The JBL Bar 300 is a compact soundbar that packs a mighty punch. From the factory, JBL provides everything you need to get started. On the Bar 300, I adjusted the bass to the max, level 5, and didn't adjust any other equalizer settings. I also allowed the soundbar to automatically calibrate before listening to any music. Afterwards, I listened to my favorite demo song, Comfortably Numb and was blown away. I was surprised at the bass the Bar 300 provides without a subwoofer. It also clearly presented the high notes with great clarity. Watching Twitch streams allows the Dialogue Enhancement tech to really shine. Broadcasters now come through over the gameplay and music without being muffled.Overall the Bar 300 is a great compact sound bar that brings JBL's high quality sound to the living room.

My son got a new TV in his room and needed a small soundbar to get better audio in his room. This is where the JBL Bar 300 comes into play! It's a small soundbar with a big sound. My son loves gaming and listening to music so the Bar 300 definitely helped, a lot! The unboxing experience was unexpected, the sound bar came inside its own velvet-like bag(maybe feels like cotton) and all the accessories were well packed in a smaller box the accessories it came with was a control, power cable, 2 batteries, HDMI cable, wall mounts and hardware, and product info/setup guide/warranty. I was impressed by this presentation. Setup was easy and it took a few tries to connect the Bar 300 to WiFi but nothing that stressed me out. I was impressed by this presentation. Setup was easy and it took a few tries to connect the Bar 300 to WiFi but nothing that stressed me out. The first thing I did was download the JBL One app to use it as a remote control, my son is 5 and he's very good at loosing remotes so I hid the one that came with the Bar 300 and used my phone instead. Calibrating the equipment for his room was simple, just hit the calibration option in the App and the soundbar took care of the rest. When it comes to sound, it was louder than expected and the internal sub definitely helps a bit during action scenes and punchy music. He has a smaller room about 12' X 12' and Dolby Atmos content sounds good since audio is constantly being bounced off across the room. I like the way the Bar 300 sounds and so does my son since it is waaaay better that the tv speakers. The only thing is that my son has a 4K streaming box, the one with bitten fruit, and a gaming system. The TV only has 1 HDMI input so we are using it for the streaming device since it has 4K pass through and HDMI is needed for Dolby Atmos content. The gaming system is being connected to the TV and through and optical cable to get the audio to the Bar 300. If you are looking for s small soundbar for a bedroom then the Bar 300 is what you are looking for.
I purchased this as an "Open Box-Excellent" from Best Buy, which was a pretty good deal on its face, to replace a previous JBL soundbar (moved to a different TV in our house) which I was very happy with, but decided the BAR 300 would be an upgrade for our 75" TV in our living room.Well, the BAD news was that when I received the BAR 300 in the mail, things looked great until I realized the power cord and the HDMI cable were missing and that the remote control had apparently been damaged by the original purchaser (it still worked, but they tried to open the battery compartment the wrong way and cracked the plastic case). I contacted Best Buy and they initially told me to return it, but the Bar itself was in excellent shape; I contacted JBL/Harmon after registering the BAR 300 and offered to buy replacement parts, but JBL/Harmon just replaced all three for free (even knowing it was Best Buy that had apparently screwed up). I went back to my local Best Buy and, to their credit, was refunded the difference between "Open Box-Excellent" and "Open Box-Poor", about a $40 difference.I'm still working on getting the Bar to recognize my home network, so I'm using an optical hookup for the time being (which works quite well). The sound is excellent, the Calibr button seems to have done a good job getting the soundbar to work properly for my living room configuration, and it works quite well with my XBox console.I've enjoyed JBL/Harmon's quality with my smaller soundbar for the last few years and it works quite well with my other TV (which hooked up without a hitch) and I'm impressed by the quality of the BAR 300 build. I didn't want a separate subwoofer for a few reasons and, while the BAR 300 isn't exactly great surround sound, it does a lot better than my Samsung's TV speakers and better than my old JBL soundbar.
I got this product for a product test a few weeks ago and recently startet testing it.It was very easy to install with the JBL ONE App, but even easier to just connect it via HDMI cable and just using it with the tv.That´s where the soundbar lost its fifth star. I would have really liked to give the five star review, but unfortunately the soundbar has some input delay and you cant use it with the TVs speakers. The second thing why he didnt get the full five stars is - sometimes the soundbar just shuts down and you have to turn it on again. Which would not be quite the problem (though it definitely shouldnt be like this), if the soundbar wouldnt need some time to start itself.Coming to the positive things now.The quality of the sound is very nice. It has a nice amount of bass (which you can adjust via the remote) and is quite loud if you want it to. It gives a perfect feeling of te actions in whichever movie you are watching, giving direct response to your body via the furniture youre sitting on ;)Even the sound quality playing your favourite songs is incredibly nice.To come to an end i have to say that i would definitely recommend this product to everyone who is looking for a nice and easy to use soundbar with decent quality of sound - even though there are some minor problems with the soundbar.
JBL dissapointed me. I just bought the 300 BAR and 1st issue was trying to read the small print user manual/ instructions. Then 2nd issue was trying to set up the item, setting up the wifi network was not easy. Then it went into update mode for which I received "failed" message on the app so I chose "try later".These were only the minor dissapointments. The big let down is the sound itself. While it has enough bass for a small bedroom like mine, it drowns all the actors speach in the movies. Reducing the bass level seems to sort marginally the isue but then whats the point having bass at all? It lacks frequencies separation and voice clarity settings, so JBL bar300 is a dissapointmemt. It states 5 speakers but you get only 3 in reality, as 2 are pointed pointlessly sideways and you have to stand sideways to hear better the actor voices. Also Dolby Atmos button on remote seemes doing nothing really, says "unsupported" when pressed. The voices are drowned and sound weak in the overall sound emitted by the bar. Look for other brands if you want good movie experience, I will most likely return mine.Bad points: weak and unclear voicesThe good points: great music sound.
I actually toyed with the idea of buying a soundbar from a well-known competitor, since I already own three speakers from this manufacturer. Unfortunately, it did not offer the function to loop through the HDMI signal. My TV is already a few years old and does not yet offer aARC function. Thus, operating the soundbar would have required an additional (very expensive) add-on device. Thus, I decided on the basis of test results for the JBL soundbar and am so far completely satisfied. The device arrived well packaged and could be installed without any problems. However, I do not understand why the app required for the start-up necessarily needs my current status. This could be improved in terms of data protection.Great: I can safely put the remote control (whose ... MoreI actually toyed with the idea of buying a soundbar from a well-known competitor, since I already own three speakers from this manufacturer. This could be improved in terms of data protection.Great: I can safely put the remote control (whose design I don't really like) aside, since it is operated by my Amazon TV remote control.Initially, we were bothered by the big difference between the speech and the effects. However, after we found out that this can be adjusted with the "Bass" button, we are very happy with the sound. Even in louder parts of the movie, there is still capacity for improvement. Thus, we are very satisfied with the JBR BAR 300 and would buy it again.
There is so much to like about this product it's hard to know where to begin. From the simplistic, sleek design, to the unbelievable quality and ease of use, the Bar 300 is worth every penny.Having not used a dedicated sound bar previously, I didn't have a great idea of how much the user experience could be enhanced from such a simple product. The Bar 300 uses very straightforward connections and even comes with mounting supplies (including a drill guide which was extremely helpful!)After mounting directly under the TV, I stepped back and tried a variety of movies and shows, all of which were brought to life in a new way thanks to the sound quality. Everyday watching was immediately enhanced, being able to clearly pick up dialogue and distinguish from background noises and sound effects. The noticeable difference was most evident after watching several different sports programs. You could hear crowd noise during football games but it was not drowned out from commentators. During golf and tennis, it was easy to hear when players were near a microphone without having to increase the volume by 25%.Personally, I also enjoyed the Bar 300 having an integrated subwoofer, as the clean look of the bar under the TV was not complicated by having to place an external device to deliver bass.Overall, I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to improve the audience experience of watching TV. Whether it be live sports, movies or shows, the quality and value at this price point would be difficult to beat.
I got this product about a month ago after searching for a long time for a sound bar for my main lounge TV. I have been in the market for a while for a sound bar. I have been really impressed about that bass quality from the productThe product arrived promptly and the packaging was secure. Upon installing the product it was very easy to understand and connect to my TV and I am grateful for the simple instructions. Once connected, I was easily able to figure out how to set the audio settings. It was a slight more faff to get the soundbar connected to my wifi though once the process was done, I think it is a great feature that AirPlay is built into this speaker. This was a huge selling play for me. Albeit, it is slower at connecting and would benefit from “Matter” support I think. As for the looks of the device I fear this is lacking; the soundbar definitely does not feel as premium as some other products that I have seen; and does not draw the attention of others in the same way. Though I think that at this price point, it is perfectly acceptable and a handsome product. On the audio quality, the bass is impressive - I was not expecting this and it was more than I expected. Further, the ability to adjust the bass easily through the remote is something that I have greatly appreciated. The mid tones are somewhat more lacking in comparison and have felt marginally drowned out by comparison; I had to turn the bass down from the default to get a glance that I preferred.Overall, this is a great product and I would recommend it to others.
