Ive had this set for maybe 5+years.The ratchets need a dismantel and clean from time to time. And occasionally flips direction which can sht ya in a tight spot..The sockets are still fermly in place, which i prefer.The top of the lid with a bit of force can be used to fit adapters etc.If anything, i wish they made the top to fit another 3/8 extention and adapters like 1/2~3/8, 3/8~1/4. And the swivel ones.The case is solid, but the clips and hinge pins are meh.Will grab another next special.

I grabbed this socket set last week during a sale, only paid just under $80 for it, but given how well made and comprehensive the set is I wouldn’t think twice about buying another set for full price if ever need be. I bought this tool a year ago and I have been using it regularly on my car. If there is one thing I love most about this toolkit, it would be the wrench itself. It is tough as I have abused it quite regularly and never has shown signs of weakness. At my workplace, I use a different Stanley toolkit (wrench with the smaller button) and it was just not on par with this set. It felt like the mechanism wasn't as well built as this one.The selection of sockets is quite diverse and I have rarely across a time where I didn't have the correct size of socket for the job. Don't expect is to have sockets for really tiny bolt. For that purpose, I would recommend getting a cheap 3/8' socket set. Good quality very good for the price not sure if the wall thickness for the larger sockets will handle high torque settings. Good set for non professionals.
Myself and a friend both purchased this socket set, the quality of the sockets and extensions are great however our ratchets keep breaking. Just though normal use (not heavy load), the ratchet head becomes stuck and you can't move it at all or change directions. This has happened twice to me and several more times for my friend. Him and i have both had this issue many times and keep having to get them replaced under warranty, which does not solve our problem. The moulding is also tight in most cases.Unforntally, I will be replacing the ratchet with another brand but keeping the sockets as i like them.
I got a sealed set of these out of a dumpster next to Supercheap Auto Lismore just after the 2017 Flood. I opened it up drained the flood water and gunks out of all the sockets and washed them with Inox. I then sold them to my cousin for $50. He uses them every day and they are still all good. Not even the box has rusted out.I do have to LOL at some of weekend warrior reviews comparing these with Sidchrome and Tool Pro against these..... FYI Sidcrome and Tool Pro are both brands of Stanley Tool Works Sidchrome has been owned by them since 1991.
Solid well finished socket set certainly worth the money. Set is very similar is quality to early 70s Sidchrome, polish and overall attention to detail is very good. Ratchet is smooth and locks the socket or bar on until the push button is used, no more dropped rolled under the car sockets.
Quality socket set. I am retiring my old set plus other spanners after 25 plus years.Only buy quality tools have done for many years. Stanley socket and spanner sets fit into quality long life tools.
So good i now have 3 sets of these. Feel fantastic in the hand when using, and can take some serious force. The sockets even on an impact gun still survive. If you buy one socket set in your lifetime, buy this.

BOTH brands source their sockets from the same factory in Taiwan.They are exactly the same sockets and ANSI specifications, but branded differently. They both have IDENTICAL life time warranties. I cannot say for sure if the ratchet drives etc are similar quality between these two brands, but at guess would say not much different if at all, if any.
