Yoghurt maker is nicely designed, compact for storage and easy to use. I like that it's s. steel, with a glass jar rather than a plastic container. But best of all, makes the nicest tasting yoghurt ever and saves me money!I'm lactose intolerant and I hadn't previously found a culture that didn't contain powdered milk (which I couldn't use). Very reliable culture makes thick creamy great tasting yoghurt every time, and I can make 4 batches from the one culture. Very happy.

I Have made yoghurt for years, using other products, so was extremely pleased to discover this SS Maker produced a high quality yoghurt in only 8 hours. This compared to the 12 to 24hrs that I'd previously accepted as the 'norm' for making whole milk powder yoghurt. This morning, I finished my first jar, which brings me to my only issue - the shape / narrow neck of the glass jar!Why have a narrow neck? What is wrong with the straight neck Agee Jar variety of bottle? It would be so much easier to get all of the delious yoghurt out. I had to resort to a baking spatula to scrap the last remnants.Other than that, this product gets: Straight A's.

Just like to caveat this with the fact I never write reviews! In a bid to use less plastic and resources I asked for this for my birthday. Surely one of the best birthday presents ever! I made my first batch yesterday. The process is so easy, but therapeutic and the yoghurt totally delicious. It is incredibly satisfying to have made your own plastic-free, beautiful jar of yoghurt and have it sitting in the fridge. I am so excited about trying yoghurt making with different types of milk from the milkman. Cannot recommend highly enough! Thank you Country Trading!

After rehoming approximately 25 one litre plastic yoghurt tubs (the best day of my husband's life he said), I decided enough was enough, and I bought this yoghurt maker. I put my husband in charge of making the yoghurt and his first attempt came out perfectly. He loved the yoghurt and ate the whole litre himself. He said it didn't need any other flavouring added. This was a coconut milk yoghurt, as he has finally accepted that he is also lactose-intolerant (as am I). Making your own non-dairy/lactose-free yoghurt is significantly cheaper than buying it - you can make a whole litre for under $5 (not incl starter). Just watch the saturated fat content of the coconut cream/milk as the various brands are wildly different. The whole set up is a little pricey if you are ... MoreAfter rehoming approximately 25 one litre plastic yoghurt tubs (the best day of my husband's life he said), I decided enough was enough, and I bought this yoghurt maker. The yogurt maker is really nice quality and I enjoyed using it. No issues with it's used. I really enjoyed learning how to identify the water temperature without a thermometer and even the first batch came out really great. I'm very excited to be ableto continue making yogurt at home but be able to customize it more and make it dairy free. I've really been missing having fresh yogurt and I love that we were able to find a daiyfree solution. Would definitely recommend to any else who wants to make dairy free yogurt or anyone that just wants to have more control over ingredients, experiment a little or reduce waste.
As soon as I received the yoghurt maker (and thermometer), I made my first batch. The instructions are super simple and the yoghurt turned out perfectly - perhaps not as tart / sour as I am used to but that’s no issue. It was great to be more involved in the making (checking the temperature) and I love that the stainless vacuum maker fits so well on the bench. I am enthusiastic about creating less waste - and seeing the glass jar in the fridge is daily reminder of that. My only question is whether the culture sachets can also come in compostable form in future?
Lovely solid equipment - I was excited to receive this and to try it out, but I do suggest you also buy a thermometer if you don't have one, as it's the only way to accurately check the temperature of the yoghurt mix - which is crucial to the quality of the final product. So I haven't fully experimented yet as I am now waiting on that to arrive - but I am sure I'll be back - nice company to deal with.
I'm a complete novice at yoghurt making but the kit is so easy to use and produced literally THE BEST tasting yoghurt I've ever had.The stainless steel cannister and jar work really well to keep the milk warm while culturing. All simple to use (follow the included tips and tricks book) and easy to clean. My 15 month old struggled with the natural yoghurt flavour initially but mix in some strawberry jam (just a little) before serving and it goes down a treat! The maker does seem pricey but if you buy 1kg of yoghurt every week you'll make your money back in about 7 months (using standard milk). Plus, you don't have to worry about additives and preservatives, microplastics or the waste of multiple plastic containers. I'll never buy shop bought yoghurt again.
Happy so far with my yoghurt maker. Did what someone else suggested and also bought the thermometer which you need. My first attempt at coconut yoghurt was so so as was grainy so probably didn't mix enough but my next attempt with different brand of coconut cream and using the stick blender came out great.
Although I've been using a traditional yoghurt maker for years I was very happy too finally be able to retire the plastic altogether and also be able to make a little more space in the cupboard. I have tank water where I live so am also able to save a bit there with this wonderful little yoghurt maker not requiring it. Was very impressed that there was still warmth in the container in the morning and the yoghurt was perfect. It's compact and effective, very happy with this product.
