Lovely little guitar- many beginners or people with smaller hands or shorter arms find the length, fret spacing & weight of a full-size base difficult to manage, which probably is not good for motivation. The mini P-Bass is no bigger than my Telecaster & probably lighter. But it is a high-quality & well finished product, especially at the very reasonable price. It plays beautifully am perfectly happy with it. It is ideal for my purposes as a beginner.

I love this bass, it's perfect for my small hands as I used to play with full size basses. It's essentially a short scale P Bass. You can even upgrade this thing fairly easily. I would like to point out some flaws though. The build quality isn't top notch. The first one I bought had a really bad discoloration in the rosewood neck that I could not get over, and it had some fret buzz. I took it back for an exchange and got a better one. The frets are little off (sharp) on both, not perfect. But it's still very playable out of the box. When I got the second one I noticed some scratches right out of the box. However, the neck was very nice and no fret buzz at all. I'll take it. I am little nit picky when observing instruments. It is a Squier after all, don't expect it ...Ā MoreI love this bass, it's perfect for my small hands as I used to play with full size basses. It's essentially a short scale P Bass. I wish fender made a high quality version of the mini bass. It would be awesome. But for the price and the feel. This is definitely a good bass. I'd recommend it to anyone that has small hands or prefer short scale basses. Just make sure you get a good one, it can possibly be a hit or miss.

A fantastic lightweight axe to have in those close quarter gig venues and always crowded practice rooms. Light weight means you can strap on for hours and not get that Vulcan Death Pinch on your neck muscles. The sound is traditional P bass vibe, but the 1 1/2" nut makes it a J bass feel. I got the red finish just because. I'm considering the Fralin white cover over wound P pick up to put on the mini soon in order to be a Bass of Doom in the collection. Since I've been playing bass over 50 years the short scale bass is very comfortable.

This bass guitar has the right weight for someone with back problems. The sound is good. Watch the youtube videos. My only issue is a hit and miss. This particular BASS had bad fret sprouts. I literally soaked it in FRET dressing and it only improved slightly. I don't have a FRET kit and didn't want to spend $100.00 for a luthier. I have seen these without the fret sprout issues but unfortunately, I received one that did. It does play great. I see complaints about fret buzz. Adjust the truss rod and the bridge. Some of you people need to learn to adjust the truss rod and bridge. I returned it and exchanged with the IBANEZ Mikro. They are both equal.
I'm a guitar player and wanted to learn bass as well. I'm a 25 year old female who is only 5 ft tall so I have smaller hands. I've tried the standard size basses and it would feel very uncomfortable to play since I have smaller hands. This mini bass is the perfect size for me.
Iād read reviews of how good this bass is and had to check it out for myself!Iām starting uni soon so wanted a cheap small bass to take with me.Fit and finish is very good as was the setup. Just had to slightly tweak the intonation.Itās really quick and easy to play and actually sounds very precision like šš¼The G string can have a slight āsizzleā to it but nothing too untoward. The tuners arenāt the best but seem to hold tune ok.I did replace the strap buttons as they are minuscule and my strap came off them too easily.Overall a fun and great sounding addition to anyoneās collection.
Excellent very short scale bass guitar. I have a 34 inch squier affinity P bass and it's way too large. This mini version is a perfect fit for smaller musicians and plays well for the size and price. Also from ordering to delivery was about 19 hours. Fabulous very pleased. Thank you very much.
I visited my nearest Guitar Center to try a Squier Mini Bass. Their inventory stated they only had one in stock, a red one. I took it off the wall and played it and It was very disappointing. The strings were floppy, the sound was uninspiring, and the workmanship was mediocre. While I was trying out a few other basses for fun, my friend wandered the store and, lo and behold, found another Squier Mini Bass, this one black. I played it and it was WONDERFUL. Played great, sounded good, and the workmanship was much better. For some reason, the black one was not listed in their inventory, so it must have slipped by. But I bought it and I'm very pleased with it. Moral of the story...no two are alike. Try before you buy, or be comfortable with returning it if you buy ...Ā MoreI visited my nearest Guitar Center to try a Squier Mini Bass. Their inventory stated they only had one in stock, a red one. My Mini P is here, seriously nice for the small $!The E string doesn't have the same amount of tension as a normal bass and the scale length makes the strings feel somewhat floppy in a sense, but i'm shocked at how good it actually sounds! Sounds larger and deeper than my old 2000's MIJ bronco....yep, Mini P is a keeper!I will say pics don't do it justice, this thing is SMALL! Bathroom scale says mine is in the 6lb range, and going from 34" to this isn't easy unless you play a 6-string. It's an awesome mod platform, as most hardware is off the bigger basses (unlike the bronco). Quality seems great, think vintage modified series from a few years back, paint is nice, electronics are clear, and mine has good fretwork too!
This is a fun bass for my small hands. I only bought it for a project. I stripped it down and added a Seymore Duncan Quarter Pound pickup, put a Gotoh heavy mass bridge, Jazz Bass tuning keys, and Rotosound flat wound strings. I had to dress the frets. Now I have an outstanding bass that I can play all night long without having hand cramps. When I showed up for the gig the band started to laugh and didn't take me seriously until the music started and their jaws dropped. Love this Mini Precision Bass!!!
