The search for earbuds continue, but I could have easily settled on these had the Powerbeats Pro not been released and ticked off every box I was looking for. However, for the price, these Sony earbuds have a lot going for them that set them apart from the others on the market.Pros:- Fit: These by far were the most comfortable when compared to the Jabra Elite 65t, Bose Soundsport Free, and I dare say the Powerbeats Pro. I use the standard tips on all models and the Sonys nailed the fit. They don't protrude like the Frankenstein monster neck bolts of the Bose, are lighter than the Jabra model, and don't have to clip over your ears to hold on like the Beats.- Connection: The connection to an iPhone 6S Plus was by far the best of the bunch as well. Unlike with the other options, I never felt tethered to my phone and could freely roam to other rooms in the house or office without losing connection.- Active Noise Cancellation: ANC is a standout feature of these that none of the others can match. While I did not get to try these out on an airplane, I was able to put them through the lawn mowing test. Between the ear fit and the ANC, I did not have to crank the volume to maintain a comfortable listening experience. Office noise was rendered non-existent and I found that they didn't put that sense of "pressure" on your ears like some other ANC devices.CONS:- The Case: The bulbous case seems like and afterthought when compared to the earbuds. I found it difficult to wedge the earbuds back into the case and was underwhelmed with the cases closure mechanism. It felt very cheap and I doubt it would hold up in a computer bag.- Phone calls: One area that was important to me was the call quality as I often use a headset for online meetings and conference calls. The box literature flat out stated that only the left earbud operates in phone calls and while I initially didn't think that would be an issue, as I use a Jabra ear bud in the field, but it was. I craved the stereo and this was a primary reason for returning these to get the Powerbeats Pro.- Sound Quality: Most of the time I was satisfied with the sound until I wanted to crank it up. At that point, overdrive was highly evident and the static ruined the experience.- Physical buttons: The buttons on these things are a bit more difficult to operate than competing models. Still better than the Bose, but not even comparable to the Powerbeats Pro.

I did enjoy the ability to toggle through NC, Ambient, and Off settings for the level of outside noise I chose to hear at the touch of the button.Speaking of the buttons, there are only two (one on each earbud) that perform several functions, however it would have been nice to have a volume adjuster available. The charging case feels very flimsy and there is only a tiny indicator dot to see whether or not the case is fully charged or not. Flipping the lid open doesn't disturb the charging pods inside though, which I can appreciate if only because the lid does slide open very easily.Another small issue is the calling mic function. I could only hear incoming calls into the left earpod, and I wasn't sure if this was on purpose. As it stands, receiving calls in heavily crowded areas did not block out the sound as well as I would have liked. It may have been just a setting issue, but even still there is little to prevent this (admittedly, I have not downloaded the suggested Sony app and am usually turned off when required to do so).Overall, the Sony True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds are a very good option for active users with its clear sound and comfortable feel. Some small issues with its case, button arrangement, and calling usage knock a star out for me.Full disclosure, I received this product for my honest, unbiased review.

I got these headphones looking for a pair that I could use to kill two birds with one stone. I have tried about 9 pair of wireless headphones since they first began readily available at retail stores. They have each had their ups and downs. These headphones being Sony sound as one would expect..a little better than good but just sorry of great when listening to music. When you get a phone call it can get lost, lag, or drop the call. I have used a Samsung s9+ and a Samsung s10+ with these ear buds. Connectivity seems a little better, I don't know why; after you download the official Sony headphone app. The app isn't a necessary download, but it does allow one to use some preset functionality that isn't available without this app. The most difficult thing I found ... MoreI got these headphones looking for a pair that I could use to kill two birds with one stone. When you do this part you have to swivel the ear wings that help hold the buds in your ears into a certain position, other wise the will not fit into the designed slot or make a connection to recharge. This is probably the biggest headache I've dealt with concerning these headphones. You can use them mono (one at a time) to take calls longer, the case offers two full charges if the case is fully charged. For the price I got them on sale about $90, they are worth it to me. With the pandemic Covid19 stuff Best But has gone above and beyond in customer service, they unlike some of their counterparts permitted returns or exchanges, although they were only exclusively doing so through mail. Final note: with three price point, there is a little to learn with these ear buds but they are worth it. Unless you are a super audiophile, then obviously you're going to have to spend more money to get what your looking for.

I bought this pair only a couple days ago, so this is more of a first impression with them.I bought these as a 'go everywhere' pair of earbuds, to use them when exercising, in school or other places that isn't the house, since I have a better pair for that purpose. However, they are stupidly easy and just simple. You can pair them (provided you have the Sony app) by tapping the marked spot on the case. They are extremely simple and easy to use.The noise cancelling is somewhat underwhelming. I definitely wasn't expecting the quality of ANC in some overhead cans, but I wasn't expecting this. It's not like "wow, I can't hear anything!" And more like "the sound of my footsteps is slightly softer..." Kinda disappointed. The build quality is also something of an issue for me. While they aren't literally falling apart at the seams after a week, they feel like they could break at any moment. The case especially, I would have preferred a standard hinge like Airports or WF1000's, this spinny thing feel like I can break it by looking at it wrong.Despite theses (rather noticeable) flaws, only two things matter: battery life and sound quality. And it kinda fails at one, and smashes it for the other. The battery life is the largest issue here. 3 hours doesn't seem like a huge time and it isn't specified if this is with or without ANC on or off, but from other reviews I've seen and my own very limited experience it's a major issue. If I could I would make the case, say, 5 millimetres bigger in order to increase the number of bud charges per case charge from 2 to 3.The sound quality is, as is expected from something of this price point, very nice. It's crisp, light and equally bassy and thick if it needs too. I mainly listen to queen and Joji and both sound excellent, apart from the odd grating from the speakers maxing. Overall, very impressed. Songs like "Sanctuary" by Joji is a great example of this, with some heavy base and Joji's high voice bring out the best in these suckers.Final verdict, if your looking for a pair to escape from the wall outlet, don't buy these. They don't have the the battery life for it. If your looking for a "ultra-mega high quality" pair, then looks elsewhere (Might I recommend some MX1000M3's?). If you are, however, looking for a pair as a exercise buddy or as a nice pair, to chuck in to your work bag, then go for it.
These earphones have a huge amount of potential, but are let down by poor bluetooth performance. This may be an issue with my particular set, but as they operate now, they're largely unusable, especially when trying to watch videos. To start, the sound quality is frankly great. Sony has EQed these to have a good amount of bass (much more than any other wireless earbuds I've tried), and to my ears, these sound really good. Also, the fit of these is really good as well. They have a number of different sized fitments that you can use to ensure they fit in your ears correctly, and for me, these fit great and stayed in my ears no matter what I was doing. The above strong points are completely undone by some critical flaws. To start, no matter the setting I used in the Sony app, there was a noticeable (AT LEAST half a second) delay in the sound, which means that watching videos with these is out of the question. In conjunction with the delay issue, the buds both had fairly regular audible pops, which leads me to believe that something is severely off with either the software or hardware. This, again, happened regardless of settings in the app.Sound cancellation ability of these buds is incredibly underwhelming as well in my experience. I didn't expect these to perform on par with a pair of over the ear phones, but enabling the noise cancellation feature resulted in very little difference in ambient sound (it should be noted that these passively block ambient noise pretty well). I also fairly frequently I had an issue where one of the earbuds wouldn't turn on when the other was turned on. This required an additional moment to turn the other bud on, and sometimes, took longer for them to sync and both broadcast audio. Finally, while I can appreciate a minimalist design, I feel that Sony should've included a couple more buttons to allow you to more thoroughly control the sound (or incorporate some of the touch gestures found in their excellent wh1000x headphones).I had huge expectations for these earbuds, as Sony's recent track record of delivering sound products with high quality and supreme sound quality speaks for itself. These, however, severely disappoint. My hope is that my issues noted above are the result of early release software and not some inherent hardware issue that can't be fixed with a subsequent firmware update.

Unfortunately, while the sound is very detailed and noise cancellation is fabulous, the WF-SP700N listening experience is completely ruined by the overabundance of bass. Background: While I wouldn't consider myself to be a headphone snob, I'm a big fan of a good pair of cans. I use four different bluetooth headsets on a regular basis, as none of the ones I've tried "do it all" - provide noise cancellation for travel, have good battery life, let ambient sounds in when I want them, are easy to put in and take out, and offer good voice quality for phone calls. I listen to a broad variety of music, and I delight in hearing multiple layers of instrumentation and details of performances. I tested the WF-SP700Ns with an Apple iPhone 7 running iOS 11, with Amazon Music as my audio source, set to high quality mode. The Good: The WF-SP700N is actually very good at several things - the noise cancellation features are top-notch, and give you control over the amount of ambient sound you want to include, including just voices or all ambient sounds. The actual musical reproduction is very detailed across all frequencies. Offers a choice of "sound quality" or "connection priority" modes, allowing you to choose extra range at the expense of audio quality, or vice-versa.The Bad: Unfortunately, there's one glaring problem with the WF-SP700N: sooo much bass. Sooooooooo much bass. While the bass is detailed (it's not a generic one-note bass like you get in cheaper headphones) there's soooo much bass it totally overwhelms everything else. This brings me to my next complaint - the Sony music app has a section for EQ settings for the WF-SP700N, but it's only a 5-band EQ, and only offers preset EQ settings, none of which actually made the headphones sound better. (I suppose it's an improvement over the last Sony product I tried, where the EQ settings in the Sony music app just did nothing.) When used in "connection priority" mode, the sound quality is very noticeably compromised, with a faint crackling sound added to the audio. The battery life seems to be kind of mediocre, about three hours in my testing (though that matches Sony's advertised battery life), and the charging case seems kind of flimsy for a pair of headphones in this price range. There are also strange little quirks, like a delay when you change the volume level on your phone, and noticeable amplifier "pops" when you start or stop music (presumably, Sony turns the amplifiers off to save battery when there's no music playing).
The most important feature of wireless earbuds is that the earbuds fit into the ear and are comfortable, with little to no pressure on the ear which causes discomfort. These Sony earbuds do stay in the ear fairly well and are comfortable. In my opinion, the second most important feature of wireless earbuds, is sound quality, this is because if earbuds are not comfortable, then the whole time they are worn, the discomfort is constantly being noticed. Luckily these Sony earbuds are both comfortable and sound pretty good. This Sony WF-SP700N model of wireless earbuds has water resistance, which the previous model of wireless earbuds does not. The previous Sony wireless earbuds which has a model number of WF1000X are a bit easier to place in the ear and are also slightly more comfortable than the Sport version.Since I do not exercise when wearing my earbuds, I prefer the previous version of wireless earbuds, but if I was physically active I would prefer these Sony Sport wireless earbuds. The case for these Sony sport wireless earbuds is quite nice and the earbuds fit into the charging position easily. The charge time is fairly quick, and what is best about charging these earbuds, is that the cover does not need to be closed when charging, this allows viewing the red light on each earbud, which lights up when charging, and the red lights turn off when the charging is complete. When I use all my various brands of earbuds, I always remove them from my ear and place them down on the countertop, I place them so that the earbuds are facing up to prevent the ear oils from wiping onto the counter, and then before I place them into the charging case, I wipe the oil off of each earbud with a square section of toilet paper, to prevent bacteria that does build up on the earbuds. This bacteria will cause frequent ear infections if the earbuds are worn several hours a day, this bacteria mainly grows when the earbuds are in the ear and the moisture on the earbuds is increased. Once I started to wipe the earbuds after each use, the ear infections completely stopped.I prefer the black color of earbuds, because the oils that build up on the earbuds can be easier seen, this is because the ear oils glisten on the black color silicone tips, and it can be easier seen when the earbuds are wiped clean. The white color silicone tips on earbuds does not show the oil buildup as easy, and this makes wiping them clean not quite as easy.My least favorite thing about these Sony earbuds, is the placement of the buttons, it is kind of awkward to press the buttons, but that is not much to complain about, it just takes awhile to learn how to grab each earbud specifically so that the buttons can be pressed.I am rating these Sony Sport wireless earbuds at 4 out of 5 stars, this rating would be higher if the buttons were improved and the battery life was a bit better, with that being said, the battery life on all of the wireless earbuds that I own is around 2 to 3 hours.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using these Sony WF-SP700N headphones for several days and the more I use them the more I like them. I was impressed when listening to one track that contained snare drum and cymbal and the sound was shimmering excellent. I was not impressed with voice reproduction, so I went into the App and loaded a different equaliser setting which improved the sound. There are several presets to choose from but not a user defined option. The sound stage is very good giving a good separation of the musical instruments. They are marketed as Sports Headphones and that is what I use them for, but like most people who work-out or run I use a Smartwatch/Tracker, if possible I would like to see support for this type of appliance, or support for multi-point pairing to switch between audio sources . I have paired my Smartwatch and they work great together, I have music loaded on it and I can control volume, playback, and track selection from the watch, as I find the earphone buttons a bit fiddly when I am running. The noise reduction works up to a point but the ear-tips are of more use to isolate external noise. I tested it on a road run, but prefer to turn it off as I like to be aware of my surroundings. On my treadmill it did reduce the noise but I became more aware of my feet pounding the mat.Battery lasted 2h: 20-25min(2h 50m with N/C off) enough for me but not impressive and it takes 1h.30m to recharge, a quick charge option would be an advantage. I did not experience any dropouts so connectivity is good. The latency makes watching video a waste of time and best avoided. I tried Google Assistant it worked but not a facility I use.The headphones aren`t perfect but sound reproduction is excellent, as well as the comfort factor, these are the main requirements of a pair of headphones, and that is why I like and use them.
Sony’s WFSP700N is a pair of sports-oriented truly wireless in-ear headphones that delivers a secure fit, decent audio quality and noise cancellation for a competitive price. The WFSP700N is quite a simple pair of wireless earbuds, and they should be praised for their design. Unlike their more expensive sibling, the WF-1000X, they maintain a secure fit that can withstand aggressive headbanging and other violent motions. Additionally, the charging case has a design that does a much better job at ensuring the lid does not open up and the earbuds do not accidentally activate.Sony has designed a great charging case for this pair of wireless earbuds. The charging case has never opened up by accident in my daily sling bag, making it very reliable for maintaining a charge and preventing accidental battery drain—something that cannot be said about the WF-1000X, from my experience. As for battery life, I have confidence that this pair will deliver near the 9 hours it promises, as long as you understand that the earbuds can run for 3 hours on a charge, while the case can charge the earbuds from 0 to 100% two additional times. The sound of the WFSP700N is not without compromise. They lack the treble and midrange clarity of the WF-1000X, but deliver a bassy sound signature. Personally, I do appreciate the extra bass, but I definitely find myself missing the vocal clarity that the WF-1000X delivers. Overall, it’s acceptable, given that it is targeting sports users, but audiophiles like myself will certainly be disappointed in comparison to the WF-1000X.As far as signal quality is concerned, these seem quite stable, as cupping my hand over either earbud does not cause the right earbud to lose signal easily, unlike the WF-1000X. That being said, I haven’t given them the Shibuya Crossing test to determine if they’d maintain a signal in a very dense pedestrian environment. As for the noise cancellation, these won’t handle the chaos of windy environments, but they’ll reduce some noise from speech, traffic, and low hums. And while the ambient sound modes won’t let you engage in a conversation, it will let in just enough sound to allow you to notice noises that occur at moderate volumes.Sony’s EXTRA BASS sound signature and improved Google Assistant integration is coming soon, but I’m personally satisfied with the level of bass as well as the simple integration with Google Assistant. As it currently stands, if you’re in the market for a pair of truly wireless earbuds with a secure fit, adequate sound, and a reliable connection, the WFSP700N may be the choice for you. But if you’re looking for a zero-compromise solution to wireless earbuds, you’ll have to hold onto your wallet.
I decided to take a chance on these during a recent sale, and I'm very impressed. The earbuds connected to my LG G8 Android phone and Google Assistant quickly and easily and I barely had to do any real work (aside from downloading an optional but essential app, more on that below). Having the earbuds automatically turn on and connect when taking them out of the charger/carrying case and turn off when I put them back in is INGENIOUS, and while I was originally concerned about not having volume control on the earbud like I have grown accustomed to on older Sony Bluetooth headsets, the ease of using Google Assistant to control the volume by voice command pretty much addresses that issue. I also don't miss the common problem on other Sony Bluetooth headsets of having to press the volume up key to skip to the next track only to have the press not register correctly and instead crank up the volume and risk damaging my hearing. Similar to one of the other reviewers of this product, I initially found the volume on the headset very low even at max volume, but this was quickly resolved once I followed the prompt to install the "Sony Headphones Connect" app from the Google Play Store, which grants access to the headphone's full set of features, including the ability to increase the default volume level, change quick EQ modes, and more. My final concern about this product was how good they would be at staying in my ears while I performed any light to strenuous activity. Pretty much every "Sports" Bluetooth headset from Sony and other brands has never firmly stayed in my ears for long and even if they did manage to stay in longer than expected they always felt like they were on the verge of falling out. With such bad experiences I was really worried that not only would one or both of these earbuds fall out, but since they weren't attached by a wire I'd be more likely to lose them. But this definitely is not the case here. Without a wire or remote on the cord to weigh the buds down or tangle with clothing, backpack straps and/or other things, these earbuds stay in my ears comfortably and firmly, and so far have not fallen out no matter what I am doing. Of course there's always the risk of losing them when putting them on or taking them off, so naturally one should use common sense when doing so...like not taking them out of the case or putting them on when in motion or while being in a place where small dropped objects can easily be lost and irretrievable (e.g. when getting on or off the subway). The earbuds come with a regular and large set of "ear-hooks" which are indispensable to keeping the earbuds firmly lodged in the ears, and they honestly do the job surprising well. I haven't owned or used the WFSP700N/B headphones long enough yet to comment in detail about the battery life, but I have only charged them once since getting them a couple of days ago and so far I feel that I gotten far more out of them than 2.5 hours of play time, so I'd have to disagree with most of complaints I've seen here about battery life from the other reviews. The Noise Cancelling feature is quite effective, and thanks to the earbuds staying solidly in my ears, I finally can enjoy constant, high quality Sony sound and bass without the experience constantly being compromised by one of the earbuds slipping out. The WFSP700N/B are truly worlds better what I have experienced with ANY Active/Sports-dedicated Bluetooth headphones I have owned in the past 10 years (from Sony or otherwise). I don't think I can ever go back to Bluetooth headsets that use any sort of wire ever again!
