450 calories in less than an hour.

This appears to be a quality built and nice quiet piece of equipment even for the money. I was able to build up a sweat and burn about 450 calories in less than an hour while watching videos. However, there are a couple of characteristics that bother me or I would rate it a 4 (nothings perfect). One is a safety issue, not just an annoyance; that is the Strider has a tendency to want to tip sideways when I am riding at a fast pace with the load level set to medium-high.. (I am 5'-8", 180# and I have fairly good balance skills.) A couple of times the back of the Strider came off the floor in the same situation; a header in to the TV would have been the result had I not had a mantle to grab. The side-to-side tipping is easily prevented by simply having a longer Rear Stabilizer that extends beyond the current footprint. A longer stabilizer would also provide a surface to lay some small bar bell or other weights to add more stability to prevent both problems. The second issue is that this the Strider is not a "no impact" machine. The pedals bottom out with each stride; sometimes abruptly depending upon the speed and load level adjustment; not so bad with a fast pace but if you slow the pace for a cool-off period the rotation stops altogether. I don't know a fix for this other than heavier rotating parts to maintain the inertia but that would obviously affect the price. For now I plan to keep it and will adjust to those issues because I did get a decent workout in spite of them..

I researched products for a while until I decided on this one. I was nervous purchasing this product because I was unsure if I had enough leg room under my 27" desk from previous reviews of similar products. I have a very sedentary job and I haven't worked out in over 6 months. I purchased this product to try to fit in a workout while working. So far its great and was very simple to put together. I am only 5"4" and I have plenty of room above my knees and my chair is between the mid to highest height level. You can not hear the product when I am using it. I noticed a very slight squeak but I'm sure will go away with a little lubricant. I believe it is from the rubber rollers on the metal base. The display read yesterday that I burned 2869 calories and pedaled about 73.1 miles. I am unsure what the pedal count is because it resets after 9,999 strides and the last I looked it was over 7,000 and that was only after a couple hours. I thought this was a lot but I was using this non-stop for the 8 hours while at work.

We got this product so my 96-year-old Dad would pedal inside. The product is excellent and I find that I use it also. It came in a box. When I asked the salesman if it was already put together he said, "It may need a couple of screws, but that is all." That statement was far from the truth. It took us quite a while to figure out how to put it together and it took a lot more than "a couple of screws." Now that it's together, we love it!

For the price, it's good
31 January 2018

I live in an apartment in NYC and have a dog who goes crazy for anything that makes noise so I needed something small and quiet. After lots of research i bought this and it is exactly what I expected. The reviews about it not having a long enough stride are exactly right but it's a tiny little machine, of course it won't. It is however, sturdy, quiet, gets my heart pumping , and makes me sweat a little. I wish i had of bought the one with the resistance straps since I feel like my arms have nothing to do so i lift small weights instead. Overall exactly what you should get for this price. I am satisfied.

Not to shabby
4 June 2016

Was super fast to put together, surprisingly. It is somewhat heavy, (26-30pounds roughly), so if you have trouble lifting things definitely have someone help you lift it. I love the resistance knob. You can change the level of intensity of your walk. Awesome. Keeps track of calories burnt, time, steps and some other thing. The ONLY issue is..the foam where the wheels roll on bottom. Mine is already worn and ive only used it a few times. Im not super heavy, im 130 lbs, so i will say its extremely disappointing in that aspect. It doesnt come with replacement foam. So now one wheel is rolling on metal and it makes kind of a bad sound. Other than that great little thing to have.

Shockingly pleased by it!
4 April 2023

I purchased this not long ago to use at my work seems how I have a desk job. This machine was surprisingly easy to assemble, fits nicely under my desk and is quiet when in use. I set the resistance a bit higher and definitely feel it in my legs while getting my heart rate going. Great little cardio and leg muscle exercise machine. :) I do wish the display lit up (just a perk) and definitely wish the stride length was a bit more, but then it wouldn't be a compact machine, would it then haha? Overall, I Highly recommend it! ❤️

Sturdy machine, great workout

Don't let this little machine fool you, it gives you a great workout and is small enough to be tucked out of the way when not in use. I have back problems and was looking for a more intense workout than just walking on my treadmill, but I needed zero impact. I'm very pleased with the workout I receive on this machine. It was easy to put together. It came with its own tools and only took about 10-15 minutes. I use it standing up, but it can also be used in a sitting position for someone who is more limited. Mine squeaked a little right in the beginning but stopped after the first 5 minutes and has not squeaked since. It is quiet and is ideal for use in front of the TV. I have not had mine for very long, so I can't comment on how long it will last, but it seems very sturdy and well built. Walmart's shipping was fast, I received it sooner than expected.

Terrific option for desk sitters!
25 January 2023

I sit and work at my desk 50 hours a week, have issues with circulation, and I'm not likely to get up more often than I do. This was the solution to getting more exercise while continuing my hard work. It's a great machine, inexpensive and high quality construction. And I put it together myself in 20 minutes :-)

decent machine

Only had this a few days, but here is my initial impression. I takes a little practice to do this and stay balanced since there is nothing to put your hands on to steady yourself. However you could easily put the back of a chair in front of you and use that. If you use it without support, you are actually using more muscles when you are working to keep yourself balanced, which I like. It has a very short stride! I am a 5'8" female, 145 lbs, with size 10 feet so it feels quite short compared to my natural long strides although I am ok with this. It is pretty quiet. The resistance is adjustable by a nob that you can bend down and tighten. It has a handle built into the top and is relatively easy to pick up and move. I've found that you can tip the machine to the side when I shifted my weight to one foot too fast, so it is good to have something nearby to grab. I was able to work up a sweat and feel it in my legs, butt, and core muscles so this will be good to burn some extra calories in my living room while watching tv with my family.

This is my third Stamina InMotion the first two were E1000 Elliptical Trainer. The Strider is the newest model. I use this at work since I sit in front of a computer all day and ride on it throughout the day clocking about 3 to 4 hours. I like that this one has a handle on it makes for easy maneuvering. It is nice, smooth and compact for my needs. My first two started out quiet and then got to squeaking after about a month. This one rides well but I can hear the belt swooshing and I heard it from the first day I started riding it. It is not as annoying as the squeaking sound but I do get that once and awhile at the wheel, but a little oil and that goes away so far. The swooshing of the belt does not. I do enjoy using it and do like the product as evident that this ... MoreThis is my third Stamina InMotion the first two were E1000 Elliptical Trainer. The Strider is the newest model.
