For under £50 this was the best value wheeled backpack tool bag I could find. Plenty of space and pockets with removeable tool holder inside. Ideal for work trips into London for quick transfers from over ground to underground trains and on-foot to destination. I can't fault it!

Almost the best bag

I've had the bag in use for over a year now, both on construction sites and in central London. Wheels are a godsend in London, so easy to wheel about. Carrys just about everything needed when doing servicings. I dont tend to use the tool wallet as I need the space for test equipment. Still manage to pack it to the max including tablet etc. Size is just about right as any bigger and filled would make it too heavy for the shoulder strapsGreat bag, very versatile. Wheels still good and zips should last forever. Main compartment zips are pad lockable, good when on the tube.

Fantastic concept but the interior layout of the bag sucks and you can hardly actually fit a decent amount of tools in it. It snagged and broke its own straps while dragging on the wheels. Just generally underwhelmed with it unfortunately. If youre doing light work and dont have proper tools then it will do you perfectly but it is not tough enough for a site.

Fits 1 small child comfortably

My first instinct with this bag was to stick my 7 month old boy in it, it zips right up to his neck and protects him well, even when I corner fast. Just be careful though as these luggage style bags do have a tendency to flip over. Using his face as a brake isnt recommended, though it is a well known fact that skin to tarmac does slow you down fast.Anyway, this is a "confused" bag, it is trying to be two things, it has a padded section for a laptop, and right next to that you slip the removable "handbag" for your hammer and screwdriver. But the padding only comes half way up, so your laptop just gets "half" scratched!.... I say it is a "confused bag" because its like it is aimed at a project manager or boss, who does go on site with their laptop, but doesnt really carry tools... On the other hand it has the removable "tool handbag" (which i LOVE), but it doesnt have enough pockets.... on the actual inside of the bag they missed a trick, they could have easily stitched a load of hooks, pockets and clips to hang tools off of, so when you upen it up theyre all easy to find, but they didnt, so all your tools are just lobbed in one on top of the other.... with 'everything on top but nothing handy'.... the "loops" on the outside are just for show too, i dont see many people looking like a happy camper and clipping their kettle on there, let alone walking down the street with a lot of screwdrives, knives, chisels and saws attached the outside and jangling about!all in all the bag is comfy to wear, wheels are good, handy feels sturdy and it can fit a lot in, but it needs a lot more pockets please - if it had them this bag would be a dream.

Great tool bag
17 September 2018

Only just got it so I'll see how long it lasts but it seems a lot stronger than my last one. Great removable tool holder. I end up with so many tools and fittings in my box I can barely carry it so the fact I can pull it along or wear on my back is a bonus. Not as many compartments as I would have liked but I'll buy some pouches to store little bits like drill bits etc. All in all, I'm very happy with purchase. Seller amazing, got it to me next day.

Never find a tool again
31 January 2020

The idea is great, but practical wise its useless. If you live in London, and want to take some tools on the underground or bus to do a few jobs its great. But for everyday work, I just couldnt find anything. There isnt much space either. Also the part with all the holders that you can pull out, all the tools just end up falling out when you remove it from the bag. I spent most of my time pulling every tool out just to find one stuck right at the bottom. The zips only come down half way aswell, making it really difficult to find tools at the bottom. Wouldnt recommend for everyday use.

Not as good as it should be
15 February 2020

Bought this bag because of its capacity and the fact it can be carried on my back and wheeled around.I don't use the tool wallet as I have a lot of test equipment, specialist tools, cables, tablet and laptop and just a small selection of screwdrivers and cutters for equipment access and rewiring. My main gripe is access can be annoying as the tool I want is always at the bottom. The black interior doesn't help when trying to find them either. After less than a year the interior stitching has torn. The side pockets are too shallow and unsecure making them useless for anything but a bottle of water which can also fall out. After just a year the tags on the zips have broken off as the metal part is just 2x 1mm thick to allow the rubber moulding to fix. After a little work hardening from use these just fail. I now have zip ties to pull the zips up.The handle and straps are good and strong though and not yet failed which has been common with other brands and the wheels have taken some abuse although easy to lock up on debris on the floor.Netting on the back is useless as it is far too week. Mine is torn to shredsWould have liked to see more zip pockets and more robust cargo net on the back.A rigid box version with hinged fold out sections would be better as I could use it as a seat for when I'm using my computer.

Stanley 1-79-215 FatMax Wheeled Backpack

For the price I paid, this was the best value tool bag I could find with both backpack and wheely capabilities. It has a telescopic handle, that doesn't feel that tough but as long as it's not abused then I don't see why it wouldn't last. My fellow work-mates all have one of these and apart from the zipper tabs sometimes breaking, they all work well. It easily holds all my manual/hand tools with a removable tool holder. I don't use the laptop section other than to hold hammers and other thin, narrow items (eg. Stilsons). There are side pockets and a zipped top pouch too to hold small quickly accessible tools. Great for travelling around London on the tube and walking to and from work locations. At a squeeze, I can also fit a drill/impact driver and spare battery. ... MoreFor the price I paid, this was the best value tool bag I could find with both backpack and wheely capabilities. All-in-all it's a good bag but I suspect the wheels may need occasional cleaning and oiling.

Strong materials and zipper zip, wheels are good on smooth surfaces only, easy to use as a rucksack
16 November 2018

I am Stanley fan. I have lots of products from them (at least 100). I had to buy another Fatmax wheeled because on the other one several problems occurred. First the wheels' axles bent, than pealed the tires off from the wheels. I was able to pool it on its plastic bottom. Than the handle came off. Then most of the zip handles broke off. But, the zippers themselves did not brake and holds tools together, The material did not brake either and its very strong. Easy to fold the long pooling handle and now I pool the new one on straight and smooth surfaces only. If that ends, I take it on my shoulder because after all its a rucksack, as well. It works out well for me just need to take better care for it. Its a little expensive. The wheels need improvement: both the axle ... MoreI am Stanley fan. The latch (blocking mechanism) that holds the pool handle in place will get loose and come out eventually. Now I know its weaknesses and the new one I bought lasts very well. I can use the old one as well as a backpack and I am sure it will not brake.

Toops damn fantastic

After yrs of carrying tool bags in my hands I began having bad back pains. A mate at work recommended this bag to me, within 2 weeks all my back pains was. No more carrrying heavy tool bags but rolling on smooth wheels. The bag itself is pretty strong and robust. Really spacious inside. I Highly recommend this bag. Excellentvalue for money
