After guaranteeing next day service, they actually called me back an hour later, saying my bike was done. They were very honest with their work, and the did the best repair for the cheapest price. I was very happy with their work, customer service, and pricing. In hindsight, the young guy that I perceived as being rude, was actually looking out for our safety. Although he was not able to articulate it as well and as graciously as the vintage bike shop rep., both of their assessments were the same. Both bike shops refused to do a tune up on a bike that was no longer safe to ride, even though other bike shops would go ahead and do the tune up, anyway.I guess the perceived difference in attitude, comes from the focus of the two stores. The vintage bike shop shared the compassion, excitement and enthusiasm for the old vintage bike, and so they shared in the sadness of not being able to restore it. They also found a similar Schwinn in immaculate condition to replace it with.In summary , I feel that Erik's runs an efficient business with integrity.I will definitely return to that store for service, parts, and accessories. As for bikes, I am very happy with my 1952 Schwinn . . . ;-)

Great value for the price

The tube was of great value for the price of the tire tube! I was road biking when I caught some glass, and one punctured the previous tube quite quickly. However, after replacing these tubes, refilling air, and riding in more rough conditions, the tubes held up.I plan on getting more of the tubes as a backup in case I need to replace them, but I have not had to replace my tubes after multiple 20+ mile rides. Installing was very simple once I got the tires off and the valves are sturdy for filling up air.

Bought 2 from a local bike shop. $11 a piece. Installed first which was fine. Second one burst at 35 psi while installing. First one burst the next morning. Took both to the bike shop. They replaced one at no cost, but that one also bursted while the bike tech was installing. For some reason this tube is longer than the original 20x1.5/1.75 Kenda tube. This is for a foldable bike.

Malfunction Issues
13 April 2023

Bought three of these and all three had a malfunction issue where the valve separated from the tire when removing my bike pump after inflating. The valve just slid right out, releasing all the air. These were expensive tubes and to have this issue was incredibly frustrating, especially when it happened while replacing a tube on a ride. Need to be able to depend on tubes and I can't depend on these.

Perfect black colour
24 April 2020

Tredz asked if I could review my purchase of this inner tube. I'm slightly bemused why anyone would need more than size, valve type and price to help decision making. So for you un-decided, here is what I think of it. This is the first tube my bike has needed in 20 years. The old one was looking a bit like a pin cushion from all the thorns and patches over the years. This new tube is the business. It has a perfectly matching black colour with my other inner tube. The valve fitted the hole in the rim and connector on my pump perfectly. Air is not included in the price. You have to supply it yourself but it is normally easy to find unless you are planning to cycle on the moon. Service from Tredz was perfect as usual and delivery was quick. They spring leaks at the seam
21 April 2020

The Good: I really like the Schrader tire valves with the threaded steel stems and the retaining nut. The Bad: I have had several of these tubes go bad on me. They tend to get small leaks at the seams. I carry a spare tube with me when I ride, and one time the brand new tube I was carrying turned out to be leaking after I made a tube change. Fortunately, I was carrying some patches as well. I was able to make it home after finding the leak (a bit difficult when on the trail) and patching it. The leak was at the seam. When I checked the tube I had replaced, I found the leak in that one was again at the seam. I don't know if this is a fluke or not, but this appears to be a weak point in Specialized mountain bike tubes. I have two other Specialized tubes I have patched after I had found slow leaks at the seams. I have found only one leak in these tubes due to a puncture. I want to check other reviews before buying any more of these tubes.

Tubes
16 May 2023

I purchased 7 tubes and the valves were defective. I would initially inflate one and could not release the air from it. I had to remove the valve to release the air. This happened with all 7 tubes. Fortunately I had a couple of old tubes from which I removed the valves and installed them in the new tubes. They worked correctly. Specialized replaced the 7 tubes which I have yet to see if this problem persists. If the problem repeats with the new tubes, I will contact Specialized.

Tubes and more!
22 September 2021

First of all, when I had a flat on a Sunday a couple of weeks ago, they fixed it immediately when I walked it in. They also checked some other issues I asked about at the same time; I then scheduled an appointment for the following week. The work was done quickly and before the promised time, and everything I requested was done.I took my first ride today with the new tires (expensive but worth it!), the reset handle bars, readjusted brakes and gears. It's so much better riding a well maintained bike! Thanks to everyone at ERIK'S Dinkytown!

Valve stick, break off
11 December 2022

For two of these tubes the valves stuck shut, preventing me from releasing air to drop the pressure (e.g. to replace the tire). And for a different two tubes, the end of the valve snapped off while I was pumping them up. I have not had these problems with other Specialized tubes. Perhaps I just got a bad batch?

specialized stuff is often the
27 September 2022

specialized stuff is often the best products. The basic tunes for instance are not big and bulky and have a wider range (20-28) of width than other brands. So they can be used on either my gravel or road bike. Armadillos are also the best puncture proof tire on the market. They outlasted gatorskins in my head to head test where I put one on front other on back of both of my bikes. Got more flats on the gatorskins and the gatorskins wore through to the shielding underneath the rubber before the armadillos.
