Maybe optical would work better hahWe watched our first movie with it and enjoyed the sound much more vs the built-in TV one. I do wish it was Dolby Digital Plus and not just standard as most content is plus and I had some trouble getting third party video players to play correctly since they needed to downscale to DD instead of DD+.I will say I wish it had a tad more base. It advertises base boost but it is an audio mode, not a stand alone setting like other bars. This means if you want it in say adaptive or movie mode, you can't have base boost because that is a mode itself.Overall I would give it a 3.5 if I could. I hope they offer firmware updates to improve a little more (via USB).

I have been watching TV with closed captions for a year now as I was having difficulty getting all of the dialog, especially conversations. Now I turned them off and my wife tells me that she is "in heaven" not having me say "what did he/she say" every few minutes. The system incorporates center and side speakers into the soundbar and produces the best simulated surround I have experienced. It is wireless surround compatible allowing you add additional wireless rear speakers should you so desire. I am convinced I will be content with this system for years to come and believe that you would also.

I love how compact this Samsung HW-S700D 3.1ch Soundbar is. It’s really impressive how much sound they managed to pack into such a small package. The Dolby Atmos sound is amazing, and it definitely elevates the home entertainment experience. It sounds so much better more fun to listen to music and movies. and TV now.The only issue I really had with it was the setup process. The included manual is very basic and tells you to scan a QR code for further instructions.At last, after figuring it out, the soundbar was pretty easy to connect and configure.
