For a Sony product, I am extremely disappointed in how cheaply made this headset is. Though they do seem to work just fine in spite of the manufacturing. My complaint is that the charging wire was missing from the box. Before these items are sent out to customers they should be inspected to be sure all items are in the box they are paying for. So clearly these weren't. I have a charging wire that might work so I'll see in the next few days if it will do the job before I send them back. Outside of being wireless I could have just bought a cheap wired set for less than half of what I paid for these and they would have been made better. And one more thing, I have to reconnect them to my computer every time I turn them off, or if not in use. I got these for watching movies on our smart TV. I was having a hard time hearing the dialogue and was constantly turning the volume up and down throughout the movie. Problem is now solved! I'm quite happy with the sound quality. Dialogue is clear and background sound and music is distinct but not overpowering and no heavy bass - just what I was hoping for. I can now watch a whole movie and hear every word w/o having to adjust the volume even once. The headphones are comfortable, easy to pair w TV, they turn off and on easily with one touch. Thank you Sony for a great product!

Sony is a well-respected name in electronics which is the first reason I looked at this headphone set. When I opened the box, the directions are all in drawings. Text would be good to accompany the drawings. Because the drawings cannot do a good job explaining something, text is really needed. I found the headphones charged up fully overnight. The Bluetooth link was easy to establish, probably because I’ve linked them to an iPad which is very intuitive doing this. The sound is rich and full for such a small pair of headphones. There is not going to be any concert hall quality but I like what it is putting out for sound.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a pair of work or leisure wireless headphones, these are a great option. They dampen just enough outside sound with the on the ear design (although I recognize folks with bigger ears than mine might find the smaller circles uncomfortable) and produce a fairly crisp sound for being a wireless device. I will say, taking calls though is a challenge as they pick up any and ALL background resulting in my ADHD brain struggling to focus on the person talking.I did find that even with my small ears, a break is necessary about 2 hours in to avoid a headache even though the padding is better than some much more expensive options I've bought, and the band expanded without issue for my larger than average head. Still, I'd caution anyone with pressure migraines to use these with an awareness that they are *on ear* instead of *over ear* as I know some are more affected by pressure directly on the ears.I've used these while working on a computer, cleaning, sewing, and working on choreography which was a real treat because every other wireless headset or ear buds I've tried have gone flying off while doing barrel turns or prop work. Definitely an improvement in terms of my neighbor relations who aren't always up for my many music choices that vary from modern Egyptian pop to classic rock and more. This way, I can work on what I want to without annoying anyone and better concentrate on layered rhythms, but I will say the mid range falls out compared to the treble and bass (pretty common for sets in this range, and especially anything wireless) which does make some genres less enjoyable than others. If I had a sensory student or a kid struggling to get work done at home, these are the investment I'd suggest parents make. If I was working with a young musician or aspiring audio engineer, not so much. Again, there's very obvious loss in the mid range which effectively obscures the depth of tone regardless of source. It's not something the average listener will likely notice much, let alone be annoyed with when listening to most popular music. The biggest cons for me with this set is the loss in the mid and that the plastic design and flipping ear cups make me worry these will break easier as others with this design have met their sad fate. Finally, there's no passive use option from the lack of a 3.5mm jack and the USB-C plug only works to charge. If the few cons don't outweigh their affordability, these seem like a solid investment. Long battery life and a strong connection even on the other side of my considerable apartment makes me feel these are definitely worth the extra care that looks like it will be necessary for the plastic only design.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For those looking for an on-ear headset this is a good option depending on your needs. Charging the headset is pretty quick so if you only have a few minutes 10 minutes will give you 90 minutes of play. A full charge is great and I can use it multiple times before needing the charge it. It says it makes it 35 hours on a full charge and after using it for a while, I agree. In regards to what I don’t like about the charging, a charging cord that was a longer would be beneficial, the short cord makes it more difficult to charge because it barley allows the headphones to rest securely on the counter without standing them up against something. The headset itself adjusts easily to my head size and is comfortable sitting on my ears. The sound of the headphones is good. I feel that playback is clear and crisp. The Bluetooth range is good as well. I can get 20-30 feet away from my phone and I don’t lose the connection. It connects quickly to the phone without me having to mess around and figure out what’s happening. The buttons for power and volume and easy to decipher on the headset. Using them with the headset is on is taking some adjustment. It’s quicker and easier to adjust the what I need on the phone as opposed to using the headphone. The headphones have a mic for making calls but I DON’T LIKE THIS FEATURE AT ALL. When trying to use it for calls all I hear is myself in stereo. Me talking and my talking coming through the headphones. The person on the other end of the call said I sounded fine but I found it overly distracting. My final thoughts on these headphones are if you’re looking for an on-ear headset option for the purpose of listening to music, podcasts or videos then this is a good option. It lasts for hours, charges quickly and is comfortable to wear. The lack of longer charging cord isn’t a reason to not buy this product and hopefully a cord with some more length is something Sony will look into. If you’re looking for something to chat and make phone calls with, look for something else. I definitely recommend these headphones depending on your needs.
The wh150 are a solid pair of headphones. They are light and comfortable - wearing them for for several hours is no problem. The sound quality good for music and for podcasts and meetings.Whilst not noise cancelling the pads fit well - enough to cancel out the office levels of background noise without needing to ramp up the volume. The battery life is amazing. the claimed 35 hours appears to be accurate. These really could be heavily used all week on a single charge. The Bluetooth connection has been solid and remains connected. There is a small light which flashes when on and connected but luckily the battery life is so good it hardly matters if you remove them and forget to turn off. The buttons peform usual functions but in some ways are to similar feeling to remember which is which. On the negative side there is no bag of any kind, which would be nice to protect the headphones when not in use.The microphone seems very sensitive to mouse and keyboard - picking up others typing across the room. This can be distracting (or at least make you self conscious in a meeting).Given the price these are a great pair of Bluetooth headphone with excellent battery life and from a top brand.
Not what I expected. I do own older Sony MDR series headphones and they are great! So I was looking for a pair that were wireless and budget friendly as these will be only be used for work from home and block out noise while the kids are running around.Picked these up on whim because they weee on sale. Not very comfortable, a bit tight fitting and made my ears hurt after 8 hrs. Bass was mediocre at best compared to MDR series. Very poor at blocking out noise because these are only on ear headphone. Returned Sony for Anker Life 2 Neo. Same price range, wireless, over the ear, and better quality bass volume.
The headphones were simply packaged within the box and come with a charging lead, a quick guide and more detailed instructions. First thoughts on the headphones were they were compact and the headband was hard plastic with no cushioning (perhaps to be expected at this price point). The earpieces themselves were well cushioned and when initially putting them on they seemed comfortable to wear. The headphones could be adjusted by on either slide by sliding down the headband. The quick start guide is one of these guides that is pictures only to avoid the multiple language issue. The pictures were clear and well laid out. The first step was to charge the headphones using the charging lead. The pictures were clear and well laid out. The first step was to charge the headphones using the charging lead. The lead Sony provides was only 22cm long which is well below the normal length you get. This made it awkward to charge it.Once charged the next stage was to pair it to a device. On this occasion it was paired with a modern TV. The pairing worked first time without any problems. In terms of sound they were clear but don't have the depth of sound you find with more expensive headphones which is understandable. Using the controls on the headphones were slightly fiddly as they are very close to each other and therefore easy to press the wrong button. However having the raised profile on the plastic does help with this and the controls worked as they were intended. Pairing was also tried with an iPhone with no problems and music was a reasonable balance of bass and treble. In conclusion, the headphones are fine for basic listening to either the TV or music and are a reasonable quality for this price point.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best Sony model yet ! wow these sound very crisp and are very balanced in the highs, mids, and lows. It definitely punches above its weight in terms of sound quality. The bass (with bass boost enabled) sounds good but not over bearing. If you're a huge bass head these won't give you ultra deep earth shattering bass like a pair of Sony XB950b1's would, BUUUTTTT the bass is still quite strong on these PS4 Gold headphones, no complaints here. I used the newly released Doom Eternal as a test bed for these and wow I was blown away. Explosions have some real weight with good bass behind them, bullets sound crisp, demons/monsters sound truly intimidating and everything just sounds so clear without distortion. The 7.1 ... More[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best Sony model yet ! wow these sound very crisp and are very balanced in the highs, mids, and lows. Of course it won't replace an actual 7.1 sound system but for a pair of headphones it's definitely good.I've tried the mic out and I have to say it's about average. The mic's sound quality is not horrible but it's not great either, it's merely adequate and it gets the job done. Overall I mostly play single player games so it's a non issue for me regardless if the mic is bad or great. The build quality is good, it doesn't seem like it would break easily. However it is mostly plastic so keep that in mind, it's not using any premium materials like aluminum or magnesium so long term durability is an unknown but I think they can last 4 to 5 years with good care.
First pair delivered were faulty with only one side working. Disappointing, as Sony used to be a quality brand in past.JL Customer services were excellent in getting replacement next day.Second pair worked perfectly and was easy to set-up/connect to both a soundbar, phone and iPad.As a means of listening to TV with sound loud enough to hear spoken word its perfectly adequate, with good range. Ear cups are a bit small for me and don't entirely cover ears.Reasonably sound quality for music, but at this price what you would expect.Wasn't purchased for microphone so no comments on that.
