I had been rather discouraged at how slow my swimming had become, but now I remember that I used to wear somewhat skimpier racing trunks. These are somewhat more decent, and it is good to be back in the land of the aero/aqua-dynamic.Measure your waist and buy according to that size. Pros: Looks and fits great. Seems to be holding up well despite frequent use (2-3 times per week) for the last 4 months.Cons: The holes where the cord is is fraying a little. Only slightly.
Pros: The close fit is convenient for lane-swimming, where style matters less than function. They don't drag and they stay fastened. If you have a slim, flat abdomen, which I haven't, these probably look way cool. And mine were half price.

Pros: Very snug so minimal drag in the water.Cons: Need to be careful with care - washed a pair accidentally with a biological washing powder and their elasticity dissappeared making them unwearable. To be fair they're clearly marked - entirely my fault.
Worn this type of trunks before so I knew what to expect. Not disappointed. Recommended
