Absolutely loved my old Xperia xa1, now 7 years old and locked at Android v7. My apps gradually began to react in their various ways to the age of my phone. When Google pay stopped I took the plunge and upgraded. After looking at the competition, decided that Sony Xperia is still the one for me. So a sad farewell to my faithful and reliable old Xperia, and welcome to my Xperia 10 VI.I'm loving the consistency with my previous model and all the new features. Especially the thumbprint unlock on the side and amazing battery life. Ordered direct from Sony, with best price and great service. Delivered by DPD. Many thanks!!

Fantastic phone at a great price

Love this phone. I've used almost all brands and models of phone, top spec and mid range and the Xperia 10 VI meets my needs perfectly. Beat features are: the mIcroSD card slot, allowing easy photo and music transfer; proper sony music app, instead of the useless YouTube Music app; pretty much stock Android without all the Samsung bloatware; Android Auto finally working properly (always hit and miss with Samsung); great screen, solid stereo speakers, although light on bass, but headphone sound is amaing; slim design for easier hand holding; excellent camera; no awful camera notch/punchole; excellent fingerprint scanner on the power button. All in all finally found a great value, great performance phone at a sensible price. Love it.

Good features, wish for smaller display

Bought as a replacement for 5+ yrs old Xperia which had battery issues for the last two years, then stopped charging completely. Wanted Xperia as I like the features, and also wanted an upgraded android version (old phone had Android 8) as much as possible. While Xperia 10 VI delivers on features and software, the size is sadly bigger than my previous phone, and I wish there was a compact Xperia option with far smaller screen (especially height). Otherwise phone working well, a few features taking a bit longer to get used to, and also my banking app struggled but that seems to be resolved now.

Really nice phone with comprehensive features.
27 July 2024

I previously had the Xperia L1 and recently updated to the 10 VI. It's early days and I'm still getting used to Android 14 but so far it's doing everything I need very well. No problems to get it up & running. It picks up 5G when it can and seamlessly transfers to 4G otherwise. Very good picture quality and the sound seems better than other phones I've used, but any serious listening will be done with wireless headphones. Nice feel and shape, and lighter than previous phone. Great battery life also. Very happy with my purchase.

Sony phone vs Nokia 8
1 October 2024

First of all I want to say that I am very satisfied with Power. Before I bought the Sony phone I was using a Nokia 8 for many years. It was stable, but it started to be worn out. This basic Sony phone is a good replacement, but it is not really faster than my 6+ years old Nokia. Phone makers just built hyped phones, but not real improvements. Except the batteries, the Sony phone has a very good battery. The only thing that I do not like so much is the reduced screen width, but almost all phones have a reduced screen width today. The Nokia 8 has still the best size for me.

Struggling a bit
31 October 2024

I bought this three weeks ago but only managed to get it set up a couple of days ago so still new to it. I choose this mode because my previous two phones were sony xperia compacts. I don't like the bigger size but they stopped making compact phones. I find the interface very different and some of the features of my old phone don't work. The Album app does not work and I was comfortable with it. I still haven't worked out how to turn it off. The button at the side which I had expected to turn it off just brings up another window that is confusing. The interface for the camera is different. I was so used to the old one. The few apps that I use frequently are all down at the bottom and I have to scroll up to find them. Perhaps things will get better but I am currently ... MoreI bought this three weeks ago but only managed to get it set up a couple of days ago so still new to it. Very good battery
23 July 2024

I bought this phone after my husband did a bit of a research to find something that will tick all of our boxes.Still using and SD card, good battery life, not too big to hold in your hand and it is ticking all the boxes. I have been a Samsung user for more than 10 years, so it was quite a big change, but I am starting to get used to it. Battery is amazing giving that I work in an area with little reception and the phone will constantly try to find some. The camera is nothing really comparing to the one from my old Galaxy S10, but maybe I need to look a bit more in the settings. All in all, very good value for money.

Xperia 10 VI - Worst phone I have ever had
16 July 2024

I have had Sony & Sony Ericsson phones since the 1990's and always been impressed with them apart from battery life. Five years ago I switched to a Huawei P30 Pro and was more than happy with that until the screen broke. I had great expectations with my purchase of the Xperia 10VI within days I realised I had made a mistake. Firstly transferring data was difficult and glitchy didn't help that there was no Gallery app provided for photos. The camera is average and old technology. Various glitches the most annoying is a blank screen occasionally when a call is coming through. Overall I do not expect to buy a brand new phone with the specs and technology worse than phones from 5 to 10 years ago.
