have to open box and push the small button for 10 secs and then you will be able to pair it, selecting it from the list, I mean... it takes like 3 minutes, once paired then it will remember, so for me not a big deal but is something you may consider if you pair this to more than 2 devices that are near each other, because they will connect to the last one you connected and you'll have to do all the process I meantioned to pair it to the other device (even that you already configured before). This earbuds isolate sound so well that you can hear your "chewing" or "footsteps" when you are running, I mean you can hear your "inner sounds".Mic is SO BAD for calls, they just simple lack behind on this one, I did not pretend to use it for "calling" but when I receive calls I change to speakear since people can't hear me at all, or with a lot of "ambient sound".OVERALL:great FLAT sound, nice price, excellent fit (even sweat)

I just bought these, so take what I have to say, as you will. These little guys are Shocking. I have a pair of Sony XM4, over ear headphones, that I absolutely love. When they released the XM4 earbuds I was super excited until I saw how big they were. I have worn earbuds over the years, and I can just tell when earbuds are not going to work for me. I passed on the XM4 buds, exclusively because of the size, and stuck with a pair I had had for years from another manufacturer. I happened to come across these during a sale and had never heard of this model. I did a little bit of research and felt like these might be my replacement to my older device.I went through and charged them up fully and updated the firmware, before a sound other than a chime was played through ... With them having ANC but being so tiny I was not expecting much. These are not my XM4 over the ears but are insanely good at blocking out noise for their size. I got that same Seal sound when I first powered them up just like my large headphones. I knew we were headed in a good direction.Other than the sound stage being more narrow, because these are jammed in your head, unlike over the ear headphones, these sound dead on like my XM4's. I cannot tell the difference. These little guys are a diamond in the rough if you love Sony's tunning, and have smaller ears.I also ran in these the first evening I had them and had no problem with the fit, or seal, although I did use the larger tips to get a better seal at home prior to leaving the house. There is software in the Sony app that can assist you if you just cannot decide whether they are fitting correctly or not. If you like Sony audio products, need some ultra compact earbuds for.....anything, these are your next buds.I was lucky enough to catch these on sale but to be honest, I would not have been upset paying regular price for them now that I have used them. If you love Sony's dynamic, punchy sound in over the ear head phones, they unbelievably recreated that here.

I bit the bullet and bought the Sonly Linkbuds S after using wired earbuds with my phone for the last 5-6 years. All the talk about ANC hissing and Bluetooth codecs that drop connection had scared me away for a long time. I had bought a few cheaper earbuds and was not impressed at all. I was also a proud audio enthusiast (not quite an audiophile) and was not ready to accept wireless earbuds since I could get much better sounding headphones for the same price. Now that I have wireless earbuds, I wear them on/off throughout the day and place them back in their case and into my pocket for a quick recharge. A single charge on Sony's case lasts me all-day and should be fine for most people as well. This brings me to the one big downside; this case cannot be charged ... Now that I have wireless earbuds, I wear them on/off throughout the day and place them back in their case and into my pocket for a quick recharge. A single charge on Sony's case lasts me all-day and should be fine for most people as well. This brings me to the one big downside; this case cannot be charged wirelessly, which means you will have to connect it to a USB cable, and the cable you are supplied with is only a few inches long. Another downside (or upside depending on how you see it) is that you need to download Sony's app to get the most out of these earbuds. I know not everyone will want to use features like an equalizer, speak-to-chat, and custom touch controls; if you do that's all here along with other features. Sony's noise cancelling feature they call "ambient sound control" is extremely effective at keeping sounds from your surrounding environment out of your ears and is a feature I use often. You can also setup tap controls to turn these features on and off. When someone talks to me, I can just tap my left earbud to turn ambient sound control off in order to hear them speak. There is also a talk-to-chat feature as I previously mentioned which pauses the track you're listening to and turns ambient sound control off when you speak. I like this feature a lot, but I found out while using it that I talk a lot to myself when I'm alone and it was not useful to me because of that. I can also pause/play a track with a tap on my right ear along with skip to the next track with a double-tap. You can setup your commands however you like though sound controls have to be on one earbud and feature controls on the other. The sound of these earbuds are great overall considering the customization you have with the equalizer and its presets. I have presets set for podcasts, for EDM, Classic/Alternative Rock, and for movies. Whatever your flavor is you can dial it in to suit your listening experience. It's not hi-fi and it definitely is compressed audio, but it still sounds great overall when you consider the usefulness of these earbuds. I give them 4 1/2 stars or a 9 our of 10.
First of all, I have never owned any wireless earbuds before as I more opt for the over-ear or on-ear variants of headphones. The reason, my ear canals are ultra sensitive and don't get on well with having heavy IEM's/in-ear eartips shoved in them, so I tried these with a good pinch of salt. After using these on and off, I am happy to say that I have had zero issues with my ears, the Linkbuds S are beautifully crafted to be light, secure and sit perfectly in the ear to the point you forget you are wearing them.Of course the most important part of any earbud is the point of contact in the ear, the ear tip must create a perfect seal to achieve isolation and good sound quality but inherently comfort is key... size and material are so important. The supplied silicon tips are incredibly soft and create an excellent seal in the ear which is paramount to having effective passive noise cancelling on any earbud but with Sony's Active Noise Cancelling in the mix, the isolation is sooo impressive and spookily good.I recently returned from my holidays in Turkey in which I had the joy of using the Linkbuds S during and I have to admit, the more I used the Linkbuds S, the more I have fallen in love with them, I was looking forward to trying them on the flight and by the pool as a true test for the ANC and I am pleased to say that they performed admirably. With the eartips offering good isolation, the engine noise from the plane was gone and pool music, which was loud at some points (at about 10 metres away), was basically inaudible. The fact that this tiny set of wireless buds are able to do this is basically mind blowing. If I was to add something at this point as an improvement it would be increased water resistance for both the buds and charging case, being around a pool is highly hazardous for these buds at only IPX4 rated (care and attention is required).Disclaimer, these are not audiophile buds but the sound reproduction is fantastic as long as your music source is good, LDAC helps here a lot but at the expense of range if optimised for sound quality. So if you move away from your BT player source expect connection drop outs with the Linkbuds S especially if the airwaves are congested with other device signals. In my opinion, the difference between a premium set of earphones and a budget set of earphones are the features, something that all of Sonys bluetooth earphones/headphones have a plethora of, some of which folks will find a gimmick and others indispensable. Saying this the Linkbuds S are well worth the price point, Sony are second to none in the bluetooth earphone/headphones space in my opinion, Sony's software and hardware is hard to beat and they have a lot of boxes ticked with their consumer products. The Linkbuds S bring simplicity and a getting on perfect feature set to the wireless bud space, I love them and highly recommend.
Up until purchasing this pair of LinkBuds S earbuds, I have been on a desperate hunt for some sleek, truly wireless earbuds that actually cooperate with my ears since having been disappointed by the first and second generation AirPods Pros. The AirPods Pros, for context, have consistently irritated my ears during use, hypothetically due to something in the material composition that triggers severe reactions within my ear canals. This issue has been heavily documented across multiple popular online forums, including Apple's own discussion forums, and unfortunately Apple has done nothing to address this issue, even after having released a second iteration, so it was time to move on. My motivation in trying these out was getting the same Sony quality with the XM4s, but in a smaller sleeker package that HOPEFULLY doesn't aggravate my ears, and honestly I'm glad I've given these a chance. So far, these earbuds have been really good in the sound quality and noise cancelling department, and more importantly, have been immensely comfortable to wear in my ears for long music listening sessions. The battery life has also been really good.My only minor complaint is that the LinkBuds from time to time may have moments where the audio stutters, presumably due to Bluetooth signal strength, but 99% of the time it maintains a stable connection so I wouldn't let this discourage you from buying the LinkBuds.Ultimately, these earbuds are worth it. Giving these a 5 star rating; these aren't even the flagship WF-1000XM4 earbuds, yet they smoke the AirPods Pros. Insanely good value, especially with the sale going on at the time of writing for $50 off, highly recommend picking these up if you're on the decisionmaking fence.
Once you get all the settings right, ASTOUNDING SOUND.Software continues to be buggy at times on Android (Samsung S21). Unless Automatic Turn Off option is disabled, one headphone (mostly L, sometimes R) will turn off after 20-30 minutes on phone calls, which is quite annoying, have to take headphone out and put back in, and headphone will turn back on. This is after reset and initialization were done. Shame because the automatic off is a nice feature, assuming software issue with IR interface. Hopefully software updates soon will correct this.Wildly enough, there also is an extreme increase in sound quality when the auto off feature is disabled, at least for my Linkbuds! Couldn't believe my ears when I first disabled auto off, but toggled multiple times between enabling and disabling, and the sound opened up so much it was like the difference between $50 and $150 dollar earbuds. Again, seems to be software issues hopefully ironed out in future.Left earbud touch function may have also been affected by this, but works now after initialization and also turning off the above feature, unsure which thing caused the function to be fixed.Takes a few minutes to make sure LDAC is set on Android Smartphones (Apple cannot support LDAC high quality bluetooth transmission). Must go to bluetooth, then when device appears on bluetooth, must click settings on right of device, enable LDAC. Then under phone settings, must enable "Developer Options", then go down to bluetooth and select LDAC. Also, every time (this is a pain but not Sony's issue) you connect the headphones and want to truly listen at LDAC levels, must scroll down to "Bluetooth Audio LDAC Codec: Playback Quality" and Select "Highest Quality" (Android defaults to best effort every time you connect to headphones, which is often lower than LDAC).All that said, once everything is right, the overall sound, bass, and fidelity of these earbuds is so amazing! Bearing in mind you MUST USE LDAC; Sony has worked to maximize sound quality by implementing LDAC, so if you're not using it, these earbuds may not sound amazing, since you're not using their full functionality. And they are so light, even with the case! Amazing! Noise canceling is great, battery is okay, drains pretty fast with both noise cancelling and LDAC enabled, but hey, can't beat the sound.I love Sony and the amazing sound all of their products produce; they sometimes have had issues with earbuds recently, likely due to trying to get to market too quickly, but I will definitely be a lifelong Sony user. The sound from the product is superior.
The Sony Linkbuds S wireless noise cancelling ear buds are a great size, fit really well (with a choice of ear insert sizes) and are always secure either out and about or in the gym.Battery life is ideal for listening to my favourite sings when pottering in the garden or even at work when doing some online training. The noise-cancelling works well keeping wind noise down when making and receiving phone calls. They are water resistant but that isn’t a concern for me as when it rains I have my hood up to keep the rain out, or use an umbrella. They come with a nice charging case and in a choice of colours which is I think is better than ordinary black or white – I’ve chosen the eco-friendly pair in an 'Earth Blue' finish that is made from recycled water dispenser ... It was very straight forward connecting them to my android mobile and it’s great being able to control them by tapping the outside, which I’m just getting used to. I have installed the Sony Headphones Connect app on my mobile which I think everyone should do as it lets you see the charge for each earbud and the charging case plus it’s the only way to get updates for the device.I just hope people don’t mind me dancing and singing down the shopping aisles whilst listening to my favourite songs but they might complain at my singing!! A great choice for earbuds.
The Sony Linkbuds S are my first pair of wireless earbuds from Sony. I've owned the Airpods Pro, Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, and JLab Epic Air ANC. I bought these becuse I was concerned about the claims that some Samsung earbuds tend to cuse more ear infections than other earbuds. I also wasn't particularly inpressed with how the Samsung Buds 2 sounded. Fit was also not great.I perfer the sound quality of the Sony Linkbuds S over the Samsung Buds 2. Noise cancelling also seems to be better on the Linkbud S compared to the Samsung Buds2. Overall, fit is somewhat better on the Linkbuds S. Sony's earbud tips for the Linkbuds S seem to have higher build quality than the Samsung Buds2.The 5 mm dynamic driver in these headphones makes things sound super clear and refined. ... Sony's earbud tips for the Linkbuds S seem to have higher build quality than the Samsung Buds2.The 5 mm dynamic driver in these headphones makes things sound super clear and refined. Compared to the dual drivers in the Samsung Buds2, the single 5mm dynamic driver in the Sony Linkbuds S still doesn't dissapoint. In my opinion, It sounds different than the dual driver Samsung buds, but in a good way. If you are looking for over emphasized bass, just change the EQ settings. Out of the box, the freqency response sounds flat but soundstage is expansive and sound quality in general is impressive. This makes me bieve that these dont have an "adapt eq" feature like the Bose or Airpods Pro. Its nice to think that, with the sony Linkbuds S, I have more control over how my music sounds. How Sony acomplished this while also offering great active noise cancelling and wireless performance is a mystery to me, and I'm impressed by this everytime I use the Linkbuds S.
I am not happy with these earbuds. They say you can control volume, start/stop, and noise-cancelling mode from the buds - and that is true, but only two of those functions at a time. There is no option to have all three functions active at once, because of the weird way Sony "groups" the ear-bud controls together - I don't need commands they force you to add in with the noise cancelling control, like start spotify or some other app I never use, but there is no way to e.g. replace the function of those commands with volume up and down. So half the commands are taken up by functions I don't need, but I can't replace them with the functions I DO need. You can only swap in and out 'groups' of functions - and volume up/down, noise cancelling on/off, and start/stop ... MoreI am not happy with these earbuds. You can only swap in and out 'groups' of functions - and volume up/down, noise cancelling on/off, and start/stop controls are in 3 different 'groups' - so you have to choose between two of those functions (plus all the extra ones in each group, even if you don't want those extra functions). If Sony fixed this I would like the buds a lot. As it is I can't operate them without physically getting my phone out, which is useless. A wasted purchase. It's also really annoying that if you select start/stop to be available on one earbud, you can't disable the track forward/backward function that sits in the same group. I don't know how many times I ended up forwarding multiple tracks when I put the buds into or out of my ear - which when you listen to podcasts is incredibly annoying because of how hard it then is to find your place again...
