StarTech 1 Port PCIe Gigabit Network Server Adapter NIC Card
A NIC or Network Interface Card is a circuit board or chip which allows the computer to communicate to other computers on a network. When connected to the network, computers can share websites, files, printers and other resources. The most popular networking standard at the moment is Ethernet, which one can recognize by the rectangular connectors with eight wires in them. Wireless network with the 802.11b and the faster 802.11g standard is also increasingly popular, both at home and in the office, though it is not yet as fast as wired (ethernet) network. A public place where you can use wireless internet is called a ““hot spot”“.

Had the lan connection on my motherboard fail- not sure why, so I put one of these into the pcie socket and it worked with no downloads or any trouble at all. This is a win 10 professional pc with an msi motherboard. Speed seems excellent and as fast as on any of my other machines. I am very pleased with this purchase

Fast, stable, reasonably priced. Latency is not quite as good as the Intel X540-T2 but it is very close. Transfer speeds are as good or slightly better than the Intel. Unless your environment is one where a minor response time is more important than transfer speeds, I would pick this card over the more costly intel, however the Intel has 2 ports. Both the Intel and Startech were significantly better in every way over the QNap card.

These used Cisco 887 routers are a bargin. You get a quality product at great price. Be aware though that these are not ordinary consumer products. You're going to need to know about Cisco IOS to use them. I'm not convinced they are the best for a training lab router. I'd go for the 1841 instead.
I needed a second ethernet jack in a gaming computer to have a dedicated second wired IP address (not connected to the internet) to control a video switcher. Surprisingly, this really was plug and play. The computer is an iBuyPower 9th Gen Core i7 with a MSI motherboard running Windows 10 Home.
This was used to fix a mother board with a failed network interface. It worked under windows 10 with no need to load drivers. The only issue is that it was not supplied with a bracket for low profile computers. I removed the bracket and used it with no bracket to lock it inplace.
Purchased the ASUS 10G $99 network card and it would not do a 1/4 of the load that my on board lan port would do. Returned the ASUS card and purchased this. The card went right in and with no issues. Everything runs smooth and was easy to get going. Highly recommend this setup.
StarTech.com 1 Port PCI-Express Gigabit Network Server Adapter with REV E Intel 6 Chip NIC Card - Dual Profile (ST1000SPEX2) Install under Win 10 and came up instantly as plug and play, loaded Win 10 driver found on StarTech website and it worked too. Showed 1GB receiption and speed test download and upload were spectacular. Only measured speed with Win 10 driver downloaded off their website. The driver disk provided did not have the Win 10 driver on it. Old motherboard installed NIC died and this was bought as a replacement. VERY pleased!
the lan port on my motherboard somehow stopped working so i put this into an open pcie slot and it worked great. no download of drivers or anything else. it just worked. as fast as when i had my motherboard
was very amazed that the product worked very well in a 2012 era MB had one of the early versions of win10 that was updated in a amazing speed installed card turned on computer next thing I knew windows needed to reboot to finish update! I definitely would buy again!
