*This reviewer received a gift in exchange for helping other Spanx shoppers.* I've had some experience with shapewear here and there but none of them were so well constructed as these shorts. On the inside front you can see a sort of paneling that keeps you in and smooths everything out. The back looks a little funny because it has the actual área for your cheeks, once they're on they really sculpt and lift your derriere like nothing else!! They're a bit of a workout to squeeze into but I also did it with boyshorts on so that might be my bad. When I was getting them situated, I honestly thought I had ripped a hole but these shorts actually have a folded over open crotch for easier restroom usage which is great. It feels like they really spent a good amount of time ... More*This reviewer received a gift in exchange for helping other Spanx shoppers.* I've had some experience with shapewear here and there but none of them were so well constructed as these shorts. They sculpt, keep you in, pop your behind, don't roll or cut you off anywhere, and they kept in mind that you’ll need a bathroom break at some point.

I bought these to create a slim and seamless line under a mulberry silk skirt (which, by nature, will show EVERY lump and bump). This is a fantastic foundation garment to wear under this type of fabric, wonderful shaping and great for tummy-flattening! I can't say how happy I am with this purchase - it is exactly what I needed, and does everything it is supposed to!I will likely purchase in a different color as I can see this as a staple, easy to wear, soft and comfortable and you don't feel like you are being squeezed by an anaconda after a few hours' wear. I did purchase a small and medium as I saw mixed reviews on the sizing and the small was perfect, I am 5'5" and 150 lbs with a muscular frame.

These On Core Shorts are a somewhat good design, as the leg comes down a little lower on the thigh, at least, and there’s some smoothing of the entire region. The color is good and the material has just enough slip to wear under clingy garments without everything sticking together. They generally seem well made, but are lacking in a few important areas. There is no adhesive kind of thing at the thigh cuff, unfortunately, or some feature to keep them in place without creating an indentation. There’s nothing to keep them from rolling up under leggings or tight jeans, etc., either. The waistband has a similar problem, but it will roll down.We don’t wear these things to have them be visible, so it defeats the purpose when the undergarment will end up showing under ... MoreThese On Core Shorts are a somewhat good design, as the leg comes down a little lower on the thigh, at least, and there’s some smoothing of the entire region. The color is good and the material has just enough slip to wear under clingy garments without everything sticking together. They generally seem well made, but are lacking in a few important areas. There is no adhesive kind of thing at the thigh cuff, unfortunately, or some feature to keep them in place without creating an indentation. For my first pair of shape wear these were a disappointment and a waste of money. I have these a 3 out of 5 though because they are comfortable and I enjoy the compression sensation. These however do nothing to shape or slim as the fabric has way too much give. The gusset opening is handy. Unfortunately these do not stay in place at all, the thighs ride up (so annoying) and the top rolls down. I don’t understand the hype. I am not going to buy from this brand again, and have purchased from a competitor.
I am not sure why there are bad reviews. This is my first pair of Spanx but before I wore different brands and my biggest issue was it aways rolled down from the back. I couldn't decide between the medium and large but I went for the large. I am 5'3 and weigh 160 pounds. This shape wear is very thick so even if I got a medium it may have fit but it probably would've been uncomfortable. The large was still difficult to get on but it snatched me in all the right places. I wore it all day today under a bodycon dress and it looked AMAZING. It goes high enough for my bra to go over it to prevent from rolling down. But my bra did end up moving around on the back but the shape wear still stayed in place! This tells me for people that it rolled down, you may have gotten a small size. This shape wear has given me so much confidence that I went out and bought more fitted dresses. Also, on the legs, they did not roll either. I highly recommend this shape wear if you really want it to snatch you.
I was desperate to like these and prove other reviews wrong but I couldn't, they're right. There is nothing at the top to keep it from rolling down. It stayed fine in the front but the back immediately rolled down, so weird. The otherwise fit great. I might even need a size down to really get the shapeware effect. I'm short and these come up to right under my boobs or at my bra line, but that is normal for high rise spanxs. I have a pair from 8 years ago that seem to be an older version of this that have a material at the top that keeps them from rolling so I know its been done before.
I love Spanx. I've bought lots of their garments over the years and recently bought their leggings high are brilliant. These though are a different material - more like a swimsuit fabric - and they don't have the usual silicon lining around the hem to help keep them in place. They also aren't particularly snug, just difficult to get on and then weirdly don't actually hold anything 'in'. They don't smooth as well as the normal high rise thigh shapers either, the material is ribbed in the wrong place (for me) - tightest around the upper abdominal area then just no support at all from the waist down. Honestly the same as if I'd bought a cheap bathing suit a size too small. They also rolled down constantly, I had to try and tuck the top under my bra just to keep it ... MoreI love Spanx. They also rolled down constantly, I had to try and tuck the top under my bra just to keep it vaguely in place for 5 minutes but as soon as I sat down / stood up or moved an arm They pinged down again. I'm not particularly big, size 10 usually and got the XS. Any bigger and it would have been loose, but still difficult to get on initially. There's no give in the material, which sounds like what I wanted in theory but I now realise you want a decent amount of stretch so it pulls back in again once on. Definitely not worth the expensive price tag, and absolutely not suitable for summer - not breathable at all!! Best avoided and stick to original Spanx, if anything.
I’m new to shape wear, but because I bloat with almost anything I eat, and have a new body con to wear, I thought I’d look into these options.I normally wear a size 0; I believe the recommended size I should get was the XXS or XS. But, after reading the reviews, I ordered a S. For context, I’m 5’4”, 105 lbs. My hips are a tad disproportionate -larger- to my shoulders and chest. Meaning, I’m a 0 up top and occasionally need a 2 bottom. It really depends on the label.I tried these on after eating a big pasta dish - full bloat mode. A 2 should fit my tummy post-pasta. It’s the perfect condition to put these babies to the test.Even with the S, I felt like my eyes were going to pop out of my head!! Holy moly. There’s no way I could wear these and enjoy an evening out. ... MoreI’m new to shape wear, but because I bloat with almost anything I eat, and have a new body con to wear, I thought I’d look into these options.I normally wear a size 0; I believe the recommended size I should get was the XXS or XS. There’s no way I could wear these and enjoy an evening out. I’d be so preoccupied with how uncomfortable I’d be. Don’t get me wrong, these did what they’re supposed to -completely flat tummy- but at the cost of any kind of comfort. I’d rather have a fluffed tummy than wear these with a flat tummy. I’ll try something less aggressive. The hunt is still on for me.
I have a pair of old spanx shorts (slimcognito style) which I love! Im just under 5’5” & they worked for me when I was 130 pounds & have stretched their little hearts out & still work now that I’m 170 pounds (post baby). That being said, clearly they’ve stretched & I was looking for a new pair that actually fit me so I tried this On Core style. At the time I purchased these I weighed about 145 pounds, I sized up to a medium & they were DIGGING into my ribs. My stomach didn’t feel nearly as flattened as it had in my old pair & while it smoothed, they only place I felt it squeezing was my ribs! I had a deep line from the top of them when I took them off & I’ve never worn them since. I was extremely disappointed because I loved my first pair so much. It’s bizarre ... MoreI have a pair of old spanx shorts (slimcognito style) which I love! It’s bizarre because this is not a problem area for me - it’s not like I have a large rib cage. Just didn’t feel like it slimmed at all. It just hurt & was not worth the pain.
