Great product if you want to be able to use your older 3.5mm headphone with your iPad. I had previously bought a Belkin adapter where the audio would not work unless it was plugged in with USB-C power connected to it. And you would hear a humming on your headphones. The StarTech will work with out any power cable connected to it. This way if you are some place where you don’t have power, you still listen to music or videos. For example, if you go on a plane trip and want to watch a movie you still can with this adapter. And if your battery get’s low, you can plug in an external battery pack on the USB-C port. However, I noticed that the volume buttons on the headphone jacks will not work with this adapter. This was similar on the Belkin adapter. However, if you use Apple USB-C to 3.5mm adapter the volume buttons do work. However, since the Apple adapter had only a single 3.5mm jack on it, you can’t charge your iPad while you are listening to music or watching a movie. That is the main reason why I wanted this type of adapter. I like the T shaped design as opposed to the wire hanging out the bottom with a dongle on it like the Belkin adapter had. The T shaped design looks much cleaner. I have bought other StarTech products in the past for my computer and haven’t had any problems with them. Overall another great product.

I use this adapter for my Galaxy Z Fold 3 and particularly for gaming. It's honestly a really great investment because I prefer to do most mobile gaming with headphones and need the jack. I can also charge my device at the same time, but the BEST part of it all is that it's right angled so it doesn't stick out of your phone too much. Not so much protrusion when you're gaming and you can charge the device comfortably. This is a MUST when gaming with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 because of the placement of the USB C port. The location of the charging port was poorly designed because it becomes uncomfortable to charge the device while gaming so this item is much needed. I'm always using a fast charger but when plugged in, the device will show ""charging via usb port"" which reduces the speeds of charging. It's bothersome because the charging is not consistent, which defeats the purpose of being able to charge and play at the same time. Overall not a bad tool to have and it definitely makes gaming much easier. It doesn't stick out too much so your hands aren't farther away from the device.

Initial Review Oct 18, 2021 With so many phones coming out without 3.5mm audio I needed a solution. I use wired headphones every day. They sound good, are way cheap to buy, don't need charging, no batteries to drain, and I find dealing with the cords is less bothersome than charging Bluetooth headphones. I'm planning on switching phones so wanted to have this solution in place before I do so. I attached this adapter to my Samsung Galaxy S0+, plugged my earphones into the 3.5mm audio jack, and inserted a magnetic USB-C adapter into the power port. I then attached the power cable. Everything worked as promised. The music sounds great, no noise as others have reported. I even tried turning the volume to max and there was no distortion. I recommend this adapter.
