The inside is enameled so clean up is a breeze and no special care is required...no seasoning needed!It comes with a 5.5 qt dutch oven that's perfect family size. The brasier can fry, saute and is ideal for the popular one pot meals. This is the set of my dreams. The stackability alleviates so many of my storage woes. The set itself is great. With the pot, braiser and grill all my cast iron needs are met. The Staub quality is amazing. The enameled cast iron is so easy to clean and never needs seasoning. The included silicone bumpers keep the pieces pristine during storage. I was looking for a set that would get me a variety of dishes for a reasonable price. This is my introduction to enameled cast iron cooking. After a lot of back and forth between this set and some pieces from the most well known competitor, I settled on this set for the value of the bundle and some key features like the spiked lid and the darker enameled cast iron that is less likely to stain. The pieces are heavy, especially stacked as designed. The set is probably a bit heavy for someone elderly or with mobility constraints.
Perfect wedding gift or housewarming. The three pans can handle almost all of your cooking needs. The 5 1/2 quart Dutch oven is perfect for soups, stews and baking bread! The braiser is awesome for sautéing, frying and ideal for one pot dishes. The grill pan is amazing with its deep grill lines providing a beautiful sear to all your meats, fruits and vegetables. The inside is an extremely durable enameling that doesn't require seasoning and can stand up to some pretty rough treatment. The outside enameling is not only beautiful but durable as well. I love how easily they stack and store. They even come with rubber protectors to protect the rims during storage.
Absolutely love my stackable set! It is very versatile and useful and a breeze to clean up. So far I have used the grill pan to grill fish, braised chicken drumsticks in the brasier and made taco meat in the 5.5 qt pan. The set is a little pricey but well worth it!
I love this set! I had worn out another Dutch oven with thousands of pots of chili, spaghetti sauce and soup over 35 years. It was time to treat myself and the stackable set fit the bill. After years of stained enamel that I was embarrassed to let guests see, I chose the black set and am proud to serve directly from the pots.
