This is the dream game of all Star Wars fans - one where you actually get to wield a "lightsaber" in the real world and see your enemies get shredded on the screen. The Wii's interactive controllers achieve this by translating your real-life slashes, punches, and twists into devastating lightsaber strikes, powerful force-pushes, and Vader-like chokes - all on your television screen. What Star Wars fan WOULDN'T want to own this game on the Wii?But what if you aren't a Star Wars fan? Judging The Force Unleashed on game mechanics rather than movie nostalgia, it still holds up pretty well. Here are a few of the high and low points:- Controls. Once Vader defeats him and is about to deliver the final blow, the lightsaber is Force Pulled out of his hand and he turns around to see . . . a little boy, maybe 5 years old I would say. Vader feels that the Force in the kid and stands there for a minute thinking of what to do and takes back his lightsaber. The Stormtroopers come up with their guns trained on the kid, and Vader turns around to face them. Cut to the kid's scared face as you hear Vader's lightsaber fire up and takes out everyone - rouge Jedi and Stormtroopers alike. With no witneses, he leads the boy away to become his Secret Apprentice. As the Apprentice, you'll go on missions to find other rouge Jedi, and see how the Rebellion came to be. That's about all I know on the story s.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed for the Nintendo Wii is a fun game with a great story line, but it has it's pros and cons. For the die hard Star Wars fans out there such as myself, the pros will easily outweigh the cons. The graphics are decent, not amazing, but the special effects and cut scenes look good. The game has a feature that some will love, and some will find annoying. Those of you who love RPGs for their cool cut scene style attacks will like this feature. There are points in boss battles where it will go into an interactive cut scene in which you have to turn either the wiimote or the nunchuck to match the orientation on the screen, doing so the correct amount of times will result in the completion of the cut scene and a large amount of damage will be ... MoreStar Wars: Force Unleashed for the Nintendo Wii is a fun game with a great story line, but it has it's pros and cons. The game play is fun, but can get repetitive, I find myself rarely using my lightsaber because it is so weak (it generally takes three or more hits from the lightsaber to kill an opponent) and I rely on the myriad force powers that they give you. The most annoying feature of the game is that they don't give you a mission select, so you can't go back and replay a specific level. It is my understanding that you can play through the game again once you've beaten it keeping your force powers and upgrades that you got, but that's only a small consolation to me. Overall I give this game 4 out of 5 for the great gameplay and story, but I take that one point for the repetitiveness and lack of a mission.

Wow, I adored this game. I had read so many mixed reviews, that I, frankly, wasn't expecting much (and I'll acknowledge the caveat that having lowered expectations makes things easier to enjoy, sometimes), but, sweet mother, WHAT a ride The Force Unleashed is. I haven't been a Star Wars fan in years, so I didn't get as much from the story as a fan of the series might, but the technology and the gameplay in this game is...out of this world, for lack of a better cliche. The DMM is mind-blowing. I replayed the Cloud City level so many times, just to smash the Ugnaughts through those glass monitors in the cantina countless ways. Then, when I got tired of that, I'd play with the Euphoria, and force lift them up a column, where they'd grab and hang and flail for a few ... MoreWow, I adored this game. Then, when I got tired of that, I'd play with the Euphoria, and force lift them up a column, where they'd grab and hang and flail for a few seconds before giving in and falling into the abyss of Bespin. No wonder I ended up with the surprise "Bully" trophy. (Did the same thing in the Prologue level with Vader torturing the Stormtroopers, and ended up with the "Worst Day Shift Manager Ever" trophy, which made me guffaw.) This game floats around 20 bucks now--it's worth it for the technology alone, please believe me--although I admit I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff (DMM and Euphoria).I LOVED the Jedi fights in this game. I'm not a huge hack-and-slash fan, and I adored the way the game promoted mixing up your attacks between saber slashes, force pushes, and lighting--and throwing lightning-infused level objects at enemies too. This game is so much fun. PL.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is the new multimedia project that chronicles the journey of Vader's secret apprentice during the years between Episodes III and IV. Kill Stormtroopers, battle the last Jedi, and change the fate of the galaxy.Right away, lower your expectations, because this is the Wii and it obviously won't have the same graphics and physics engines of the PS3/360 versions. Now lower your expectations some more, because the graphics are pretty average by Wii standards. That out of the way, the Wii version features great implementation of Force powers through gesture-based controls, and you'll have a blast shoving enemies aside, blasting them with Force lightning, or holding them in the air and throwing a lightsaber through their chest. That out of the way, the Wii version features great implementation of Force powers through gesture-based controls, and you'll have a blast shoving enemies aside, blasting them with Force lightning, or holding them in the air and throwing a lightsaber through their chest. Lightsaber controls are also motion-based, and while it's more waggle than 1:1 precision, it works well with your Force powers and allow you to mow through the multiple enemies with ease. There is also a duel mode for the Wii version that lets you pick from classics characters, and it's amusing in short bursts. What really hurts the game though are the same problems that plague most action games: The levels are linear, leading to some repetitive environments. The camera can also get seriously spastic at times, especially during boss segments where AT-STs and Rancors are bombarding you with hits. And for some strange reason you can't die, either - the game merely kicks you back to a previous checkpoint. This kills some of the diffi.
Hearing from other reviewers, you might not want to even look at this game. Gamers scaring others away with things like "horrible graphics" or "stupid gameplay options". I'll try to clear those up as I can.Graphics:the Bad: when your cape flaps it breaks the character's figure. the facial emotions of the character are horrid.the Good: the colors are perfect, lighting and hues are vivid and fitting and make you wonder whether this is animated or on the original StarWars set. the movement of the character and A.I. are very fluid and controlled, very real and life-like. not hardly pixellated at all, I have no idea where people are getting that. Gameplay:the Bad: swinging the wiimote for the saber was an ingenious concept but is not as developed as could've been, you haven't got to swing more than in wii tennis. to use the lightsaber instead of the lightsaber following the wiimote more exactly the targeting for the force worked well but could sometimes (meaning about once every level average) be frustrating, picking up the wrong things.the Good: I still loved the wiimote-lightsaber set up and enjoyed that throughout. moving objects with the force with the nunchuck joystick proved very controllable and wonderful to work with. I loved the gameplay set up and controls and wouldn't change th.
Honestly, I don't know why people are complaining. The Force Unleashed (Wii version) makes for an entertaining, challenging, and worthwhile Star Wars video game - or any video game. But I should be more specific:First, the gameplay is fantastic! As Vader's apprentice, Starkiller, you're given a whole host of Force powers that are untapped throughout the movie saga (hence the title of the game). Whether it's zapping groups of stormtroopers with lightning attacks, holding your enemy in midair and impaling them with your lightsaber, or clearing your path entirely with a destructive Force push, there are endless opportunities to "do work" on Imperials and a variety of other scumbag warriors. With the lightsaber being an extension of your Wii remote, coupled with the concept of special killing moves that require specific motions with your remote and nunchuck, you really get the feel that YOU are the one unleashing the Force, and not just being a puppet-master. And the best thing? When (not if, trust me - some of those flying stormtroopers are a real pain) you die, the autosave feature lets you come back to life essentially right where you fell. AKA, no frightening and infuriating GAME OVER screens!Second, the story is interesting enough yet refreshing at the same time. I won't go into too much detail so as not to ruin it for potential players, but the game follows Starkiller's journey across many unique planets as he struggles to reconcile his servitude to the Dark Side under Lord.
