I ordered this adapter after i bought a macbook pro with retina display. I have an older 21" apple display and a newer acer 23" display and wanted to use them simultaneously. This has worked perfectly for the last two months and i am very happy with my purchase.
I have used this adaptor for both my pc and macbook. I have not had any issues with either computer. This adaptor gets used 24 hours a day 7 days a week and has not had any blimps.I would recommend this to both pc and mac users.
Lenovo resells these for use with my W530 which only has VGA and mini display port out. It works, and is costs less at Home Essentials Direct. In my case I generally only need to connect to an HDMI port, so I am now using the ATEN Mini DisplayPort to HD Adapter (VC980) for that as it is smaller and works well.
I didn't expect that it would really drive 2 or 3 of the outputs. But, I did try it. Just be aware that it's to let you switch the miniDP to ONE of the other connections without carrying around 3 separate adapters or 3 larger cables.
The adapter works fine. Once someone tripped over the cord and the case came open, but snapped back together. Overall I would buy again, and the price is right.
This adapter is a solid performer, but the size and port layout is a bit odd. I've seen some other adapters that have similar functionality, but with a more compact design. When I travel, it cuts down on the amount of adapters I need to bring, but it also occupies a decent amount of bag space.
I like this small adapter, it works well. I have it hooked to my hdmi monitor, it as well have audio going through the monitor as well.
Ive only used it once so far but it seems to work great its very easy and straight forward to use!
