Spirited Away (Blu-ray)

This is a movie about the struggles of growing up and hopefully growing into a less self-centred person. It features beautiful animation by Studio Ghibli that needs to be seen on Blu Ray to appreciate. In particular those interested in Japanese culture Spirited Away is a must see movie.

Very different from the rest of mainstream Japanese Animation. More like a classical, traditional animated version, just like Disney animation.Story can be understandable in the middle of the animation-feature length film, though for first timers of seeing this would need to adapt to its style & rhythm.Overall, the movie is a life lesson for a child who just needs to pay attention more & be motivated at the same time.A must watch for everyone!

John Lasseter, the creator Toy Story, has a shrine at Pixar dedicated to Studio Ghibli because of films like Spirited Away. Spirited Away has something that all ages can relate to and take from. It is one of the few films where both adults and children will laugh and cry together, as they follow the story of Chihiro who becomes trapped in the spirit world and must find a way to free her parents. Every single scene is filled with such creativity and attention to detail that American animation simply pales in comparison. And the voice acting from renowned actors (Lasseter convinced Walt Disney Pictures to lead the English dub!) is extremely good as well.
