Spongebob has been a fan of mine for years! I have simply adored the video games for quite some time, and now I have just bought this game. I have not played a game like this in such a long time, and I'm elated to find this game because it has everything to do! Literally, you can go anywhere you want if you have a specific amount of spatulas, golden spatulas. You can smash thing, you have bubble powers, and you even slide with your tongue. You play as Spongebob, Patrick, and Sandy. The robot boss's are characters you would never guess. Especially the first boss in jellyfish fields. Hint: not a robot, but fair to beat. I totally recommend this game to anyone who wants to have fun!

Absolutely Not As Advertised

We bought this game for my 5 year old to try, shes just getting into video games. Its completely different than the photos shown. Not easy to do gor an adult, let alone a child. Its more of a pixelated battlefield. We couldnt even return it because it was opened! Do not recommend. Had to give it to my older nephews.

Awesome Deal!

I wanted this collector’s edition when it was $300, but I just couldn’t justify spending that much. The statues are really large, and appear to be higher quality. It’s an exceptionally nice set at the bargain price of $69. So thrilled I could pick one up on clearance. I’ve only played the game for about 30 minutes. It’s a decent platformer that plays alot like a crash bandicoot clone, mixed with a little DK 64. So not bad, but not breaking any new ground. Honestly I expected less. Totally worth it at the clearance price! *Beware that most of these are returns I assume, and I would prepare for the exterior box to be damaged. Mine was, but the contents were unharmed. Excellent deal! Super cute!

Battle for Bikini Bottom review

I purchased SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated Shiny Edition for the Nintendo Switch, and it has been a hit with the kids! They absolutely love the game, and it’s full of fun and humor that keeps them entertained. The Shiny Edition also came with a hilarious SpongeBob SquarePants statue, which was a huge bonus. Overall, it’s been a fantastic purchase, and I highly recommend it for any SpongeBob fans out there.

Battle for Bikini Bottom: The BEST Licensed Kids Game?

A licensed kids game that managed to hold the heart of the millions who bought a copy. The game is quite amazing for a licensed kids game and it's held up tremendously, even speedruns and speedrun competitions are still being held for this game. The platforming in this game is simply amazing, and while there are some parts that might require you to look up the solution, like the larry the lobster puzzle found in goo lagoon or the mermalair ball puzzle, overall the game is very simple and can usually be bested by anyone looking for a simple 3d platformer. Give me the Krabby Patty Formuoli

This game is absolutely a must have! I played this one a lot as a child and honestly, now as an adult it's aged pretty well! They actually kept this really close to the original release of this game and I felt like I was back in Bikini Bottom.Going back to play a nostalgic game like Spyro's Trilogy was difficult because it felt too "E for ehhh just the kids" but Spongebob Batle for Bikini Bottom? I'm late 20's in age and had an absolute blast picking this game up. Getting it on the Switch specifically is worth it since it is not graphically demanding, so portable Spongebob was a great choice here instead of console // PC. Hope this helps!

Main Story Mode is the spotlight for this game!

There was alot of hype for this remake of adventure game from the past. And I really was hoping for an amazing online multiplayer mode. While there is online play, you can only do it with randoms, and NOT your friends...which is baffling. Regardless though, the mulitplayer mode is pretty bare bones, hit detection is awful with deaths feeling very unfair, unlimited lives so it never feels like a challenge, characters severely unbalanced with Squidward and Robo-Plankton can mow enemies down with projectiles while the rest of the roster must use a hard to hit melee attack which often gets you hurt so why would pick anyone else other than the 2 projectile launchers is beyond me.The Story mode though is were the main attraction is. It is hard to explain the gameplay in this review but I can assure that the gameplay is excellent and is full of fun. The brilliant thing about this game is how much it pays homage to the show. All the maps are excellent recreation of the locations from the show such as kelp forest, jellyfish fields, sand mountain, Flying Dutchman's Graveyard, Goo Lagoon, and so on. This game makes you feel like you're going through the show. The graphic is pretty great. The scenery is colorful and really matches the aesthetic of the show. With the character models, the characters are very on-model to the show and are expressive. It's quite impressive how detailed Spongebob's expression is in the cutscenes. There are some models that do look a bit weird but it could be that the technology wasn't perfect at the time. Overall, the graphic holds up pretty well in this game. However, there are couple of problems I have with this game. I do not like how all the cutscenes are played without close captioning which can be a big problem for a deaf person like me. It's a shame as the cutscenes are well done and funny. Another thing I don't like is how difficult this game can get at some parts. The Kelp Forest is the worst offender due to its dark color scheme and confusing maps which can be difficult to get through. Good thing is players don't need to clear the entire Kelp Forest to finish the game. There are other examples of difficulty spikes but I won't be stating them in this review. Finally, the music is just downright excellent for this game. Most of the songs in this game is catchy and really captures the tropical feeling, fitting for Spongebob. It also has few songs that will surprise the players with how different it sound like the final level theme. It has short soundtrack but it sure is filled to the brim with quality songs. Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom stands as one of the best 3D platformer I have ever played and it says much for a commercialized licensed game. It presents great graphic, gameplay, musics, and attention to details to the show. This game is a great homage to the show and would be very well enjoyed by every Spongebob fans. I highly recommend this game.
