The Hisense AX5100G is a good value entry-level 5.1-channel product, but unfortunately its subwoofer doesn't connect to the system, so I had to replace it. Maybe it is out of stock, Walmart has done the return processing, refund is very fast, good credit. In my initial tests, I found that the Hisense AX5100G automatically connects to the TV's ARC HDMI to get a DOLBY ATMOS signal without having to set up the TV beforehand. Although the sound from the surround speakers is weaker, the virtual sound field fills the space just right. USB can also turn on surround when playing music, which sounds special. The overall sound quality of the system is clear, pure and layered, but because the subwoofer does not work, the effect is seriously discounted. It is a pity! Hope to improve the design, turn off the power or enter the standby state, the indicator turns red, more energy saving.

That’s very surprising! Really incredible: who can leave any positive review about this… peace of plastic. It’s not just a mediocre audio system. It’s simply useless. I have experience with 5.1 settings setup. Was ARC connected and troubleshooted multiple times before I understood that it’s not even close to the home cinema parameters. 2 Surround speakers are so quiet and inoperative that you should literally put your ear close to the dynamic to figure out that’s actually on! Subwoofer is big enough to have a potential, but is barely working as well! The only thing that produces any sound is the central speaker. 10% better sound than your basic TV. That’s it. Return without any hesitation.

So far so good. I was a little worried about getting this since it is a new item and there are hardly any reviews anywhere but decided to take a chance since it was a good deal.I hooked this up to a Sony Bravia TV and it paired flawlessly and works great, sound bar also works with tv remote and automatically turns on and off when you turn the TV off and on. I love the look of the speakers as well. Some minor cons there is a big display on the front of the speaker that shows what setting you are using so while watching at night in the dark you have this bright light on the speaker and I don't care for that. Also when shut off the sub has this blue flashing light that constantly flashes on the wall since it is disconnected from the main speaker which is annoying but ... MoreSo far so good. My experience: Boo-Boo speakersI purchased this set in hopes to improve my TV/Movie watching experience with the new LG-55UQ80 Smart TV I purchased from another retail store. The tv is an entry level smart tv, which I used without any external speakers for about a week.Once I had the opportunity, I opened and installed the Hisense AX5100G. Installation was a breeze and the Bluetooth speakers connected automatically. I used the ARC/HDMI input in hopes for a more stable and effective connection. So, now for the performance:I was quite underwhelmed with the performance of this setup. I WASN’T expecting professional/movie theater quality, I was only searching for something to enhance the 2-3 hours that I have to watch TV per-week. I WASN’T expecting professional/movie theater quality, I was only searching for something to enhance the 2-3 hours that I have to watch TV per-week. Instead I received 1990 Toshiba Tube Tv quality sound.1. The sound bar lacked any depth to the point my TV speakers created more crisp and rich sounds.2. The rear speakers… well… the sound was nearly non existent. I literally have to put the speakers to my ear to hear any sound from them.3. The subwoofer was the only decent thing in the set…but barely. So what I’m saying is, my Entry level tv has better sound quality than this entire set! Lol.Simply put, PLEASE save your money!!!For this price, You’re better off just buying a quality standalone Sound bar from a good brand. I can guarantee you, you’d be happier.I hope this saves at least 1 poor soul from wasting their hard earned money and time on this piece of junk.
Okay first day impressions. Build quality not as bad as I was expecting from some of the reviews. Sound quality more than adequate. Especially for apartment living. If I was in a house, instead of an apartment I might have a different opinion. But for apartment living this is much more than adequate. There is less mid-range then in my previous subwoofer, but more base. I am very school and Adobe Atmos and these do more than a decent job. I had to change my television from Dolby pro sound to pass through before I could get the sound right. I will give it a few more days and update my post. I was expecting great things from this sound bar. I have had 2 Hisense televisions with the latest being a 4K ULED 55", I absolutely love it. I was running a comparably priced soundbar from a top of the line competitor, it has a sync problem with an ARC connection so was using a digital optical connection to clear up the lag. It sounded great with Amazing Chanel separation and clairity also the ability to control the sound from each speaker. But now I can't control the bar with my TV remote. So I ordered the Hisense 5.1 soundbar.Well, the Hisense sound system sounds alright, but not nearly as good. There is very little control over rear surround speakers with no control at all over left and right balance... Front or back! So I ordered the Hisense 5.1 soundbar.Well, the Hisense sound system sounds alright, but not nearly as good. There is very little control over rear surround speakers with no control at all over left and right balance... Front or back! With the rear speakers up to the max of 5 they can barely be heard with little to no discrete sounds at all, it sounds more simulated sound than anything else. The subwoofer is sometimes too powerful with no way to control its volume. Because of this, the sounds coming from the main bar sounds thin and tinny in comparison. I fiddled with the controls for 2 days and discovered that if I turned the surround OFF the quality of the sound improved greatly, however, that isn't what I bought a 5.1 surround sound system for! The last thing I tried also helped, but didn't make it as perfect as I want it to be. I turned off the Bass Boost and it seemed to balance the sound so the highs and midrange didn't sound so tinny. The manual is not very detailed and doesn't explain lot of the controls and setting, what they are for and what they do. I had the same complaint with the manuals for the Hisense TVs.I'm not real happy with this purchase. considering how happy I am with the Hisense Televisions. I guess if you've never had a decent 5.1 surround bar system it may sound pretty good. However, you aren't goung to hear things move around the room, or come from behind or beside you with this one. It's all in front of you, even with 2 rear speakers that you'll rarely know are even there. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this a better listening experience I'd love to hear them. At this point I'd say forget this and stick with the Hisense televisions, they are a lot of bang for your buck. The sound bar, not so much!
Not bad after playing with the settings.I have an old Sony 5.1 system which cost $600 in 2012 and it’s not to different. Atmos on the hisense may make this better for me.I did notice the tinny sound mentioned in online reviews, but that was fixed by setting EQ to night and adjusting the treble. Although some shows seem to be a problem no matter what. For some reason Netflix 5.1 sounds bad on both my Sony and this new hisense. Setting the TV audio to PCM seems to be better on Netflix for both systems.Testing Star Wars force awakens on Disney is where I can really hear the difference. Connecting my fire stick, my tv showed “Dolby atmos” and it is better than the Sony playing at Normal 5.1. The hisense is a lot better in that regard. For the budget price not sure you can get better.
System looks nice, but fails to deliver. Sound quality for cost, not so good. First, I’ll mention surround sound. Rear speakers just sound like echo/delay. Like at stadium with sound reflecting from back. Over all sound with atmos, just doesn’t cut it. Bass speaker did reproduce some good bass depending if music, sounds good, but failed to give a rich room rumbling bass im used to with with Better, higher cost speaker system.I do not hear any treble reproducing symbols or string instruments and muddled the sound. If this is you first set of speakers and you like a lot of mid tone brassy sounds to get loud, this may satisfy you.I’m more towards an audiophile and am picky, but try to be realistic with todays electronic tech being more than just sound, but more about ... MoreSystem looks nice, but fails to deliver. HOOKED UP TO MY PC.
I also paid 129.00 for this set and I really wanted because its a Hisense and wanted it to match my Hisense TV. But my TV only has ARC and Not E-ARC. Also tv isnt Dolby Atom certified but still i wanted this set. Problems Sub started Rattling 15 mins after first turn on. Rear speakers not loud and are tiny sounding. Hisense should have put tweeters at least 2 in the sound bar to help clean up the muffled vocals in the sound bar itself. Dont want to return for a refund and a replacement if possible. But none avalibe in my area. I so wished this system work right out of the box. I will see if Hisense will help me fix this one first before giving up on it. Thank You
I got this for 129$. This cannot be compared to 1500$ speaker unit but does its job quite well for its price! Note that this is a large unit (3 speakers, 1 subwoofer) and not recommended if looking for a premium speaker unit!Pros and Cons:My TV doesn't have eARC so used ARC instead. Note that Hisense user manual recommends using eARC to unleash true potential of 5.1 channel sound. The only thing needed is connecting three power cables to speakers, 1 coaxial cable between rear speakers, 1 HDMI ARC to soundbar. They connected to each other quickly!
