Bought these to help me cut trim some garden trees down. Whilst they made light work of the easily accessible branches, slicing through even larger branches than probably I should have, anything at long reach were impossible because of how wide you need to open them to activate the ratchet. If there was a way to adjust how wide you need to open it, or even disable to ratchet system and use a manual scissor action instead they'd be perfect.I'd say a very good, strong, well built product that will slice through good sized branches easily but only whilst the branch is easily accessible to you at a comfortable height.

I bought these a replacement for my broken loppers. They are sturdy and appear well built. Only used them last night for first time, and so far they are outstanding cutting through thick branches like butter. The ratchet action takes a bit get used to but once used to it, no looking ack. They certainly cut well. I am delighted with them so far

Took to using these soon after I brought them home, they work very well and slice through the recommended 2" branch with easy. Though green branches may be a little bit of an ask but they are recommended up to 2" with dead branches and they cope very well with these. Happy with purchase. Very easy to use once you become familiar with the working action.
Last year I paid a man to take off the new growth to the the trees in my garden as I did not have anything in the shed that could do the job.Now I have this wonderful lopper which is even better than I thought. It cuts through thick branches like they are butter. It is a beast !I am like a child with a new toy since I bought this, and I am not lending it to anyone. Get your own !Now all I need is someone to take all the cuttings away.I would recommend this to anyone. I am so pleased with this purchase I have shouted it from the rooftops to anyone who will listen.Buy it.. you will thank me for telling you about it.
I bought these unseen and find them a little difficult to operate because the ratchet mechanism needs to be fully open before they will cut. This means a wide spread to the handles when they are extended, which in turn makes it difficult to reach into small spaces and the ratchet seems to need "priming" with short strokes before it will cutOtherwise they cut well and the ratchet mechanism makes for an easy cut
I love these loppers. I used them for the first time yesterday and they were really sharp and able to cut through awkward dead branches at the base of my plant that I couldnt get before. The locking system to adjust the handle was a game changer for me too. My old ones just twisted and would undo on occasion. I havent tried thicker or high branches to comment on weight.
Just bought this as a replacement for a more flimsy model. It is extremely strong and first thoughts are it is excellent. Minor downside is that it works on a ratchet system so takes a little getting used to rather than a straight open/close model
Not used in anger yet, but from a trial these seem much sturdier that the cheaper S&J ratchet loppers they are replacing. A bit heavy, but these are for larger branches and so that is to be expected. You will likely need some smaller anvil secateurs to use along side of these if you are tackling planting in a range of thicknesses. Looses 1 for quality as some of the screws were loose, but easy to tighten up.
bought these to replace my old ones, when you extend them it is difficult and awkward to use the ratchet system. very slow to cut small branches quickly. blades kept springing the the fully open position. the lock kept closing and locking the loppers during use. shall be returning for a refund. on the plus side, if you have all the time in the world to faff about and the lock does not engage they are very powerful loppers
