Stanley 100L Industrial Steel Tub Wheelbarrow

I bought one of these several years ago, assuming that the Stanley branding would imply a minimum level of build quality. No dice. The worst part is, with a moderate amount of weight in the barrow it becomes so unstable that it will randomly roll over if allowed to sit on it's back feet on a level surface. Operating the barrow with a heavy load requires your full attention and a good wide stance to avoid capsizing. The nuts and bolts are of shockingly low quality, in no way fit for the near $200 price tag. I've managed to improve on both of these complaints by fitting a skinnier wheel & tyre (4", sold at an auto parts store, cost wasn't a great deal more than buying a new inner tube!) with the axle relocated as far to the front of the wheelbarrow as it can go ... MoreI bought one of these several years ago, assuming that the Stanley branding would imply a minimum level of build quality. I've managed to improve on both of these complaints by fitting a skinnier wheel & tyre (4", sold at an auto parts store, cost wasn't a great deal more than buying a new inner tube!) with the axle relocated as far to the front of the wheelbarrow as it can go without rubbing on the steel wheel guard. And by fitting some quite cheap and nasty nuts bolts and washers that I had lying around, which was a massive improvement on what it came with.In its defence, it's spent much of its life exposed to the elements and the tub has held up fine.

I have bought and used many wheelbarrows for landscaping over 30 years. Never have I bought one that so quickly faltered as soon as you loaded heavy material. Made sure everything was tightened before use and the wheel was pumped up and before too long the tyre needed inflating again and when I tried to pump it up the valve broke. Used it twice before that. Very unhappy with this product. I would not recommend you buy this product particularly if you don't use wheelbarrows often because it will become dangerous under heavy load when turning even wide corners

Had for about a year and a half, hasn’t had a hard life. Wheel went flat within the year. Bunnings don’t have the wheel or tube on the shelves which seems to be a common complaint. I emailed Stanley who didn’t respond. Pulled the wheel off and the leak was at the valve stem. Replaced the wheel with the super cheap auto wheel as advised in the comments. Several rust spots in the tub and various spots. Used rust converter and spray painted over the top. Will see how long I get out of it. Expected more from Stanley and for the price.
