A very different golf ball ... and worth a try

I've been looking for a new winter ball, and based on the good reviews, decided to use my reward points to pick up a couple of boxes of these at a discount. I've played regular Q-Star Tours before and thought they weren't bad, just not great. The divide concept really makes for a different experience. The contrast is jarring, but it seems to help me focus on a precise strike, especially on the putting green. It took a few holes to get used to it, but before the round was over I had hit enough better-than-usual drives, approaches, and putts that I was taking notice. I took a sleeve out mid-week on a tough golfing day -- 45 deg., wet, and windy -- and proceeded to shoot a 4-over-par 76, just one over my personal best for that challenging, 6,800-yd course. I'm impressed. For this 7 hcp with 95 mph clubhead speed, these were long off the driver and irons, moderately spinny off the wedges, and soft off the putter. The matte finish seemed to hold up well, and one that took a hard bounce off a cart path only came up with tiny blemishes. When I blocked one off the tee, I was able to find it in the leaves thanks to the bright colors, which probably saved me one stroke at least. Definitely recommend giving these a try if you like a softer ball like the Chrome Soft or TM Tour Response.

Really like these balls. They feel great, and you can really see the yellow/red or the yellow/orange. The yellow/blue is almost invisible, so I’d stay away from that. The only negative is the local Golf Galaxy and Dicks are always OUT OF THEM! Somehow PGA Superstore always has them. C’mon guys, get the inventory out here. You’re missing turns!

I stopped at Golf Galaxy with the express purpose of getting a dozen of these balls. They had to get them from the back of the store because they hadn't put them on the shelf yet. First round out of the box resulted in a 74. Drove my playing partners nutts with the dual-colors. They said it bugged them and I know it did because they shot 82, 84 and 89! The next time I used it was in league and I shot an even par 36. I'm pretty sure it's the ball and NOT the golfer! The ball is SOFT (72 compression) so it's not likely going to be for players with higher swing speeds. It spins well, but not like a ProV1 or TP5 and it tends to release after the first bounce. Very durable, no scratches or scuffs after 27 holes. Since I switched to these (from Pro V1), I've achieved my personal goal to shoot 36 on 9. The mat takes a bit to get used to on drives and I lost a few yards, but they rarely go off target. They also are a cool watch as the spinning colors are easy to find. The most benefits are around the green. After a little practice, they respond well to chips and lay out a great line on the green. I've never been more confident on my 6-8fters.

Great ball but not for me.
4 June 2021

I am always up to try new stuff and this ball caught my eye, obviously... I tired them out because I though it would be interesting to see the spin of shots with this ball. It did not disappoint in that regard. The Good: It was fun hitting it with a driver to see if I could keep the spin end-over end and eliminate the side spin. It was also neat around the green to see the ball hit and check. It is a very good alignment feature when putting as well. In regards to performance, this ball will definitely add to your distance. The increase in distance on driver shots as well as iron shots was noticeable over more premium balls. If you need more length off the tee, these are worth a try. I like a ball that provides good green side spin on short chip shots and you will not get that out of this ball.Overall thoughts: They are cheap enough to try and they are fun to play with for golfers of all skill levels. If you need more distance off the tee or having trouble putting, I would recommend giving them a try.

I purchased these golf balls to practice with indoors
26 March 2023

I purchased these golf balls to practice with indoors. Watching the Golf Channel, these were suggested to help focus on the front color of the ball and to stop scooping at the back. I feel it has been very helpful. The colors are also useful when putting, as you can see how the ball is spinning when not stuck correctly. I have been using these multiple times a week and getting a lot of swings in, but the golf balls are still in great shape. The quality of the ball seems great so far. I will consider these again!

3 December 2021

I've been using Srixon Z Star for quite some time now and really had no reason to consider switching to another ball as they perform perfect as far as sound , feel and distance.Curiosity got the better of me when Srixon released the Q Star Divide and tried them out for 9 holes today.1st Hole 365 Dog Leg right to left - 3 wood 9 iron slam dunk ( Eagle 2 )Hit every fairway with consistent Ball flight and Distance.Feel great on approach shots and Putting. If you're in the Market to try a New Ball I think you'll be impressed and seriously deserve a 5 Star Rating.Another superb product from Srixon.

Looks are good. These balls
19 July 2022

Looks are good. These balls feel harder than the normal q star tour balls because of the different cover i think. They are matte and quite hard around the greens (fast speed). Feel like a lower quality ball compared to the white q star tour. If you like the visuals and cant be bothered marking lines on your balls, then these are a good option for the price point

Something Isn’t Right?
8 June 2021

I bought these because they reminded me of the Ping golf balls from the 80’s. But there’s something about the matte finish or material of the ball that just doesn’t feel right. At contact it sounds like you’re hitting a thick piece of plastic instead of that nice crisp sound of a well struck ball. There are manufacturing blemishes on several of them, which makes it feel inconsistent. The only positive I found is that you can see the spin of the ball on drives and long iron shots. The TaylorMade and Callaway soccer balls show the spin on chips and putts, but not on the long shots. Other than that, I wasn’t impressed with anything else. On to the next...

Very nice looking, unique appearance
21 July 2022

I use these on the green for putting. I will line up the ball so that the divide between the colors is the line I want my putt to take on the way to the hole. This way I know if my putting stroke was straight and on line. Also since I use the same ball for putting I know how far it will travel with any given amount of force applied. They aren't any better than other balls off the tee or fairway as far as I can tell. I save them for the greens since they are expensive and I don't want to lose them.
