We purchased this for our 13 week old Golden Retriever puppy and it was an ABSOLUTE HIT!! We have been putting half of her breakfast in it to slow down her eating. It definitely does the job of keeping her occupied and happy! FANTASTIC PURCHASE :)

We got this toy a year ago from a different place when my border collie was three months old, to slow down his fast eating habit, we continued to feed him twice a day with this toy which he learned to do right away, As he got older, he would continue to play with this toy even with no food in it! He doesn't have a problem with fast eating anymore, he's a year-old now and it continues to push and shove the toy all over the backyard for fun, it's his favorite toy besides any kind of ball! I got two more in a small size and a large size because we're getting another border collie puppy! I keep the lid on nice and tight at all times this product has been tossed around more than you'll ever know and is still perfect! When I ordered this product I thought I'd wait until George was older and bigger. However, I couldn't wait and I'm glad I didn't. This product is FABULOUS! I have already recommended it to several dog owners. I use it to feed him Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. He has to use his brain and energy to get the food out, in-turn slowing him down so he can't eat his meals in seconds anymore. It takes about 20 mins to finish a meal. Also, I use it in his crate to re-enforcing that 'good things' happen in his crate! It's build very sturdy, easy to fill, easy to clean!!!

We have a very smart and very anxious American Foxhound, who needs mental stimulation when we leave him alone. The kong is fantastic but it gets stuck under our new media console and then Moose digs up our rug to try and get to it...not good! This is larger and doesn't get stuck underneath things which has been a life saver. With the hole made smaller, it takes him about 20 minutes to eat his food and then he lays down peacefully afterward. I'm a little worried he will figure out how to open the top, but he hasn't in the first few weeks so fingers crossed it holds up!
Great kibble dispenser. I have bought several at this point at this one is my (or should I say my dogs) favorite). You can open the top and add kibble with a customizable feed system to accommodate various sizes. There is also another external customizable exit hole for the kibble/treat - allows for various complexity and prevents boredom. I like the plastic is is constructed of as it seem to be very durable.BIG NEGATIVE...hint hint to any manufacturing rep reading this....give us a way to open it and clean it! I am sure I can immerse this is in water but I hate the thoughts of it not being thoroughly hand scrubbed and allowed to air dry...I worry about mold bacteria growth potential in the inner workings.
This is Saffron's second Bob-a-lot, she loves it, but my fault for not getting another- or maybe I should've got he larger one. She loves to carry it and try to get the top off, lots of teeth crunching marks; Take the top off she destroyed the "threading" in seconds so the top will not go on well or not at all. I think it's a great toy, as she has fun, but needs to have shark bite strength material. WUF!!! WIGGLE WIGGLE GIVE ME BOB-A_LOT!!!!! chew chew bang twirl. BTW, anyone else's furkid a leftie? '
I have since had to purchase elsewhere as my items Inhad ordered the Bob A lot toy I was send 2 x bags of chicken treats. I was given a refund I must note. But postage was long and item arrived incorrectly so this was very disappointing. I most likely wont risk purchasing here again.
The scenario: Border Collie mix. Puppy. Highly intelligent. Cracked most "smart" toys in a matter of minutes, usually by "cheating." I ended up buying 5 of these suckers -- two big, three little -- so they could be her "sheep." I divvy up a handful of kibble among the five and then put these all over the house. They wobble so they catch her attention and itshe has to "tend" to each and eventually "herd" them to the same place so she can keep watch over them. It keeps her busy for a half an hour. I also keep the dispensing hole closed because she has figured out (first try) how to slide it open. She is also working on how to unscrew the cap -- but I take her sheep away when she gets to that point. Yay!
I bought the large Starmark Bob-A-Lot Dog Toy for my 25 pound, 11 year old Corgi mix. She seemed bored as of late, and I thought a challenging toy would be fun for her. The Bob-A-Lot has a chamber that you can fill with dry kibble or treats. I filled it with a mix of both, to make it a bit more interesting for her. There's an opening toward the bottom that can be adjusted wide, for easy access to the kibble and treats, or narrower, so that it takes some work to get to the goodies inside. When I put the Bob-A-Lot down on the floor, I had to nudge it around a few time so that she could figure out how to get the kibble and treats out of it. Once she figured it out, there was no stopping her. She absolutely loved it and I was thoroughly entertained watching her "play" with it.
This is a great way to slow down your dog's gobble habit, but just in its design, it isn't meant for day to day use. My biggest beef is the difficulty to load a cup worth of food in through the top. For some reason unknown to me, there is a narrowed opening that clogs when you put any amount of kibble in there, and it makes a spill mess everywhere. I think the device is designed as a treat feeding, or distraction method to keep the dog busy. There are other systems that don't spill food all over the floor that might work better for a slow feeding method like those bowls with the dividers. In all though, this is a great device to keep your puppy working for its food.
