Ordering as always went smoothly. Installing is also a piece of cake, anyone can do it. Riding this oval ring was very nice. I was previously using a 32t round ring. The new oval felt smaller at first but also smoother pedaling. I realized on my first ride that I was using much more of the lower half of my rear cassette, SRAM 50-10 12sp. Immediate comparison to a well traveled mtb loop I did was insane. I averaged a full 1 mph faster over 15 mile moderate mtb loop. I could have sworn when I was riding I was going slower because everything just felt a little easier. I'm now a convert and will never go back to a round ring.

I put this oval chainring on my '23 Santa Cruz Hightower and it made this super easy to ride bike even better and I'm amazed. I'm surprised as I was able to stay in higher gears for much longer while climbing, the result being a much faster pace! I love it!

I got the 32 tooth x-sync 2 oval chainring (was using a 30 tooth round x-sync 2) and it's awesome! Zero difference in pedaling feel for me but it absolutely does climb better than the round version. It really does seem to make going over obstacles while climbing easier.

Great chainring. As with any sram product, the quality and machining is excellent. I actually prefer the all black as opposed to the dark grey and unanodized teeth that came on my bike.I switched from a 32t to 30t because I fount with a 30t chainring the Gearing ratio on the sram cassette works better for my riding style. It's on 2 teeth less but you can notice the difference especially on those really big climbs.
I would give it 5 stars if it came in different colors like the other popular brand. But I'd rather have high quality and a we'll designed components over bling, but different colors would be a nice touch. The chain ring is very durable and not wearing out, of course I'm fanatic about keeping my drive train clean and lubed. I like this chain ring so much I've already got another for when it's time to replace this one. A little expensive but the quality is there and to me worth the price
Was interested in trying oval and have been pleased with the decision. Went from a 34t round to 32t oval and it has been great. It's not life changing but it does help on some of the more technical climbs to just get over some of the obstacles a little easier. Also spend more time in the other gears instead of cross chaining which is nice as well and helps when you're trying to find that one more gear. I was worried it might feel like a different cadence on the flats but didn't feel that at all.
This oval works well on my 2021 Ibis Mojo, (which has just enough clearance for this wider ring. The teeth are more pointed then the Wolftooth, (another nice oval ring), I run on my Giant Trance, (must be a reason Sram did this), and it's also pretty quite. The normal offset for boost spacing) is 3mm I believe, and this ring allows my GX 12 spd (10-50, 500%), to shift smoothly. If you want to help your pedal stroke, ability to keep spinning up a hill with less "dead spots", an oval may be your answer.
I was curious to try an oval ring on my Santa Cruz Blur. Installation was easy, and took maybe a half an hour. I had read that oval rings are easier, so I ordered the next size up. I have to say that theyβre not THAT much easier. Overall it works well on my 12-speed bike. Might upgrade to the 10-52 rear cassette to gain back a bit of cadence on the steep stuff.
Working out perfectly! I had another brands oval chainring in 34T size and it was rubbing my frame. So I switched back to the round until I found this on sale! So glad I returned to the oval as it keeps the traction down while cruising uphill. I'm a fan of the difference an oval ring makes.
No problems with installation providing you got the right type. The AB website helps with picking the right one. Thay remommend going one size up and so I did - I was on 30T round and got 32T oval. Only 2 rides done but I definitely feel the positive difference in cadence/pace on MTB climbs. It didn't feel weird even at the beginning with round vs oval. Recommended
