Took this as only filtration with my camel pak for hiking the west coast trail. Doubled as a gravity filter without the nipple connected. I can't understand how it works so well for the price. Great buy. Will be using this for day hikes in and around local area as well. No need to remember to fill with filtered tap water at home. No more chlorine. It worked so well, I'm actually suspect that it is even doing it's job and I just got lucky not getting sick filling from the rivers. As a kid I would drink straight form the streams all the time and never got ill, but being in remote wilderness I didn't want to take the chance.
