I bought this brand new and I have used for securing bolts to cut and file or other small jobs like that. First time I needed to use the vice for a more serious job (tried to lock a bicycle wheel, so I could unscrew the sprocket) and the base of the vice snapped clean. There were no signs of it breaking e.g. cracking noises, bending or anything like that. I realise that this is a small vice and not intended for heavy use but I would assume that if the clamp size allows holding something larger than a beer cap, it should hold strong enough to live up to it. Aside of that, it would have been handy if the vice came with bolts to mount onto my work bench.

Got this out of the box to find that it didn't come with fixing bolts. Why? It's like selling a bike without wheels. Bought some bolts from a hardware store and they didn't come with nuts? Why? Shop owner muttered something about product liability. What a crazy world.
