Ethernet cables have writing on the sleeve, giving tech specs about the cable. Sometimes it is very richly colored, sometimes it is not. I had a need to expose a white cable, & searched for one that had faintly-visible writing on the sleeve. (I couldn't do a 'extra slim' cable at 50', & certainly didn't want flat) The ad pictures showed this to be the best contender. I received it today, and YES it is. The spec writing on the sleeve is very faint, thank you! Yes the cable design is fine & speeds are great. Great price too. Thank you startech. I recommend this cable.

I wanted to get a better cable run from my Roku box to my network switch / wireless router, and to hardwire the TIVO instead of using wireless. Since this was in my living room, I didn't want any bright colored, tangled cables. I like the off-white color of these cables. I've bought StarTech cables in the past, and like the soft feel, and the way they lay straight and don't twist or stay bent. I bought Cat 6 grade because that's the fastest, for Gigabit Ethernet. Not that the old TIVO HD is anywhere near that fast, but might as well plan for the future for the extra buck or two, as home networking will get faster. Price is much less than they would be at Best Buy, and the quality is better. Quality cable, great price.

I'm setting up some outdoor PoE Security Cameras and figured 50 feet for each would be sufficient. So far, these have worked out great. Pros: -Feels Durable -No Connection loss / bad cords -Not easily kinked Cons: -Not rated for outdoors Overall: I've looked through a LOT of Ethernet cords to find the right set for a reasonable price. I ran these through my attic where they won't be exposed to the elements and I've had no issues whatsoever.

It's a StarTech. What more do I need to say? If you've never used StarTech, you won't be disappointed. StarTech stands behind their products 150%. If StarTech's ad says their products will do certain things, believe it. I've been using StarTech products for years and never regretted ANY purchase made. I've never had to return ANY product bought from them. All said to say this... You will NOT be disappointed with buying StarTech products. No I don't work for StarTech, I'm just a VERY HAPPY long term customer. Once you make your first StarTech purchase, you'll join the ranks of IT brothers and sisters who rely solely on StarTech products by saving money, time and having strong network reliability.
Reminds me of the old days when I would borrow laptops and connect them to the internet at the library. Might still need this. You are not that old kyle.
The image showing the cross section of this cable gives one the impression of a substantial ""PVC jacket"". What I received is a cable that seems less substantial with a slightly bumpy textured surface and StarTech.com and the specs written on it repeatedly. I have one from Best Buy actually costing a bit less that is a smooth cable and seems to be a more durable. Will hook this up and give it and try - and let you know if there is a problem with the performance. Thinking of returning this and finding a more substantial cable - there are others that appear to be better quality - and for a lower price ... though one never knows until the product is in hand what you're actually buying. I do appreciate the neutral gray color.
These cables are well made, sturdy cable and connectors/connections. The jacket is very bright and easily identified by the color. It was nice to be able to get the varying lengths in the same color/manufacturer for my needs.
This is a well-made cable and a great value, as are most StarTech products. Bottom line, it "just works." The one criticism I have is that it does not come with the connector shown in the product page photo. Instead, it has, as shown in my photo, a pair of fins on either side. This is generally effective, but can be awkward to use in some cases - especially when space is tight.
first time buying a Startech product, and im pleased. with the 25ft purple snagless patch cat6 ethernet cable in yer hands upon removing it from its packaging, you know its a quality made item. very satisfied, and will be looking to startech products in future, as a retrurning customer thanks
